English essay
Introduction
Generally, every human being tends to have a future plan for his or her own life. The future plan
basically involves incorporation of appropriate achievement that will provide a better stay
different from the different conditions (Dening, Jones & Sampson, 2013). This means that we all
anticipate a good life in the future. What life will be in the future it will depend on what we
doing now in our respective fields. My "five-year plan" includes how I will accomplish my
academic goals, how I will build my personal character, anticipating having a good family in
future and lastly discussion on how to overcome present issues which are bottleneck to my
achievements.
Discussion
Focusing on what I hope to accomplish in the future in relation to school, career, or extra-
curricular activities.
In the future I hope to be a doctor. Since I was in primary level I have been aspiring to be a
doctor. We all know doctors usually work hard in their studies and also in their duties. I have
been working hard in school to ensure I accomplish my set goals. My purpose in enrolling for
medicine course in my school was to develop my skills and knowledge of medicine for the
preparation of a career in the future (Gawain, 2016). My long lasting mental illness started when
I was in primary school and it worsened when I was in secondary. After the illness deepened I
became fascinated by the illness and I was treated in a hospital. As I was in the hospital I could
observe how doctors were treating me and other patients in the hospital. The doctor who handled

my illness was caring and most of the time he could tell me stories. Through what he used to tell
me as I was in the hospital I became motivated to be a doctor in future (Gillick, 2013).
Also, my commitments in pursuing medicine course have worked as a practitioner during a
summer internship at Northgate Hospital. When I was in the hospital I was keenly observing
therapy groups and how patients were reporting in the hospital. During the two months of
internship I saw a significant change and therefore I grew to care deeply all the patients visiting
the hospital. I was so much aspired to be a doctor so as to help people in the region. My career
started at this time when I began to spend my time with patients in the hospital helping them
where necessary (Gleeson & Gonzales, 2012).
Also, I have been participating in extra-curricular activities while in school. I am footballer by
nature and I always play with passion. I do believe hard work pays and one day I will be a
prominent player in one of the big clubs in the world. The extra-curricular activities help in
achieving my career goal and at the same time its health to my body (Kotter & Cohen, 2012).
Last month we went to football competition with another school. Through our hard work we
managed to be the winner and I believe we were the best group after practicing for long. Being
an active player in my club then I believe in the future I will become one of the prominent
players in the world (Mathie et al., 2012).
In addition, the other aspect that will constitute my "five-year plan" is personal gain and
character development. Frankly speaking, I am a hard working person and I do believe in hard
work pays. Most of my personal activities I do normally work hard so as to achieve my target.
Also, I always like working with other members and I believe in teamwork. Generally, teamwork

helps in accomplishing future goals since they impact more on unity. In my class, I am a group
leader and I always make sure all my group members to contribute in case of any academic
debate. In simple words, I am a leader and I know what it involves being called a leader. Having
the qualities of leader I am sure my career dream is valid and in the future, I will make a change
once I step out of the school. Most of the times character development depends on how one is
focused on when doing the crucial things vital for his or her future. Through my hard work, I
have been doing well in school and this is an assurance of what I will be doing in the future. I
hope the spirit of hard work I have today will help me fulfill my future dreams hoping the same
energy of hardworking will be in my blood in the next thirty years.
Also, I am hoping in the future I will have a good family. Everyone anticipates for a good family
in the future (Grubbström, Stenbacka & Joosse, 2014). When I say family I mean having a wife
and children. I am hoping for a nuclear family whereby the family will be leaving together, we
will be eating together, working together and also praying together. I hope to have good qualities
and values with my family members. Through this, we will be like one and therefore we will
work hard enough to achieve our objectives and goals as a family. I want to be a role model to
my children meaning that I will show them love and support them in whatever they undergo in
their childhood. I know that strong families always share positive values to each other and it's my
hope that my family will be having these apt characters (Kontis et al., 2017).
The other aspect which will account for my "five-year plan” is on how I handle my past and how
I am planning to overcome present issues. Our lives as human beings are surrounded by a
number of challenges. Without knowing the better technique to handle the challenges on our way
we cannot have a positive move towards our future. I have been having some personal challenges
helps in accomplishing future goals since they impact more on unity. In my class, I am a group

in the past but through my passion, I have struggled to overcome. I used to perform poorly in the
class back in primary but now everything is working well after struggling to master the subjects I
was performing poorly. Everyone knows life is not always smooth all the time. Sometimes I am
always faced with personal problems. The key thing when I have issues I normally pray at least
to have the spirit of hard work thus overcoming the challenges on my way. My motto is that life
must continue regardless of the challenges on my way (Lens, Paixao, Herrera & Grobler, 2012).
I also trust on a certain quote which says," let your bottlenecks be your stepping stones “simply
meaning I should be always positive in my life but not stressing myself wherever challenges
surround my path of success.
Conclusion
To sum up, man anticipates for a good life in the future. In order to achieve what one he or she
plans to do in the future then one should be optimistic and trying as much as possible to work on
his or her goals. O’Connor (2012) argues that nothing good comes easy and that's why I always
work hard in all my endeavors at least to make sure my future will have a change. Therefore, it
means that during the personal transition that is from adolescence to adulthood one has to decide
on what he or she wants to be in the future. Achieving future plans as a youth it's all about
making choices, working on academic paths and avoiding unethical behaviors such as drug
abuse. Therefore, through my personal capability and spirit of hard work in both academic paths
and extracurricular activities, I believe I will achieve my "five-year future plan."
