Know yourself
I am studying BSc (Hons) Events and Entertainment Management. This course is all about the
important role of events and entertainment in the life of organization and individual. This course
is totally based on the knowledge and confidence related to management linked with events and
entertainment in order to explore the requirement of this growing industry. In addition, this
course provides practical experience related to events, capstone projects, learning through field
activities and guest lectures. This course also helps in developing problem-solving skills along
with creativity in the field of event and entertainment by offering ample amount of current
practices going on in this industry (GSM London, 2019).
I am looking for that kind of career which will offer me a challenging opportunity in order to
implement my creativity and skill which I have learned from my course. According to me BSc
(Hons) Events and Entertainment Management is only the course which can provide me both
kind of opportunity to improve my career journey because if we will not face challenges, we will
not improve (ISBU, 2019). In addition to this, from an earlier age, I have a very strong
connection with events and entertainments which has triggered me to choose this course.
Clifton Gallup Strengths
According to Clifton Gallup, for career development interest, education and aim play an
important role but strength plays a very significant role in the development of career. According
to Gallup, there are some basic which are connected to the strength drives of an individual which
guides them towards success because they form the ground rubrics for person development
(Rath, Conchie and Magazine, 2009). In addition to this, they also help us in identifying more
satisfied career goal by mapping our career journey right from college so that individual can
utilize their available time in understand credential aspects that can provide benefits in long term
for their successful career.
Johari window model
While Johari window is considered as one of the important tools which are very useful in
improving self-awareness and common understanding among the individuals which are part of a
group (Halpern, 2009). This model is often linked with the enhancement of behaviour, soft skill,
cooperation and interpersonal development which has great impact on enhancing the career
development of an individual. This model mainly focuses on building trust within the individual
with the help of communication in various surroundings.
As per these theories I was able to find out three key strengths in me related to my career
development. One is a developer; another is includer and third is discipline (Saxena, 2015). I
believe that this strength will help me in grooming my professional career in events and

understanding the main elements of theories it can be said that only having knowledge is not
enough in this competitive world (Nair and Naik, 2010). Only strength is the feature which
makes us different from others and therefore I have decided to focus on my strength and try to
groom this strength to their best level through attending various workshops linked with
enhancing self-awareness in order to have clarity about the role of my strengths as per the
available situations. In addition to this, this theory also helped me to understand myself better by
offering me a series of benchmark on which I can evaluate my strength.

find Time based and Evolve events two best company for my career development. Both these
companies are associated with corporate events activities. Time-based has established its

only achieve it with the combined efforts of the team (Time based, 2019). This organization
mainly focused on events that focus on the brand message, corporate goal, and values which are
related to passion. These corporate believe in inspiring, encouraging and triggering the passion
of the people (Eurich, Oertel and Boutellier, 2010). Value of this organization is to offer services
which are beyond the expectation of the audience along with commitment towards strong
business ethics. Event Company was established in 2002, having its base in Birmingham. This
company is also considered as one of the multi-service agency in the UK. This company is in the
business of creating, design and delivering all types of shapes (Event Company, 2019). This
company is having almost 15 years of experience in event management and mostly operating on
UK ground. This company believes in transforming vision into reality despite considering
financial status of the customer organization because their working pattern is very unique from
other companies which offer them competitive advantage, especially for small budget customers
(Sonnenberg and vom Brocke, 2014). This company forms their values by developing a strong
customer base and believes that corporate governance is very essential for the success of any
business which displays their ethics.

same way, I also believe that in order to compete for a task, one of the most important aspects is
the level of involvement of the team members in the task because this decided the success of the
task in an effective and efficient manner.

In future, I am looking for the post of entertainment manager because this post is actually one of
the most demanding posts in this growing industry. It is the duty of the entertainment manager to
manage events, elements associated with those events like artists and their performance

manager successful in their career are networking, flexible people skill, time management and
problem-solving. The key tasks of the entertainment manager are generated publicity, plan
budget of the event and explore the possible mistake that can occur at any time and make
arrangements to handle such situations.

As per my research the skills sets which are needed for the job of entertainment manager are
event planning, use of social media and ability to solve problem. My CV is directly
