1.0Introduction
Academic skills can be described as the skills which consist different types of academic
writing, referencing, presentation skill which is used for purpose of the explaining of the
different complex skills like reflective practices and critical thinking. This project report
includes the analyzation of electric vehicles (Aghabali and et. al., 2020). Electric vehicles
become the popular nowadays due to the its eco-friendly nature and government support. In
the present time, there is increasing environmental concern and in order to overcome of these
issues and concerns, it is important for the government of the country to adopt electric
vehicles. It allows the country to control the city pollution and allow to balance the
environment. This project report includes the analysis and evaluation of the market of electric
vehicles. It also consists of various advantages of electric cars. It also explains the
disadvantages of using the electric vehicles. Moreover, it explains support to be offered by
the UK government for the transition of electric vehicles.
2.0Literature Review
To analyse the concept of electric vehicle
As per the point of view of Anwar (2022) Electric Vehicles are those vehicles which run
through electricity or batteries. They avoid to use petrol which is considered as harmful
fossil fuel to harm environment. The main motive of promote electric vehicles is to reduce
the carbon emissions which are created by petrol vehicles.
To identify the advantages of electric vehicle
According to the Makela (2022) there are various kinds of advantages for using electric
vehicles. One of the most important benefit as well as reason to promote electric vehicles
are concern to environment. Electric vehicle can reduce the carbon emission within the
environment which are mostly generated through petrol vehicles. Secondly, the electric
vehicles need low maintenance charges.

As per the perspective of Skowron (2022) people are moving to use electric vehicles but
there are many disadvantages also to use them in future. It is identified that electric cars are
used to reduce carbon emissions but this fact is also true that electric cars generate more
emission in manufacturing process as compared to petrol car manufacturing. On the other
hand, electric cars are also considered expensive for their customers and due to lack of
charging points the people avoid to purchase these cars.
3.0 Analysis and Evaluation
Here, the report will first discus about the information related to Electric Vehicle Market.
Statistical data is covered within this section. Advantages and disadvantages of electric
vehicle are also discussed by using the journals and articles written and published by well
known authors to ensure tha reliability and validity.
The main body of this report also covers the government support to enhance the use of
electric vechles by reducing the challenges faced by people to use electric cars. The data of
this section is related to secondary data which is collected through articles presented on
internet and official government websites.
3.1 The Electric Vehicles (EV) Market
Electric vehicles are the vehicles which are using an electric motor for purpose of
propulsion. Vehicles which can be powered through a collector system in which electricity
comes from extravascular sources or it can be source through the battery. Electric vehicles
include road vehicle, surface vehicles, railway vehicle electric aircraft underwater vessels
as well as electric spacecraft. These electric vehicles get popular nowadays with increasing
number of concerns in the environment (Canepa, Hardman and Tal, 2019). The global
value of electric car is valued at a $163.01 billion in the year 2020 and it is expected to
increase its reach at $823075 in the year 2030 with the registration of CAGR 18.2%. There
are different types of factors that are contributing to the purpose of increasing the demand
of these vehicles like increasing the popularity of the fuel-efficient car, increasing
regulation of government, increasing environmental awareness among the people and other
things. But there are some other factors like lack of charging station, higher cost of the
manufacturing, lack of efficiency and other factors which make the vehicle less suitable for
the current business environment. Covid-19 is also one of the factors which is creating an
impact on the market as the growth of electric vehicles is growing day by day. There is an

increasing cost of the product which makes the cost of electric vehicles. It creates a
negative impact over the sales of the electric vehicle. There is an increasing number of
registrations of electric vehicle which make it larger and wider. There is increasing
environmental awareness among the people as they are concerned for the increasing level
of pollutants in the environment which create an impact on the health of people. Due to
such aspect, the demand of these vehicles also rises.
3.2 Advantages of Electric Cars
Electric vehicles have a number of advantages for the customers, environment, company as
well as society. It will create various positive impacts which will increase the demand of
these vehicles in the market (Cheng and et. al., 2018). These vehicles also get support from
the government which is important in order to promote environmental sustainability. There
is increasing environmental awareness among the people which will increase the demand of
these vehicles in the marketplace. These are benefitted for people as it does not require gas.
The cost of these vehicles is also less which is also a good point for the customers to
consider these vehicles. Explanations of different advantages of these electric vehicles are
mentioned below:
No need for gas: Electric cars are those vehicles that are charged through the electricity
offered and due to this, a person does not need to buy gas again. Using of fuel-based cars
can be expensive for a person as prices of fuel are high in comparison to electricity-based
cars (Mohd Sabri, Danapalasingam and Rahmat, 2018). For instance on an average basis,
around 15 cents to be paid out by an American person for traveling a mile with a vehicle
which is based on gas whereas an electricity-based vehicle can travel 5 cents for a mile. It is
less expensive in comparison to gas-based or fuel-based vehicles. If the electric is charged
through the garage installed solar panel, then the cost of the price of the product can further
cut more and also it save the power for the home. It helps them to avoid the total cost which
is around $2000 to $4000 for every year.
Electric car reduce emission: Electric car are vehicle that helps to reduce emission
through the reduction of fuel usage which is important for electric vehicle. These are the
vehicle which is dependent on the rechargeable battery which does not contribute to the
emission that is one of the major sources for purpose of pollution (Fang and et. al., 2020).
Using of rechargeable battery means different energy to be used in business is based on
domestically. In present time, there is improvement in the technology of the life of the

battery which allow them to drive more 100 miles as these vehicles is consuming around
25-to-40-kilowatt hours of electricity.
High performance and low maintenance: Electric vehicle are the high-performance
vehicle which are working in an efficient manner. These vehicles are quiet as well as
smooth and does not require much maintenance in comparison to combustion vehicles.
Driving experience of driving an electric vehicle is fun as this work quickly and also make
responsive with the good torque. These vehicles are light which will enhance the overall
driving experience of the driver. Electric vehicles are new concept for people in compare to
the conventional vehicle (Huang and et. al., 2022). These electric vehicles are also
connected digitally with the charging stations which provide more control to the app.
Safe for drive: Electric car are the vehicles which is introduced in the market after
different fitness as well as testing procedures. These cars are safer in comparison to the
conventional vehicle as it is based on a lower level of gravity which makes it more stable
for traveling on the road. In situations of accidents, it is expected by a person that airbags
are open immediately and also the supply of electricity is also cut down. It is important for
purpose of preventing accidents and also to save the life of the passengers. It is also
protecting them from the serious injuries which makes these vehicles safer. There are also
fewer chances for these vehicles to explode in absence of use of any combustible vehicle.
3.3 Disadvantages of Electric Cars
There are a number of disadvantages of using these electric vehicles for the people and the
environment. An electric vehicle provides different benefits in life of a person but at the
same time, it also creates different types of disadvantages for a person (Qin and et. al.,
2018). These are the vehicles that also generate emissions and also it is not convenient for
long-distance traveling. Explanations of these disadvantages of electric vehicles are
mentioned below:
Electric cars create more emission: Electric vehicle are vehicles that claim to be eco-
friendly vehicles but the manufacturing process of these vehicles release more greenhouse
has. There are different types of resources to be required for the purpose of manufacturing
of the car and these resources are created through the process of mining which results in the
release of the greenhouse gas (Li and et. al., 2020). These raw material needs to be refined
again which is again releasing more greenhouse gases. These gases also releasing from the
manufacturing process. Production of the diesel and petrol-based vehicle releasing of the

tonnes of the Co2. The electric car also releases the same amount of Co2. Due to all such
reasons, electric cars are not actually an eco-friendly car which is creating a threat to the
environment.
Expensive to buy: Electric cars are the expensive vehicle in comparison to the
conventional vehicles. Electric vehicles claim to be cheaper but purchasing price of these
vehicles are higher which will increase the cost. It requires at least 30 minutes charging
with a fast recharge with the charging point. The cost of this charging at a service station is
around £6 which is less than the cost of petrol and diesel for a gallon. There are also
dedicated charging points that can be offered at the house of a home of person which allows
them to charge overnight and also allow them to travel for around a mile which cost them
for £2 (Li and et. al., 2020). It is cheaper in many contexts as it does not require changing
the oil an also moving parts. The battery of these vehicles is also highly reliable and also it
consists of a long warranty. These are the longer-term ownership which makes these cars
cheaper but for the short term, it creates high costs which makes it difficult for people to
purchase these vehicles.
Not compatible for long-distance travelling: With time, technology is improving which
allow companies to ensure the improvement in different types of products to be offered by
them. With the improvement in technology, electric cars now can travel for around 300
miles but most of these vehicles can be charged for around 150 miles or less with one
charge (Song and et. al., 2019). Due to this, these vehicles are more suited to the cities and
local journeys and is not compatible with traveling long distance. These vehicles also take
around half an hour for purposes of recharging which is also wasting the time of the driver.
This time is more in comparison to fuel-based vehicles. There is also a shortage of fuel
stations in long distances which makes it difficult for people to charge these vehicles.
Shortage of charging points: There are limited numbers of charging stations in different
locations. In the year 2022, there are around 33996 electric vehicles which are offering in
20534 locations. These charging station can be increased in the year 2025 which allow
them to access to charging (Lipu, and et. al., 2021). Availability of the number of charging
stations is important for purpose of making the electric vehicle more convenient for a
person. For purpose of filling the electric vehicle, proper time is required. For overcoming
of this problem, people installed the charging point at their home. But making the concept

of the electric vehicle more popular, it is important to increase the number of charging
stations.
3.4 How the UK Government is Supporting the transition to Electric Vehicles
The government of the country also makes different types of initiatives in order to
support to electric cars. The government is also concerning for the environment and in
order to control the pollution level, different types of initiatives are made by those people.
Explanation of some of these actions to be made by the government are mentioned below:
 Focusing on increasing the number of charging points in the county. It is important in
order to increase the trust of people in electric vehicles and also for making these
vehicles more convenient.
 The government also offers subsidies to the people who are using electric vehicles. It
is important in order to increase the interest of people in using such vehicles
(Mohammadkhani, Sedighizadeh and Esmaili, 2018).
 The government is also making different campaigns in order to increase awareness for
these electric vehicles. It is important in order to make people educated about the
benefits of these people for them and also for the government.
4.0 Conclusion
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that electric vehicle is considered as one
of measure for controlling environmental pollution. It is an essential component for the government
of the country, their people and also for the environment. In recent times, there is an increase in the
demand of electric car among people. The reason behind the increase in the demand is its benefits
for the customers. These cars are pocket-friendly and effective vehicle that will enhance the
experience of the customers. These are light and also does not require much maintenance which is
important factors to be considered by the customers at the time of purchase of the electric vehicles.
There are some disadvantages of using these electric vehicles due to which customer think before
the purchase of the electric vehicle. The initial purchase price of these products is high which makes
the cost of these products higher. There is also a limited number of charging stations which makes
these vehicles more inconvenient for people.
5.0 Recommendations:
 It is recommended to companies that they must analyse the affordability of their
customers and must offer electric cars within low prices and this is only possible
when they control their cost. They should manage their raw material appropriately
without wastage. They should hire labour of low cost and many other activities will

help them to minimize their cost. This will further help them to make electrical cars
on low cost to offer them in low prices in market.
 It is also recommended to the government that they must 8invest high for creating
charging points after every few kilomoters. The main obstacle to use electric
cars is that the users did not found any charging point at long way to the
road. Hence, this challenge can be mitigated by making charging points at
different locations.

Reflective Statement
Challenges to occur during the project
There are different types of challenges to occur during completing this research. These problems
make it difficult for me to gather the data and also for purpose of completing the project on time.
Explanation of some of these challenges to be faced by me are mentioned below:
 Time management is one of the challenges to be faced by me is related to the management of
time. While studying, I need to attend classes in the university on a daily basis. I need to
attend different classes which is important for me in order to improve my knowledge and also
for maintaining the attendance regulation. I also need to find out some time for my family and
friends. I need to take out my pet on the walk and also need to save some time for the purpose
of self-study (Brandlistuen, and et. al., 2021). For manage all these things, I need to manage
the time in an effective manner but I face difficulty for purpose of all this work which creates
stress for me.
 Another problem that faced by me is related to the authentication of the source. In order to
complete this project, I need to conduct proper research. For this, I have gathered information
from different sources like libraries, the internet, teachers, textbooks and other places. But
before using this information, individual needs to find out whether the information found
them are relevant for them or not. It is important to use the information from the right and
authentic source in order to complete the research in an effective manner.
 Some other problem faced by me related to this research is that I am an introverted person and
feel hesitation while communicating with others. In relation to this research, different types of
confusion are there which make things complicated for me. It creates problems for me in
order to ask a question in the classroom from the teachers (Keen, Adams and Simpson, 2021).
It also makes it complicated for me to overcome of the confusion that comes in my mind
which makes it difficult for me to complete the project and also it increases the time to be
taken for completion of the project.

Reasons due to which I enjoy this project
There are different things in this project which I enjoyed and makes it easy for me to complete
project. Explanation of these things which makes me to enjoy this project are mentioned below:
 I got one of the most interesting topics for purpose of completing the project. This project is
totally based on the electric car which is increasingly popular nowadays. It makes it easy for
me to complete this project. I am also interested in buying of an electric car which makes me
to enjoy this project (Alipichev and Takanova, 2020).
 Another component of this project which I like the most is that I am good in research which
allows me to gather the data and use it effectively for purpose of completing of this project.
Researching is important for a person in order to identify the right and valid information. It
allows them to upgrade and also be involved in new information identification.
 There are different lessons to be learned by me from this module. It is important for a person
to gather different types of knowledge which is important for them in order to improve
themselves. These lessons make me upgrades and also help me for purpose of ensuring my
overall development.
 These lessons to be learned by me includes how to understand a problem and finding out the
solutions. Identification of the problem is one of the important components which is to be
used by me for purpose of ensuring the overall development.
Lesson learnt and area of improvement
I have also identified different areas where I need to ensure improvement. These areas of
improvement allow me to enhance my skills and also makes me capable enough to grab new
opportunities. On basis of these improvements, I am also able to develop a career in my field of
interest. Some of these areas of improvement identified by me are mentioned below:
 Time management skills is one of the skills that I need to ensure improvement. It is a skill that
allows me to ensure the availability of different types of productive work and provide e
guidance about how to save time for productive work. It allows me to complete the project
next time in future to complete the project by finding out time for other important work
(Amini and Samani, 2021).
 Another improvement that I need to ensure is related to the improvement in my
communication skills. On basis of it, I can communicate with anyone in fewer words without
any confusion. It also makes me more confident and I do not need to be hesitant to ask
questions from others. It also increases my possibility for purpose of getting opportunities in
the future period of time.
 I also develop problem-solving skills during this completion of the project which will also
guide me in the future. There are different types of problems to have occurred in the life of

the student during the completion of the project. I can develop this skill by taking initiative in
important work which makes me more capable.
I also develop decision making skills which is important in order to make important decisions. It is a
skill that is important for a person in order to make decisions. It helps a person to get out of the
complexities and also trouble and makes them able to be capable.
