This comparative study review discusses the positive and negative impacts of electronic health record (EHR) based on two articles found on the Canadore-Nipissing Library website. The positive benefits article highlights the advantages of EHR, such as improved access to healthcare data, positive patient-doctor relationships, and improved adherence to medications. On the other hand, the negative impact article discusses the unintended consequences of poor EHR implementation, such as EHR-related errors, medication errors, and decreased quality of care. The author's opinion is that while EHR can eliminate manual errors, healthcare professionals should not rely solely on these electronic records for patient care. The complexity of computers and confusing interfaces might lead to errors due to oversight role, ultimately harming the patient during their treatment.
