INTRODUCTION
The assignment will describe about the Soft systems methodology which is primarily used
for business improvement. In order to identify the different issue or problem. The documentation
will assume multiple business problem in which use an appropriate methodology for performing
different operations within organization. Soft system methodology is based on the different
stages that will be divided into different manner. Furthermore, it will discuss about the actions
that will implement in the organizational improvement and analysis by using Soft systems
methodology. However, it will be implementing the different methodologies in the specific
context.

Soft systems methodology
Soft systems methodology is based on the approach to the organizational process
modelling. It is mainly used for resolving problem in the change of management (Hildbrand and
Bodhanya, 2017). In order to develop an interactive plan for implementing different action

in global marketplace.
The methodology was developed on the basis of earlier system engineering approach. The

understanding towards problem situation. According to case study, it can be determined that
competition is becoming intense, growth sales which causes significant changes in the random
access (Ameyaw and Alfen, 2018). Digital technology has rapidly increasing the demand of

the global world. So that directors, executive change the style of cooperation while trying to

their position in global marketplace.
Afterwards, DDS firm has been decided to use SSM methodology and consider as driving
force behind its development and also increasing application across multiple domains (Hildbrand
and Bodhanya, 2017). In particularly, information system that have been adapt the SSM
methodology that will provide the major supports.
In context of SSM, it should not require to consider the problem in real sense but it always
focused on the business goals. In order to handle the complex situation and manage in proper
manner, these thing can possible when identify the problem in same situation and come to
different conclusion as per requirement (Venter and Goede, 2018). Rather it is more suitable with
soft systems thinking to describe those involvement in the context as owners, directors. This
make a clear relationship with other executives within organization.

firm for identifying and eliminating the waste. Afterwards, each and every item can be mapped
as adding more value as per customer standpoint.
It is important to keep in mind that potential consumer whether internal as well as
external care about particular product or service. in order to maintain overall model for purpose
of communication, collaboration and analysis. DDS firm is basically used the VSM methodology
which defined by lean enterprise (Hildbrand and Bodhanya, 2017). It is mainly involved in the
different steps, material and information flows needs to bring item from delivery. Sometimes,
organization is consider VSM methodology as a tool to identify waste thing in daily operations.

Gathering preliminary information: initially, it is necessary thing to gather or collect a
lot of information about the organization. DDS directors are mainly focused on the history of
product mix from previous year sales. Afterwards, it also analysed the large volume of sales for
each item sold from previous years. This type of information will be useful for organization to
create history of product mix and large volume of sales (Venter and Goede, 2018). It is an
essential thing for revealed that although DDS firm offered more than multiple items. In such
cases, DDS management has decided to limit their value stream map on particular products.
However, when management looked at the sales goal for next years. In this way, it is
targeting the people for increasing sales rate (Venter and Goede, 2018).. As a result, it can

methodology.
Developing quantity routing analysis: It is another stage where create item quantity
routing analysis and start by listing detail of each customers (Hildbrand and Bodhanya, 2017). It
ensure that each consumer stick to the basic item. DDS firm will be adding more option to

maintain the standard quality. For business improvement which necessary to reference previous
year sales rate and determine volume of each item. By using value stream mapping to calculate
the total number of sales, which showing the volume of enterprise generated form each
customers.
Customers and sort materials: it is another step to target the group of customer together
by industry. There are large number of finished piece part along with total percentage of finished
piece part (Venter and Goede, 2018).. The purpose of this step is to identify the overall item
families if it can be mapped into different pieces.
Create an operational flow chart: It is an important stage where create a flow chart of
all operation in value stream. Sometimes, it refer to work order routing or bill of materials for
product value stream (Venter and Goede, 2018). As needed to identify the different steps and
create a starting point. Generally, it is consider as sample flow chart for a hypothetical value
stream and also used the work center number of different steps. Afterwards, it applicable as
assigned the materials for resource planning.
Construct the VSM: It is last step for constructing the Value stream mapping for
measurement of separate sheet of blank paper. Generally, it can be starts with the blank paper
and begin for constructing value stream in order to indicate the each process. At every step, it
must ensure that measure appropriate metrics as need to apply in the business activities (Vahidi
and Aliahmadi, 2019).. Furthermore, it can be identified the problem during outsourcing which
fall into one of two categories such as delivery requirements and quality. The data or information
can be gathered which include lead time, sale percentage. VSM should not show the flow of
material but also focused on the flow of data.
In above discussion, it has been justified that SSM, VSM methodologies are appropriate
for implementing different action to increase sales rate from 10% to 13% on every years. in
another way, it has identified that enterprise problem and resolve them with the help of
methodologies. Digital technology always support for DDS firm is to increase the demand of
product among existing consumers. It should be analysed that alternative competitors implement
the action plan by using SSM, VSM methodology for improving overall business performance
and efficiency. On the other hand, DDS firm can be exploring its branches across the global
world. So that directors, executive change the style of cooperation while trying to increase

changes. The best way to gather or collect previous sales information while managing the each
task in step by step manner. Afterwards, soft systems methodology can apply action to do

business profitability.
SSM has been used to characterise by different activities where understand the human

thinking rather than breaking entire thing into smaller unit. In particularly, when it is useful for
understanding perception of stakeholders (Vahidi and Aliahmadi, 2019).. It can be applied the

business requirement analysis. Sometimes, it is creating an effective relationship between the
implementation requirement business analyses, practices the entire productivity and profitability

planning interactive strategic in business improvement. It has summarised about the Soft systems
methodology which is primarily used for business growth and development. In order to identify
