INTRODUCTION
Employability skills play a vital role in individual’s development which assist the
person in resolving various kinds of issues and problems in its specific field. The report will
evaluate self awareness of individual learning and training for Event and Entertainment
management. It will outline the career development theory used by person to understand it
personality traits in accordance to different work environment.
1. SELF AWARENESS
Self-assessment
Strength Communication, adaptability, responsibility, achiever,
consistency and developer.
Weakness Under confident when need to work under pressure
Opportunities Handling Responsibilities and implanting effective
communication skills
Threats Multitasking
It is the technique which assists the individual in determining its own capabilities of
performing activity in its field.
2. CAREER DEVELOPMENT THEORIES
Holland's career typology theory of career development focuses on six step which
assist the individual in analysing its way to end goals. This provides opportunity to
individuals to connect its six personality traits with 6 work environment that is realistic,
investigate, artistic, social, enterprising and conventional (Maslin-Prothero and Bennion, 2011)
This type assists the person in analyzing its ultimate motive according to its trait and work
environment. Evaluating own capabilities plays a vital role in determining the eng goals and
effectively managing career development. However, in contrary Ginzburg's theory of career
development states that individuals when choosing career options should be conscious and
rationale (Baker, and Henson, 2010). It focused the development on the education options one
has chosen from childhood to adulthood. In this the focus of person should b on Fantasy

which denotes childhood, tentative which implies adolescence that is 11 to 17 and lastly
realistic which is adulthood from 17 to 20.
Self-awareness technique assisted me evaluating that i have good communication and
listening skills which is beneficial for manager in making effective decisions for the growth
and development of my career. I choose my course by evaluating my traits using Holland’s
career theory in which implemented my event environment and my traits which helped me in
analysing that I have strong control over maintaining consistency in work and I am
responsible for the work which has been assigned to me. Apart from this with the help of self
awareness I analysed that it important for the person to discover its own weakness and
strength in order to establish effectiveness in work. Further, with the help of self assessment I
identified that I have the opportunity of handling responsibility and enhancing self confidence
but it needs my effort to grab the opportunities to attain success in my field of Event and
entertainment management. Moreover, I know my field of career demand the skills of
multitasking for which I need to practice and work in this environment. On the other hand I
noticed that using Ginsburg’s theory of career development is focused on educational criteria
of person which lacks the focus of individual personality trait. Hence, I focused on Holland’s
theory it assisted me determining my end goals in Event and entertainment management.
3. LOCAL, REGIONAL, GLOBAL OPPORTUNITY FOR EVENT AND
ENTERTAINMENT MANAGMENT.
Local and regional opportunity for the individual in Event and entertainment field is
organising conferences, theme wedding and birthday parties, organising social gathering
which comprise all the necessity from basic interior to food and entire guest management
whereas the global event and entertainment in based on organising tourism trip from some
specific guest which comprises all the comfort such as, ticketing, stay in other country,
transportation, tourist guide and entertainment giddies in order to make trip of client
successful and comfortable (de Guzman, and Choi, 2013). There are many more opportunities
for person learning event and entertainment but it is major focused on theme parties and
activities.
In my opinion practical experiencing the management of event and entertainment is
important as it assist in determining various steps and ways to handle the situation. Moreover,
I have attended one trip which of tourism organised by seniors where I have learned that
when organising tourism event it is important for the individual to make appropriate

arrangement for the consumers from arrival to its departure which comprise all ticketing,
entertainment, food facilities, comfortable accommodation and restaurant. Further, when i
attended the concert and conference organised by team I evaluated various learning in which i
lack like, multitasking, when organising and managing regional and local event and
entertainment activity it is important for the individual to be attentive and to multitasked as it
demands your attention everywhere like, in sitting arrangements, sound, catering and guest
list and many more. Attending and analysing my personality traits by using career
development theory assisted me enhancing skills which will assist me further in my bother
personal and professional life.
CONCLUSION
The report summarized the employability skills of person working in Event and
entertainment management by implementing the use of self awareness which determined the
strength and weakness of person. Further, it outlined the Holland’s career theory which
helped the individual in analysing its traits and work environment in order to make effective
career decision. Hence, it concluded by identifying the local, regional and global opportunity
of the event and entertainment management.
