INTRODUCTION
The hospitality industry is extremely wide category of fields within the service sector. It
mainly covers food and drink service, lodging, theme parks, event planning , travel and tourism.
It comprises tourism agencies, hotels and restaurants, together with bars. This industry is highly
customer focused that is why the companies in this industry prioritise their customer and delivers
huge satisfaction and experiences with their services. The hospitality industry is highly depend
on the arbitrary income (Araslı and Arıcı, 2019). The respective industry denotes as the one of
the greatest employment creators as well as economic contributors. This industry is evolving and
expanding in new manners. Addition to this, forward-thinking hoteliers should always be alert of

relevant and competitive among other key players. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is selected to
complete this report. It is a five-star hotel, situated in the Knightsbridge, London. This was
originally opened in 1908 as the Hyde Park Hotel. It is highly known for germinating some of
the most sought-after properties across the world. This group delivers synchronal luxury with its
signature oriental charm. In the following report, there is a discussion about leadership and its
traits in context of the chosen organisation. It will also outline different types of leadership styles
(Bavik, 2019). Then, it will shed lights on the organisational responsibility, along with
responsible leadership. Corporate social responsibility will also be examined in this report. Its
benefits to selected organisation, wider community, involving hospitality industry, civil society
and government will be highlighted. At the end, social media, together with its benefits will be
explained. As it also covers some major risks that could affect the organisation will also be

Leadership can be denoted as the process by which an individual can lead, direct,
influence and motivate the behaviour and act of others towards the attainment of common
aspirations of an organisation. It refers as the ability of a leader or manager to stimulate the
subordinates to work with zeal and confidence. In addition to Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, the
leader of this organisation inspires others to enact and direct the ways that they act. Also, they
must be personable enough for their followers to obey their orders, while, they must have critical

thinking skills to acknowledge the best manner to exploit the resources at the business's disposal
(Bhat and Sharma, 2021).
Leadership traits represents as the individual qualities that define the great leaders. It is
the ability of a leader to direct their subordinates, teams or organisation toward the
accomplishment of business goals. It helps in boosting efficiency and achieve the organisational
and strategic goals. In context of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, the following are some
leadership traits that an effective leader should possess while leading others in their team.
Effective communicators: It is one of the greatest quality that an effective leader should
carry with them. It is essential that an effective leader must be able to understandably and
