Introduction
Employees engagement refers to the level of commitment of employees within an
organization and also includes the level to which employees feel passionate within their
organization. The concept of employees engagement encompasses the concept of job satisfaction
and also includes the sense of belongingness developed within an employee’s due to their
commitment and engagement within an organization (Ogbonnaya, Daniels & Nielsen, 2017).
The employee’s engagement affects the employees performance within an organization. The
company’s elected for the purpose of this study includes Walmart Company. The main aim of
the paper is discuss about the role of employee engagement in affecting the performance of the
employees within Walmart Company in the year 2013 (Usatoday.com., 2020). The paper will
discuss about a problem statement, aims and objectives, a brief methodology and data analysis.
Problem Statement
A number of past researches have been conducted in order to understand the role of
employees engagement in affecting the work performance of employees. There are a number of
factors that affects the employees engagement and therefore their performance within an
organization. One of the most basic factors affecting the employees engagement includes
payment of fair wages. According to the study undertaken by Yap (2016), it has been understood
that a number of factors affect the employees engagement within an organization that also affects
their talent retention within organization, career development and job performance of the
employees. These factors includes a basic fair wage to the employees and other benefit packages,
training and development of employees and various other similar factors. Therefore from the
study conducted by Yap (2016), it has been understood that a poor compensation system within
