INTRODUCTION
Effective communication and team work play vital role in success and growth of
individuals as well as companies where they work to achieve desire aim and reach set objectives.
Communication aid to boost morale and confidence level among people who attempt to work
together for varied reasons. It driven the attention of individual person toward performing and
working within team work. The current assignment will explain models of communication and
skills related to this term. Furthermore, the report will also define the appropriate examples of
poor communication and recommendations related to improving that by using findings from
published literature.
TASK
Demonstrating models of communication and interaction skills
Without effective communication, no one in the workplace are able to achieve strategic
aims and set objectives. It is important for employees to consider the useful models or concepts
of communication and these are:
SMCR model of communication-
This concept is developed or designed by David Berlo, which may represent the effective
and useful procedure of effective communication in the simplest manner. This model stands for
sender, message, channel, and receiver (Nandi, 2021). According to this concept, individual
person may concentrate on process of sending message, for which it is important to utilize the
best method or mode of effective interaction. The selection of communication approach, enable
individuals or workers to interact with other in clear and systematic manner. It may also allow
them to share important information with whom they want to share with. According to first
element, sender may effort to choose the most effective source of information through which
they may convey message or send it to receiver in proper manner. Their knowledge and
communication skills play viral role in the context of this procedure. Message is another
component o SMCR model that is considered as substance which is being sent by specific sender
to a receiver, who are able to use information properly in the workplace.

INTRODUCTION
Communication can be defined as the process of transferring the behaviours, concepts,
ideas, imaginations and written content from one person to another. There are various ways in
which the transfer of information take place (Tay and et. al., 2021). It has been found that there
are three important elements which include sender, a medium and a receiver. Sender is the
person who deliver the information. That person have the complete understanding of the
information what they want to deliver. On the other hand, receiver refers to the person who
receive the information send by sender . Medium of communication can be defined as means of
conveying meaning to people. Below mentioned report is based on the study of corporate
communication by analysing the models and skills of communication. This report also include
examples of poor communication at a work place and analyse the various ways how can the
problem of communication can be improved at the work place.
CASE SCENERIO
There were four case study which were discussed in the class i.e. A day with the chief,
The professor and the village people, Max the Multitasker and the last one is Maria and Pedro.
This report is based on the last case study which explain the conversation of Maria and Pedro. In
the give given case study, Pedro is the husband of Maria and working on a site of building. One
day, over a phone conversation he misunderstood the word chicken as kitchen because of barrier
in the communication.
MAIN BODY
Q: Why do you think Pedro misunderstood Maria?
It is found that, may be the presence of barrier of communication, this misunderstanding
take place. Because of not being able to see the non verbal cues, postures, general body language
and gestures, communication will be not effective. It is found that the text messages, phone calls
and other methods of communication which involve technology are less effective as compared to
the face to face communication. Because of social distance and physical barrier, Pedro
misunderstood Pedro.

INTRODUCTION
Workplace communication is defined as the process of transmitting information
throughout a business firm. Effective workplace communication beneficial to the employer and
employees of the company as it reduces conflict, improves employee engagement and team
performance (Angouri, 2018). In addition to this, effective business communication plays an
important role in building strong relationship with consumer. This report looks at different
models of communication and their role in facilitating effective workplace communication.
Communication skills which impact business communication are described in this report.
Communication models and skills are utilized to identify ways of improving poor
communication at the workplace.
MAIN BODY
Demonstration of understanding of models of communication
Aristotle's model of communication
This model if communication looks at one directional communication and focuses on
improving communication skills by examining various aspects of specific situation. This
communication model describes five elements of communication which need to be analysed in
order to enhance communication capabilities. The five elements according to this model are
speaker, speech, occasion, target audience and effect (Chan, 2019). As per this model credibility
and expertise of the speaker refereed to as ethos, ability to construct emotional connection
termed as pathos and presence of logic described as logos. This model facilitates effective
workplace communication by describing elements which help develop effective speaker who can
influence target audience with communication.
Benefits: The primary advantage of Aristotle's model of communication is that it is
speaker centric and describes ways to influence the target audience through communication. This
model of communication is beneficial for employees at leadership position as it can be used to
influence workforce and direct the firm towards success.
Limitations: This communication model does include gaining feedback in the
communication process which restricts listeners from effective interaction with the speaker
(Chen, 2021). This limitation negatively impacts business communication as continuous
