Chapter 5
5.1 Conclusion
The study that took place gave an idea about how leadership has helped in increasing the
education standards. It also depicted the fact about how it has helped in thedramatic rise of
performance of the students, academically.A leader is the one who is supposed to carry out all
the required functionality within an organization and make sure, by his leadership skills, that
each function is being used to its fullest and that the students are being benefited from it (Allen,
Grigsby and Peters, 2015). We have also discussed the various leadership styles that are being
used worldwide that is transactional leadership, transformational leadership, servant leadership,
autocratic or authoritarian, democratic (participative) leadership, laissez-faire, and
emotional/behavior leadership (Kohle Paul and Fitzpatrick,2015). Providing quality education to
the youth of the country has always been the first priority of the educational institution (Karadağ
et al. 2015). This paper has mentioned about the five global trends that are being used to provide
quality education.By implementing the integrated trend in the High Tech High an institution
based in the US allowed the teachers to gain professional learning and teaching experience so
that they can provide a good learning experience to the learners (Choet al. 2015). All the various
other trends are being used to provide a different version of experiences to the learners.

the rectors have been in charge to take care that each and every individual of the school, starting
from the teachers to the stakeholder should take on their responsibilities with full responsibility
(McCaffery 2018). But it can be seen that the rectors of the Rabindranath Tagore secondary
school took up the transformational leadership style in order to articulate the mission and
visionof the school. The rectors used this leadership style so as to implement and make clear
about the goals of the school and communicate the expectation that is being made about the
school (Allenet al. 2016). Whereas, the teachers of the Mahatma Gandhi secondary school
adopted the democratic leadership style in which the main stress was being given in performance
planning and day to day coaching activity so as to ensure the best possible learning
experience. The adoption of different leadership styles by the rectors and teachers resulted in
positive effects on the students in Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi secondary schools
(Nauzeer, Jaunky and Ramesh,2018). Special learning classroom was arranged in Rabindranath
Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi secondary school so as to ensure much richer learning experience
and in a much adequate manner.
As the performance of the school is highly based on the performance of the students, thus
Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi secondary school's rector and the teacher took
initiatives to implement different leadership styles so as to improve the quality of education. With
the qualitative and quantitative approach of collecting and processing data so as to analyze the
data obtained for studying was helpful and gave exact figures as for how it helped the school to
provide better education quality (Ramtohul 2016). Both primary and secondary data is being
collected so that it undergoes specific research design and that exact result is being
extracted.Primary data such as age, gender, marital status, etc. and aggregated opinion scores.
Secondary data, on the other hand, is information that was collected beforehand by someone
other than the researcher. Also, several validation strategies are being used to ensure validation
of the employing survey research.
The pilot testing was being conducted on a sample size of 10 educators from the
Mahatma Gandhi secondary school (Ramful 2017). The size of the sample was deliberately taken

small as because themain motive behind the pilot testing was to check the reliability of the
questions that are being used in the survey. Also to analyze the data that is being obtained
Microsoft Excel 2007 and IBMSPSS Statistics 19 were the two software used.
Microsoft Excel was used to represent all the graphical representation and diagrams like
charts, scatter plots, and other graphs that were being used in the presentation of data.IBM SPSS
Statistics 19 was used to generate pertinent descriptive and inferential statistics for the study.
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to evaluate the types of school environments that are
created or impacted by the rectors’ respective leadership styles in Mahatma Gandhi secondary
schools as perceived by educators.
ANOVA was primarily used to test whether the means of two or more sample
populations are statistically different. A set of 100 survey questions were set and were sent to
Mahatma Gandhi secondary school located in 6 different locations in the country. All of the
questionnaires that were sent were filled and as submitted in time which shows a 100 percent
response rate from the educator. This was made possible because confidentiality was observed
and the information gathered was meant for academic purposes only. This made the respondents
give a high response rate which was considered suitable enough to give a true reflection of the
issues under study. The various graphical representations that are being used in Chapter 3
showed the representation of data that is being used for conducting the research. The graphical
representation shows the statistics of the survey conducted and thus shows the where actually the
school stands and how many have taken the initiative to provide better education to the students.
Teaching experience was also one of the main ingredients of the research. The research study
thus highlighted the use of different leadership styles which were adopted by the different

The leadership styles adoption helped in the functioning of the schools in an adequate manner.
5.2 Recommendation
One of my recommendations would be to introduce the leadership styles not only on
Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi secondary but to every institution that provides
education to the students. Incorporating these leadership styles to the institution would provide a
better education quality all over Mauritius. Also, some other recommendation would be to keep a
follow up from the students that whether or not the teachers are well informed of their respective
subject and give enough examples to make them understand. Also, feedback should be taken
from the students as for how to have an understanding of how well the leadership style is being
maintained both by the teachers and the rectors.
5.3 Future Scope
The leadership styles that the school is adopting may bring flourishing result in the near
future. As the graph shows that almost 36% of the students had a fluctuating performance over a
period of five years thus showing a promising result in the near future. As the teaching
gotimproved, thus in the near future along with primary and secondary schools, vocational
schools can also be set up in order to achieve a much better quality of education.Incorporating
vocational schools can also improve the quality of education and help the students visualize what
they study in an instant (Sawrey, Copsey and Milner-Gulland,2017). Also as the working hours
for the teacher become flexible, students will be able to contact their teacher for any problem at
any time of the day provided the teacher is available.

As education is considered to be the most important aspect of life worldwide thus
incorporating leadership styles will automatically arrange and automate the quality of education
to get improved and to help the teachers to provide a better learning experience to the students.
School reformers, who had recently centered solely on problematic changes from outside the
framework, are beginning to concentrate more on the need to sustain instructor administration to
enhance state-funded training.
Women’s developments are building up a dream of "national authority that mirrors the
world we live in" and, they can fortify instructor administration in a calling that has verifiably
been kept down by sexual orientation predisposition. Educational innovations, whenever
actualized accurately, can produce critical gains in understudy execution and increment
commitment, particularly among the understudies who are most in danger and these equivalent
apparatuses are accessible to educators who are presently driving their very own proficient
learning(Milner-Gulland, Sawrey and Copsey,2017).
Researchers are amassing proof of the permanent connection between instructors'
learning/administration and understudy accomplishment, and this information will help guard
new training ventures for guardians who keep on giving A or B evaluations to their state-funded
schools. New learning alliances are beginning to be manufactured like the one that is progressing
at the UCLA Center for School Transformation to interface instructors and executives of
customarily represented school regions and superb papers. Adjusted necessities for evaluation
and revealing ought to be set up, guaranteeing a non-bureaucratic methodology, Objective
introduction, instructive methodology.

Also with the up gradation of the technology, several new teaching styles can be
incorporated into the school premises such as e-learning or audio video learning (Rao and
Suhasini,2017). E-learning helps a student to watch and learn rather than just to listen to what the
teacher has to say. Research has been conducted and it was found out that things that we watch
with our own eyes are easier to remember rather than something that we just hear. Thus with
proper teaching experience and proper teaching environment schools can provide a much better
learning experience to the students that have the hunger to learn and the urge to know more.
5.3.1 Limitation
The analysis that was done in Chapter 4 shows the varied opinions of the respondent for
each survey questionnaire. One of the main limitations is that not all respondent can come to a
single conclusion and thus provides a varied response for each of the questions.
5.3.2 Suggestions
The data that was analyzed depicted that the rectors have been discouraging the fact that
the students or the teachers are thinking something out of the box. This has to be improved and
the students or the teacher should be allowed to make out of the box thinking. Having an ocean
of ideas may sometime extract some extraordinary ideas that could help the schools to grow at an
extraordinary rate.
