CE 2.2.1 Characteristics of the project
This was my first project in professional career. I started my work in the tender stage
by simply providing various quantities to the department of Tender and then assisting to
provide a cost-effective design in the primary stages. I even provided instructions to the
tendering team for providing lesser costing. Furthermore, I had even gone through the
compact design and then, provided the respective design brief report to show value addition
designs like reducing cable sizes, the sizes of the cable trays, and even the sizes of breaker.
For completing the drawings of lighting layout, with the help of the Dialux software with the
details of circuitry, power layouts, cable layouts, single-line diagram with the voltage drop

CE 2.2 Project Background
CE 2.2.1 Characteristics of the project

CE 2.2.2 Objectives developed for the project

started with providing a preliminary design or skeleton drawings for low voltage and extra
low voltage. The skeletons for low voltage were made for lighting layout with Dialux, power
as well as cable routing layout. For Extra Low voltage, I have made skeletons for IT/TEL,
public address and security services. Since, I was doing ELV design for the first time, this
project was extremely vital for me. Therefore, in order to complete my project and generating
power by designing an electric circuit, I have developed the following objectives:
To view the design of facility layout with the necessary components as well as items.
To make an estimate of the optimal BOQ for a better design or layout making.
To utilize the software of Dialux for the lighting layout preparation and the software
of DOC to prepare main single-line diagram within the process.

I was appointed as the Senior Design Engineer in design and build for this entire
project. My working part mainly included reviewing the conceptual buildings, contract
drawings, as well as BOQs from client. I even made the execution drawings under this
standards by providing a complete design of electrical circuitry.

2.3.4.1 Issues
Although I was quite confident for using the software of Dialux, I had faced some
issues in this project and these are as follows:
i) I was not able to import the primary layout in the software for some of the
compatibility issues within the design file.
ii) The second issue that I faced here was I could not design the facility properly in
the first attempt and I had to change the design completely.
iii) The final issue that I came across in this project is that I could not apply the value
engineering in first attempt.
2.3.4.2 Solutions
I suggested some of the most relevant solution to all the above mentioned issues after
consulting with my project manager. The identified solutions are listed as following:
i) The first imported file was revised with proper compatible mode.
