INTRODUCTION
Self awareness is the ability to know their own values, beliefs, skills and knowledge.
There are different types of theories of self awareness which helps to know the capacity of
introspection. Employability skills is that in which are employer looking for individual have
different skills and knowledge. It is very important for the future development of an individual.
By improving various skills such as communication, problem solving and technical skills which
helps to manage the appropriate task in specific situation. Event and entertainment management
is the process of application which includes different elements such as planning, coordinating,
implementation of the events in a world. For effective management the person must have the
ability to take appropriate decision based on the specific situation.
1 Develop employability skills and increase self awareness for the future career development
There are different types of employability skills which are employer looking for
employee or peoples have various skills such as communication, problem solving, teamwork,
planning and organizing, technical, learning. These all are the skills of employability which helps
to increase their knowledge in the world. Self awareness theory helps to increase skills and
professional development of an individual (de Guzman and Choi, 2013). To improve an
employability skills in the company or in the world they need to follow different types of
theories of self awareness. Peoples should have effective and efficient skills so that they can
easily work together to get desired objective. There are many benefits of having good
employablity skills which helps to get desired goal in the world or company (Rasul and Mansor,
2013).
Self awareness
Self awareness is the capacity to introspection and the ability to identify oneself as the
individual separate from the environment and the other individuals. The person can easily finds
out their own values, beliefs, skills, knowledge, behaviour and attitude. It provides the ability to
find out the habits thoughts and behaviour of ourselves. By knowing these factors the individual
can easily increase their knowledge and skills in the world. There are different types of theories
and models which helps to know ourselves (Ju, Zhang and Pacha, 2012).
Self awareness theory
Self awareness theory helps to identify ourselves by the values, behaviours and the
attitude. Most of the time peoples cannot recognize their own skills and beliefs so they should

apply different types of self awareness theory which helps to know ourselves (Pârvu, Ipate and
Mitran, 2014) It has most important role in the employability skills because when individual
know their skills and knowledge then only they can increase them. It is very important to know
what are all the skills and values you have (Jones, 2013).
Self awareness theory helps for future development
To increase the knowledge and skills in the world they should know their own ability.
When peoples or individual know they not have good skills and knowledge then only they can
increase them by applying different strategies and approaches. For the future development in
event and entertainment management an individual should have good communication skills,
problem solving and learning skills. Person should have good time management skills which
help to manage their work in any event or organization (Rao, 2014).
2 Analyse a professional qualification that could acquire alongside our degree and how it helps
to meet the career ambitions
Event and entertainment management is the application of the project management to
implementation to the development of large scale events such as festivals, conferences and
formal parties. These are different types of areas for the project management. Person need to
plan for the events and then coordinate the employees and team member for the work. Planning
for any type of event includes various factors that need to be done properly such as budgeting,
scheduling, selection of site, arrangement and transportation. There are different types of degrees
in event and entertainment management such as BSC, diploma's in various areas. Along with the
degree they can also do effective online courses. Person can easily do online diploma course in
event planning and management along with the degree. By doing additional professional
qualification with the degree they can increase their knowledge in planning management
(Dhiman, 2012).
Planning is more important in the event and entertainment management course. I need to
plan for the budgeting and site of events, that must be scheduled properly. If planning part will
be done properly then I can easily do the implementation of particular event. In online diploma
course individual can easily learn different things which helps to create effective and efficient
planning of an event. There are different types of benefit by doing additional course along with
the degree such as increment in knowledge and skills, higher efficiency, increase learning ability

etc. these all are the advantages to do additional courses with the degree (Jones, Torezani and
Luca, 2012).
By doing online diploma in event planning and management I can easily learn various
thing which helps for future development. I can easily increase their knowledge and skills in
different areas. Event planning is most important in the event management based on the planning
only they can do the implementation. In planning part it includes different factors which must be
scheduled in a proper way. By improving the technical, communication, learning, problem
solving and time management skills I can easily manage the events in various situation. Planning
part must be well managed because it includes schedule and budgeting of the events. Effective
planning gives good and appropriate results (Deeley, 2014).
3 Plan to acquire these recognized professional standards and evaluation of the values that give
advantages to the employer
Event planning and management is more important to organize any event in the world or
company. For the effective planning I must have the ability to prepare appropriate guideline and
schedule the things properly. If the planning of any event done properly then there is no issue to
organize good event. Additional professional courses helps to increase my knowledge in
different fields (Wilton, 2012). I did online diploma course along with my degree to increase my
knowledge and skills in event planning area. It adds the value to an employer and make me the
preferred candidate in the interview. Additional courses helps to enhance their ability to know
the things in various area. By doing the additional course in event planning and management
area I can easily increase my communication and time management skills which helps to create
effective and efficient planning for an appropriate event (Sung and et.al., 2013). From this
additional course I can easily increase my knowledge and skills in management area. It also
gives wattage to my CV because if I have additional degrees and certificates then it adds the
value to an employer and make me the preferred candidate in the interview. I did diploma as a
professional course along with my degree so it gives me more advantages in my interviews.
Employer give me more preference as compared to other candidate. By doing this course I
increase my learning skills, communication skills and time management skills. Effective time
management skills help to manage and handle events in the world. By improving these skills and
knowledge in different areas I can easily manage my events in the world. I learn from this
module these skills and self awareness is most important for me to manage the specific task.

5 Reflation of the interview process by applying STAR method
The STAR method is a combination of four elements such as situation, task, action and
result. STAR strategy is a well structured manner of responding to a behavioural based interview
questions by discussing the particular STAR of the specific situation. STAR approach most
effective to manage the task at the particular situation (Mishra, 2014). It helps to create effective
plan and manage the appropriate task. STAR method of the interview process as follows:
 Situation: organize an event for the self awareness training
 Task: My main objective is to provide appropriate training to the employees which helps
to increase their employability skills in the world. I also provide effective and efficient
resources that will help to understand the concept of self awareness.
 Action: I prepare a new activity that help to know their values, beliefs, strengths etc. this
activity is unique that will conduct during the session to give more knowledge about the
self awareness. It also helps to each employee to know their own values and skills.
 Results: Each employee is able to find out their strength and values which are not good
enough and they should enhance it. This training is more effective to an employee to
increase their employability skills.
6 What I learnt about myself and what aspects I need to improve for the work readiness
I learnt from this module is my skills and knowledge is week in some areas such as
management and communication skills. I need to improve my communication and time
management skills which helps to manage my specific events. Communication skills most
important in event and entertainment field because by the communication only I can easily
discuss my schedule to the team members. By improving my these skills and knowledge I can
easily get higher performance and efficiency in the world.
From this module, I found the problem which I have is I am not able to prepare
appropriate planning for the events. So I need to take effective training and development for the
time management skills. Further, I also learnt from this module is I should have good ability to
take appropriate and efficient decision in the particular situation. Based on the specific situation I
should take decision which should not affect the overall planning of my events.

CONCLUSION
Employability skills includes different types of skills such as communication, time
management, problem solving, team work and technical skills. Self awareness is the ability to
find out their own values and beliefs. There are different types of self awareness theories which
helps to know the facts of ourselves. Event and entertainment management is the application of
project management which create an event at large scale and it includes different elements such
as planning, organizing, budgeting and scheduling. Event manager has the ability to take
appropriate decision in the specific situation.
