3.1. Outline of the speech
Topic: Should Children Under the Age of 10 Own Cell Phones?
Introduction
Respected members of the board, CEO, my supervisor as well as colleagues, in this era of
modernization, children can be seen handling mobile phones and smart phones all around the
world. However, according to recent studies, excessive exposure to mobile phones is imposing
negative impacts on both the physical as well as mental health of the children (Chassiakos et al.,
2016). Especially in the case of children who are under 10 years, exposure to mobile phones is
resulting in disturbed brain activity. The chief purpose of this speech is to points us why children
under 10 should not be allowed to come under excessive exposure to mobile phones.
First Main Point: There has been some extensive research and it has been proved that children
are more vulnerable to cell phone compared to adults (Cookingham & Ryan, 2015). I would also
like to emphasis on the fact that children possess the tendency to use phones for a prolonged
period of time and thus have a higher chance of developing non-malignant tumors.
Second Main Point: Mobile phones primarily function on electromagnetic waves that impose a
negative impact on human brains. In children, the waves from the phone can easily penetrate
right into the interior parts of the brain, since they do not have a strong shield.
Third main point: I would like to add that like other electronic gadgets, mobile phone is also a
tool and can be used for the wrong purposes as well Kids has the probability to come across
inappropriate messages, texts as well as images. Inappropriate contents impose a negative impact
on the physiology of the kids.

Conclusion
Finally, I will conclude by requesting parents to prevent overexposure of cell phone near
children below 10. Let us make an effort to make the childhood of today's children by
encouraging them to take part in physical activities.
