Introduction
An Enterprise Architecture deals with the structure and functions of the organization.
The main aim of Enterprise Architecture is to identify the most effective way and methods to
achieve the company’s goals and future objectives. It applies the architecture principles and
practices to collaborate any business system with the information system (Simon, Fischbach
and Schoder 2013). This report intends to discuss with the Enterprise Architecture and
several of other technologies implementation with it. The other technologies for example big
data and cloud computing implementation can support the enterprise system in its way of
improvement. The comparison of the different existing framework for Enterprise
Architecture development is also done with the help of provided case studies. Two Entity
Relationship Diagrams of different Enterprise Systems are also developed according to the
given case studies. The overall discussion in this report is about the Enterprise System and
development.
1.1 Case Study
A large healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical device firm named Johnson &
Johnson operate a total revenues of $15 billion. The company is mostly success because of
autonomous management structure. The managers are handling well their individual
companies and this is resulting in success collaboratively. However, the company now wants
to introduce a single point of interaction for its customers.
Problem Statement
The company is more centric about its mangers and running the company efficiently
whether the customers has to deal with multiple calls, invoices and place visiting. The
focuses of these individual managers are also not on the making the customers task easier.
However, the company is now changing the structure where the customer will be in contact at

one place. From past few years, with the changing Information Technology, many
organisations are now thinking more about their users or customers (Mukerjee 2013). The
problem is for transforming the infrastructure is that, the company had been working on a
decentralized systems of individual companies. This change will require to change its
information technology infrastructure to more about the corporate strategy. It means, every
involved person in the company now have to think about the information technology by
thinking of their customers also.
Solution
The solution for this transformation will require in change of companies policy and
management structure as well as the IT structure. The corporate strategies will require to
adapt for the employees and the company. The training is provided in the following case
study to learn about integrated system and common standards. Previously the IT funding was
done on the basis of individual operating units. The company found its new solution by
thinking that it is important to provide the corporate funding for establishing the new
infrastructure of the IT. This way the company continued to improve the enterprise
architecture without bringing a major change in the operating companies.
Zachman Framework
In terms of Enterprise Architecture, Zachman framework is widely used method for
developing the business system related massive number of documents (Zarvić and Wieringa
2014). Since the Enterprise Architecture is disciplined way of aligning the Information
technology and Business whit the system, it provides the different perspective of analysing
the information technology system (Kurniawan 2013). The provided case study can be
analysed using Zachman framework, as the framework provides the classifications of the
problems like customer handling, operating companies and generated invoices. It also helps
in transforming the system by keeping the existing system of the company which is required
