This study analyzes the effect of different leadership styles adopted by rectors and teachers on the academic performance of students in Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi secondary schools of Mauritius. The study highlights the importance of leadership in improving the quality of education and discusses various leadership styles such as transactional, transformational, servant, autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire, and emotional/behavioral leadership. The study recommends the incorporation of leadership styles in all educational institutions and suggests keeping a follow-up from students to ensure the effectiveness of leadership styles.
