Introduction:
Enterprise architecture is the procedure by which various companies organize and
standardize the infrastructures of IT in order to align it with the aims of business. These
strategies support transformation those are digital, growth of IT and the modernization of
Information Technology as a department.
The report discusses about the enterprise architecture, the various components, and
the frameworks of enterprise architecture. The report discusses a case study about the DMC
Company that will implement enterprise architecture. The report focuses on the frameworks
of EA and the comparison between EA and EA3. EA3 is one of the frameworks of EA.
Case Study Description
The Chubb is an insurance company that offers casualty and delivery insurance
products to individuals and businesses. The enterprise architecture of Chubb’s has evolved
from the year 2012. The company moved from a difficult model to a more centralized model.
In order to make the transition, the company chose a leader with leadership and management
skills than the leader having technical skills. The main components of the new EA are the
practices of EA and target architecture. The architecture of target consists of principles of
architecture, governance of architecture, conceptual reference of architecture and the
technologies those are emerging in order to increase the combination. The practices of EA
have five disciplines of domain. These consist of governance and strategy of IT, application,
technical, architecture of platform and information. The implementation of EA faced various
challenges in terms of loss of staffs and lines of responsibility. The main problem of the
company is adaption and the EA can decide the speed of adaption.
