THE EVEREST REGION. ADVANTAGES OF TOURISM ON ECONOMY IS FOR
VARIOUS OF REASONS.
TOURISM ACTIVITY ALSO INCLUDES ECONOMIC COST INCURRED BY THE
BUSINESS OF TOURIST . IT ALSO CONSTITUTES TO THE SALE PROFITS, JOBS
TAX AND INCOME. TO THE TOURISM CREATES JOBS AND EMPLOYMENT .
IT GIVE DIRECT EMPLOYMENT ALSO IN THE ARE OF EVEREST REGION BUT
IT HAS SOME NEGATIVE IMPACT ON ECONOMY ALSO. DESPITE THE
REVENUE GENERATED BY THE TOURISM IT HAS LEADING PRESSURE ON
ECONOMY HERE ARE SOME:
COST OF TOURISM USUALLY RELY ON AUTHORITY OF THE AREA WHICH
COMES FROM THE TAXATION.

Background of chosen scenario
• Global tourism in Mount Everest has reached an unexceptional level of demand.
In recent years over One billion tourist has came to Mount Everest for trekking
according to UNWTO .
• While over 50 % of these tourist entrants were form Europe. Tourism is one of
the fastest growing industry in the world.
• Given these statistics the question arise is that how sustainable is tourism in the
area. A primary key to identify the sustainability is the impact of it on the
economical, social and environmental factors. Issue of spiraling carbon emission
is arising due to tourism.

Overall Argument
The Major aim of this project is to evaluate social, environmental
and economical aspects of tourism on mount Everest and to find
ways to reduce the negative impacts.

Definition of sutainabilty and issues
• Sustainable tourism is one that builds a suitable balance between the
environmental, economic and socio- cultural characteristics of tourism
development, plays an important role in preserving the bio diversity of the
Mount Everest..
• In simple words tourism which takes full concern of its future environmental
and social impacts, is called sustainable tourism.
• There are diverse issue which are affecting the environment and economy due
to tourism activities in that geographical area.
