INTRODUCTION
It is important for every organisation to create a safe workplace environment for their
workers in order to ensure their safety and security. WHS health and safety organisation plays an
important role and provides policies and procedures to be maintained at workplace. The report
will cover recommendations including improvements to record-keeping practices and induction
or training along with justification. In addition, WHS action plan and induction and training
program for workers will be discussed in this report.

AN EVALUATION REPORT
Recommendations for improvement in record-keeping practices and induction or training
Record-keeping and induction or training is important as it helps ABC college to make
evidence based decisions, meet legal, operational and regulatory requirements, accountability,
increase effectiveness of operational activities and maintains ABC and collective memory.
In order to improve record-keeping and induction or training practices, ABC organisation
is able to create health and safety local action plans, hazard and other registered, workplace
inspection, risk assessment, collective action registered and internal evaluation reports. In
addition, these are necessary to manage first aid incidents, medical treatment agency, near miss
incident, lost time injury and incidence rate (Ross, 2018). The main purpose is to manage the
records and effectively provide trainings to workers. The record-keeping system should follow
some characteristics such as reliability, integrity, compliance, comprehensiveness, systematic
etc. Electronic record-keeping system is also required to manage official transaction that also
helps to assess training requirements.
Justification for recommendations
Codes of practice, record-keeping and induction or training are some practical guides that
help to achieve health and safety standards under WHS Regulations and Act. It can be justified
that the main purpose of WHS legislation, code of practice and standards are to provide
consistent framework in order to secure health and safety of employees at workplace. Different
elements of WHS such as Act, regulations and codes of practice are supported by National
compliance and enforcement.

In addition to this, Health and Safety Local Action Plans help to reduce the amount of risks
occurred at workplace and also includes first aid incidents. Hazard identification is also
important to identify risks, which are associated with workplace and have more chances to be
happen (Australia, 2016). Workplace inspection helps to determine factors, which can produce
risks and medical treatment injury provide safety towards this. Risk assessment plan or strategy
helps to determine risks in order to eliminate them before they produce any losses within
workplace.

Recommendations: It is recommended from the above action plan that administrative manager
should consist reviewing and updating safe work management system and hazards and others
registered to maintain record keeping and Risk assessment plan to assess availability of risks at
workplace. There are a lot of considerations that should be considered by manager of ABC
college in order to ensure workplace health and safety of workers (Young and Brawn, 2017). The
initial purpose should be filled with these recommendations to provide safety and security while
maintaining the work. In addition, internal evaluation report and workplace health and safety
consultation with workers is also important as it helps to provide important information
regarding safety and security policies and procedures at workplace, which should be followed by
them effectively.
Justifications: Justification for these recommendations can be done by evaluating and
describing policies and procedures managed by WHS. It ensures workplace safety and all the
requirements, which are needed to ensure workplace safety of workers. In addition, evaluation of
workplace resources and other equipment and performance and risks associated with workers
and equipment's that are using will help to reduce chances of risks (Chapman and Thompson,
2016).
WHS INDUCTION AND TRAINING PROGRAM FOR WORKERS
WHS unit is responsible for implementation, maintenance, development and training
programs for supervisors, managers, employees, officers or volunteers. The specific area to
provide training and development program for workers in ABC college is selected, which is
chemistry lab.
Policies and procedures
The workers should comply with safe work practices by avoiding injuries to others and
themselves towards equipment's of chemistry lab.
The reasonable care of health and safety should be maintained.
Protective equipment's should be wear by workers while placing lab equipment such as beakers
and corks.
Directions provided by management team should be followed by workers.

Incidents and accidents in lab should be reported immediately.
All the information regarding hazards should be provided to workers.
Training plan designed to address performance issues
The training plan is designed by the management in order to address performance issues
at workplace that help to seek co-operation of workers in the lab. The health and safety standards
should also be maintained by management and workers. Safe environment with zero accident
rates is necessary that chemistry lab is full of dangerous chemicals and equipment's which can
easily harm anyone. Code of practice and standards to provide consistent framework in order to
secure health and safety of employees in lab. Health and safety local action plans will also help
to reduce the amount of risks occurred in lab and hazard identification will help to identify risks
associated with equipment's.
Objectives of ABC college
The main objective of ABC college is to comply with legal policies and procedures
across jurisdictions. In addition to this, management is also responsible for providing workplace
safety equipment and conditions for workers in order to ensure workplace safety. The college is
also committed towards WHS policies and procedures in order to protect their employees
towards the safest environment.
Target audience
The target audience is for the training and induction program is workers who are working
in chemistry lab.
Workers are responsible for managing and placing equipment's at right place.
They also clean equipment's and other areas of lab, which should be done by wearing gloves.
Adherence to WHS legislation and code of practice
WHS workplace health and safety programs and policies are maintained by ABC college in order
to ensure workplace safety of workers effectively.
ABC college ensures the commitment towards Work Health and Safety Act 2010 and the Health
and Safety Regulations 2012.
The management is also following codes of practices and Standards of WHS as far as possible.

It can be concluded from the above report that WHS health and safety procedures should
be followed by every organisation in order to ensure safety and security at workplace effectively.
In addition, record-keeping and induction or training will help ABC college to make evidence
