INTRODUCTION
Employability is defined as set of achievements such as skills comprehending and
personal attributes that makes individuals more able to gain employment and become a
successful employee in their chosen career pathway. It also described as key attribute of a person
that make students capable to gain and maintain specific professional role after completing their
graduation. The current study will be based on hospitality sector, which falls under the category
of top successful sectors in the world. The assignment will explain specific career aim, target
role, and resources. Furthermore, the report will also specify gaps that I tend to close and action
plan.
TASKS.
Career aims
After completing my graduation, I would like to be a manager and fulfil key
responsibilities related to this career pathway while working in hospitality industry in 3-5 years. I
want to work in this sector as a manager, because I am interested in this job role. For next 3 to 5
eras I want to be there, where I will grab more benefits related to my career growth whether it is
in the context of personal or professional term.
It is fact that my aim is to perform as skilled and productive manager in selected industry,
where employers tend to hire and select those candidates who are able to achieve strategic aims
& objectives of their companies. I am quite interested to become a manager in a specific
company, that is well reputed and progressive in hospitality sector.
It is quite important for individual person, especially graduates to create long term plans
and set ambitions, which drive their concentration toward unexpected success. Like them, I also
tend to set long term plan and that is to grab high position in an organization after fulfilling roles
and responsibilities as a manager, that is important for me to do so.
Target role and its requirements
Person Specs: It is basically describes as the information regarding the qualifications,
personal and professional experience, skills and many others. It tends to provide description for
getting to know about person's abilities and skills required for the job role (Looking for that
perfect career, 2021). As being one of the crucial document for the process of recruiting and
selection.

achieving success. Not just that but it also tends to aid in improving overall working and
operations of hotels for clearing their vision as well as achieving target. Various necessity

Managing: Being one of the major entails which is required for the management
purpose. An important task that a hospitality manager must look forward to planning and
strategizing the workforce as well as resource management (Madera, Dawson and Neal, 2017).
Not just that but also aims to manage budgets of hotels for improving the working with customer
satisfaction. In addition, observe analyse and control various expenditure incurred.
Customer Service: Another reason for job role being necessity to provide their
customers with great experience and services. With providing them facilities regarding greeting
them, getting to know about their requirements and providing them with satisfaction.
What makes this job attractive is being able to improve my managerial skill. As with
having good management skills I am able to easily organize and manage workforce effectively.
Another reason I found this job attractive with having responsibility of analysing, observing and
providing inputs for hotel to achieve goal. Apart from that also being able to work with different

people having different cultures and diversities so, that get to know more different people and
thinkings. This job also being attractive I am able to meet new people and communicate with
them providing with job satisfaction, as being a people person. In addition, get an opportunity to
travel and observe different places. As some, of the hospitality industry includes travel and
tourism chances. Along with that, found this job attractive because of salary potential, having
certain roles in the sector that may be financially independent.
What are the gaps I will need to close
I want to achieve my personal long term goal, which make me capable to develop
understanding about employers expectations and requirements within hospitality industry related
to manager position. It enables me to grow rapidly and successfully with proper comprehending
about several things regarding employment term. I do not recently meet all the requirements and
person specification, because of not posing better understanding related to varied skills. I seek to
fill and close the gaps in term of developing skills that I need and required to used to perform
role of manager in the industry where I tend to work for next 3–5 years. Skills development is
quite essential and beneficial, because it enhanced performance and productivity level of all
candidates who take part in this process (Bean and et.al., 2018).
In order to give the best possible opportunities to secure the role of manager, I can utilize
advanced and digital technologies, for purpose of obtaining information about methods that I will
use to develop set of competencies. By developing required skills I will secure my chosen role or
profession and play vital role in term of aim achievement. I want to develop time management,
IT, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills, which is important for me to do that in
effective and systematic manner. It is fact that when a person have set of competencies and better
knowledge about a field in which they are interested, it makes them capable to reach desire
outcome which is not that easy for anyone to do so. I have to use specific technique and method
to develop require skills. For example, action plan is the best approach that has been used by
varied individuals. It may provide chance to develop essential and helpful skills, knowledge and
attributes (Peasland and et.al, 2019).
Building professional network
It is necessary to build a professional network for individuals, because it may provide
them chance to interact with those experience holders who have set of skills and knowledge in
bulk about varied things. I want to build a wide professional network among which in tend to add

professionals who belong to the field of management and are working within hospitality sector.
With these individuals I will get a lot of benefits in bulk that I can not be able to expect. I am
going to add people to my network with collaborating with people who have experience in this
industry. Apart from that also attend various seminars of experts which aids in expanding my
network and being able to add more individuals. I may also try to contact various people who
have experience about improving and upgrading and try to add them in my network.
Action plan
Career development is important and it is possible when individuals have useful
competencies. Action plan is one of those components that I will use to develop essential skills
related to my chosen profession such as manager.
