1EFFECT OF DIABETES IN OVER 50S
Abstract
Diabetes has become a vulnerable aspect for adolescent and aged people. Type 1 and
Type 2 diabetes have become very common among old people. This paper is mainly trying to
highlight the effectiveness of diabetes among old people of above 50 years of age. Qualitative
study has been done here for collecting secondary data. Five themes are raised which show an
argumentative study could on the whole issue. After having the outcome, it could be stated
that more advanced therapies would be needed for reducing the risk of having diabetes.
Proper diet must be needed for controlling the problems associated to diabetes.

5EFFECT OF DIABETES IN OVER 50S
Chapter 1:
1.0 Introduction to the Research
The overview of the study evaluated the framework towards highlighting the fundamental
areas of diabetes over the age group of 50 to 65 years. With the help of different research
reports along with certain secondary information published by various kinds of medical
institutions, the study developed core findings based on the fundaments of diabetic for the
mentioned age group (Holt, Cockram, Flyvbjerg and Goldstein, 2017). The growing human
and economic toll of a diabetic has caused consternation across the world. The rate of
diabetic patients increasing at an alarming rate and the most important thing to worry is of the
disease occurring at every young age (American Diabetes Association, 2018). Nevertheless,
the current research note has performed a remarkable job with the view towards analyzing the
facts and findings in the most effective manner, which allowed the current findings to outline
a defined conceptual framework (American Diabetes Association, 2019).
1.1 Operational definition
Diabetics are one of the diseases, on which the blood sugar level and the glucose level
becomes very high. Blood glucose level is the ultimate source point of energy and comes
from the food that people consumes daily (Garber et al., 2015). On the other hand, the role of
insulin contributed to the most important part of the blood sugar level. Insulin is a hormone
made by the pancreas and allowed glucose from the food to get into the cell, mainly used for
energy formation in the body (American Diabetes Association, 2018). Type one and Type
two, are the two kinds of diabetics, where the subsequent part of the study determined a
proper framework for the findings in the most effective manner (Green et al., 2015).
1.2 Background to the problem
The current issue is described in the findings evaluated the overall framework, which
combined how diabetic in the age group of people between 50-65 years has become one of
the most serious issues. The rate of the number of people suffering from the disease is
increasing at an alarming rate. Along with that, the study will prove to be very much essential
to address the percentage of people got affected with below the specific number. The number
indicated an over the percentage of around 12 in the least five years among people within the
age group of 50 and more based on certain global statistics. There are several symptoms

identified in the present research note, which described the overall percentage along with the
reason behind for its cause.
Food habits of the people along with certain health issues such as sleeplessness and
hypertension are some of the root cause for the said disease (Shah et al., 2015). Therefore, the
rationale of the study described the core context towards defining the root cause of the
findings among the people within the specific age group. Nevertheless, the analyst in the
current research findings sheds lights on all the factors, which might lead towards the root
cause of the identified issue to human health (Mata-Cases et al., 2016). Medical initiatives
that can be taken under consideration to deal with the situation have been evaluated in this
course of actions (Marso et al., 2017). Similarly, with the view towards leading healthy and
safe lifestyles, different kinds of medical initiatives combined the effectiveness of the study
along with the evolution of different kinds of collected data in the form of primary and
secondary analysis (American Diabetes Association, 2018).
1.3 Statement to the Problem
Diabetes has been serious issues for people above 50 years of age. This paper is trying to
evaluate the effect of poor management of type 2 diabetes on the health and well-being of
adults aged 50-65 years in the UK. There are different journals and articles present on this
particular issue but more explanation is required for justifying the concept effectively as
people aged between 55 and 60 is more prone to diabetes and this rate has been growing
rapidly (Perkovic et al., 2019). Research study has indicated the need for better management
of type 2 diabetes in older people because of ageing associated vascular complications, co-
existing multiple co-morbidities and increase in cognitive and physical dysfunction. Hence,
considering the presence of multi-comorbidities considering the consequence of poor
management of diabetes among people aged 50-65 years is crucial to provide adequate
support, preserve their independence and quality of life (Abdelhafiz and Sinclair 2013). The
research is also significant considering the fact that management of diabetes is much more
complicated in older adults because of the impact of multiple co-existing medical on clinical
management (Kalyani, Golden and Cefalu 2017). Hence, due to lack of convincing evidence
regarding the impact of type 2 diabetes among people aged 50-6 years, this research work is
considered important. For evaluating appropriate outcome, more evidences on proper
management of the disease on this condition would be required. In UK, old people are highly
getting trouble due to the consequences of diabetes. It has been found through analysis that,

type 2 diabetes can damage kidney and different other organs. Low immunity level is also a
major reason behind the effectiveness of diabetes at old age.
Research Aims
The present research aims to undergo the process towards identifying and analyzing the
percentage of diabetic patients aged 50-65 years in UK, identifying current diabetes
management strategy and evaluated the relationship between poor management of Type 2
Diabetes among older people in the UK.
Research Objectives
To describe the effect of diabetics among the people in the age group of 50 to 65
years
To differentiate the impact of diabetics among the people at an age group of 50-65
years by analyzing both the types
To differentiate and understand the reason behind type1 and type 2 diabetics
among the people aged 50-65 years
To uncover different researches and the best alternative solutions for the new
approaches to prevention and therapy of diabetes and its devastating
complications
To explain the role of the medical treatments for the disease along with the
associated facts and findings
Main Research Question
What is the overall impact of the Diabetic among the people aged 50-65 years
in UK?
Narrow Research Question
What are the specific reasons behind both types of diabetics (Type 1 and Type 2)?
What are the different kinds of medical treatment advisable for both of the types of
diabetics (Type 1 and Type 2) among the specific age group of 50 discussed in the
findings?
What are the different kinds of recommendations can be provided for the current
findings?
