INTRODUCTION
Entrepreneurial leadership can be referred to as the framework or the mind-set which
converts the problems of the organisation into the various opportunities through which an
organisation can get more success in the market (Boyatzis, McKee, (2005)). Effective leadership
is very important for business organisations and institutions as they integrate the efforts of all the
employees towards the goal of the business. This plays an important role in creating more values
for organisation. For this report, Waltham International College has been under taken into
account. It is an educational institution that provides higher education to the students. This
college was founded in 2010. College provides various types of programs to their students like
apprenticeship and training, etc. In this report, there will be the discussion on the roles of
entrepreneurial leadership in regards to the people, teams and ethical organisations. This report
will contain various theories that helps to understand the concept of leadership. At last of the
report, there will be practical applicability of the theory in relation to the institution to find out
opportunities and challenges.

The importance of leadership
Leaders plays an important role in the development of the organisation. Effective
leadership provides guidance to the employees in which they have to carry out the work in order
to achieve the goal of the organisation (Whitmore, (2010)). There are several functions that
leaders perform in an organisation that are as follows:
 Leadership gives the right direction and pathway to the company that what an
organisation have to achieve. They define clear roles and responsibilities to each and
every individual in the organisation with their duties.
 Leaders helps to build an effective communication in the organisation through which the
employees can easily co-ordinate with the each other.
 Making a decision in the organisation is one of the tough task and leader plays a major
role in the decision making process (Boyatzis, Smith, Van Oosten, (2019)). Leaders
makes the right decision for the company according to the resources available with the

company. Effective leaders have the ability to take the tough decisions under the difficult
situations.
 They provide continuous guidance to the employees while they are carrying out the work.
Leaders regularly monitors the activities of the employees in which help the organisation
to achieve their goals and targets on time.
 They also play an important role in motivating the employees towards the goal of the
organisation. They boost the morale of the each and every individual in the company that
helps the leaders to build the trust in the employees (Sinek, (2011)). Motivated
employees help the organisation to lead the operations of the business effectively towards
the goal.
Role of entrepreneurial leadership in the development of people
Leaders play an important role in the development of the people in various ways. Some
of the points that leaders play in the development of the leaders is as follows:
 The leader of company plays a major role in managing the work of team and having
effective communication. (Browne, (2020)). By developing communication skills in the
employees helps to reduce the chance of the conflicts in between them. Waltham
International College is one of the reputed college in the UK. They hire the professional
leaders who can motivate the staff members as well as the students of the college. They
build an effective communication between the students and staff through which students
can easily communicate with the teachers regarding their problems in the studies.
 Honesty is also one of the major element that helps the leader to build trust among team
members. As they remain very honest towards their employees and staffs. This helps
them to build the trust in the eyes of the employees which result in boosting the
motivation of the employees towards the work of the organisation. This build the quality
of trust and motivation in the individual. Leaders of Waltham International College
clearly defines the roles and responsibilities to their staffs that what they have to do in the
campus. Leaders remains in touch with the staffs all the time with full honesty increases
the morale and motivation of them. This ultimately helps to developed motivated staff in
college.
Role of entrepreneurial leadership in the development of team

 Leaders play various roles in the development of an effective team that can achieve that
target on right time. One of the main role that leaders play in a team is that they integrate
the efforts of each and every individual in the organisation is to achieve the goal. They
direct a team in the right direction and also helps them to understand the policies and
objectives of the project (Bush, (2020)). Leaders of the Waltham International College
held effective meetings with all the staff through which they can easily defines the roles
and objectives of the college. They set-up a right pathway for the teachers through which
they can achieve the goal of the institution in a right time. This helps to develop the more
effective team.
Role of leadership in the development
 Leaders play important role in developing more ethics and values in the organisation.
Leaders equally respects each and every individual of the company or organisation
without any discrimination. They give equal opportunities and resources to all the
employees through which they can feel motivated while working in the company in order
to achieve the goal of the organisation (Coleman, Glover, (2010)). This helps the leader
to create more ethical values in the organisation. Waltham International College leaders
focus on to hire the best staff in their institution without doing any discrimination.
Through this they developed more ethical values in the campus.
 Leaders remain transparent in the eyes of their employees which helps employees to give
feedbacks and reviews about the work they are carrying out in the organisation. They
disclose each and every information in front of the stakeholders as they have a direct
relation with the company (Sims, (2011)). Leaders of the Waltham International college
shows transparency while they are connecting with the staffs, this helps them to develop
more ethics in the institution.
Theories of leadership
Leadership theories can be defined as the study that why and how few people becomes
leaders in the organisation. There are various types of leadership theories that are discussed
below:
 Great Man theories: This theory can be refereed as the leaders who will perform the
leadership function in the organisation has born with the abilities and the qualities that a
leader should possess. It defines that the leader individual has all those qualities that a

leader needed to lead the functions of the organisation. This theory tells that when the
individuals take birth they have all the features and characteristics of the leaders with
them. This theory defines that some people are apart from the others as they have the
ability to perform the function of leadership (Diller and et.al., (2020)). Professional leader
of Waltham International College performing the leadership functions from very long and
they use this theory. They are highly contributing to the institution as a leaders and helps
them to achieve the target of the college by performing effectively. They use this theory
as they are very skilled and experts in this field. They lead the functions of the staff in
order to give efficient knowledge to the students. They ensure that all department of the
college conduct their operations smoothly. Leaders of the college motivates the staff on a
regular basis and they also conduct review programs in order to find out the problems of
them. They are the main part of their colleges as they are most skilled and professional
persons that possess all the characteristics that a leader should have.
 Transformational leadership theories: It is a new leadership styles that means that the
leaders motivate the employees or the individual to create and form new ideas that helps
the organisation to perform better and also facilitates the company to achieve more
success. This theory is applied in the organisation by involving the employees and the
staff in decision making process. It helps them to generate new ideas and can also make a
change in the work pattern (Evans, (2020)). This type of leadership trust and respect the
employee’s decision without any issue. Transformational leadership style provides an
opportunity to the employees to become more creative towards the work and they focus
on to build a friendly culture in the company. Waltham International College leaders uses
this new style of leadership in their institution. They give various kinds of opportunities
to their staff by which they can become a part in the decision making process. They
motivates the staff in the college by providing them authority in their respective jobs.
 Ethical leadership theories: It is also a new leadership theories can be defined as the
leaders by applying theories focuses on developing the more principles for the
organisation. In this the leaders focus on to eliminate the wrong doings in the
organisation as that can affects the interest of an individual (Feldman and et.al., (2013)).
They ensure that each and every individual in the company should perform their job in
order to make more values for the company. This leadership style helps the company by

increasing their brand image in the market that allows them to attract more customers
towards the company. Leaders of the Waltham International College practices this
leadership style. They are one of the most valuable and reputed college in the UK that
provides higher education to the students (Feser, et.al, (2019)). Leaders of the college
ensures that all the healthy practices should be followed on their campus which increase
the morale of the employees as well the image of the college. They respect each and
every person in the college that helps them to create more ethical environment in their
campus.
Apply theory & concepts to a range of real-world learning or business
challenges & opportunities
In now a day’s business environment is very dynamic and it keep on changing on a
regular basis. So in order to keep up with the new trends and technology businesses needs
effective leaders who can introduce the new techniques of production in the organisation and can
give knowledge to the employees about the new technology through which they can effectively
carries out the work in an organisation (Garvey, Stokes and Megginson, (2017)). There are
various opportunities available in the market that are present which helps the companies to get
more success in the market. For example, Unilever have professional leaders who critically
analyses the situation and helps them to come with idea. There is need of effective research to
manage the working of teams. New opportunities in the market and they introduced the work
from home in the time of COVID-19 that does not causes any delay in the operations of their
business. They provide high-tech computers and internet to their employees so that they can
easily carry out the work form their homes.
Apart from the opportunities there are various kinds of challenges are too present in the
market that affects the operations of the business. Sometimes leaders in the company fails to
effectively communicate with the employees which misleads the work. For example, TESCO
leaders faced this issue as at the time of COVID-19 they were finding difficulty in co-ordinating
with the employees. It is necessary to have better communication with the employees so that they
are able to carry on their work and stay motivated. Without effective communication the
company faces trouble in completing the work on time (Llewellyn, (2017)). This affects the work
of their company and they were not able to communicate the new ideas and plans to their
employees. Therefore, effective leadership is very important for the business who can make

necessary changing in the organisation according to the changing environment. Leaders also
involves the employees in the decision making processes which helps them to get the new ideas
and work pattern in the company. They also encourage the employees to innovate new ideas
related to the products and services that helps the company to attract more customers towards the
business.
Being a leader in the Waltham International College, by applying the transformational
theory in the institution it has been analysed that the staff of the college plays an important role
in more success of the college. Through this theory staffs were given the opportunity to create
and suggest new ideas in the institution that helps to perform better in the educational field. This
theory focuses on to give opportunities to the employees in the decision making that facilitate
them to give their point of view while making plans for the future (Lucas, (2020)). This theory
ensures that all the staff in the institution should get equal respect and authority which helps the
leader of the college to boost the morale of the employees.
By applying the ethical leadership in the college, it has been analysed that the values and
ethics are the most important aspects in the leadership. This leadership theory helps the college
to build the more valuable image in the eyes of their students (Peterson, (2020)). This leadership
style facilitates the institution to create more disciplined and ethical culture in the college that
promotes the image of the college in the educational sector. Being a leader, it is assured that all
the work practices should be conducted in the right manner without hurting the interest of others.
Leaders ensures that the work in the colleges should not put any negative impact on the students
as leaders continuously the wrongdoings and practices in the college. This leadership helps the
college to perform better in the educational field. Waltham International College provides higher
education to the students and effective leadership helps the college to get more students by
building the valuable image in the educational sector.
Role of coaching within entrepreneurial leadership-
According to Herminia Ibarra and Anne Scoular, coaching is the concept by which a
manager or leader of the firm evaluate and analyse the activities which he is performing to
encourage his subordinated. Nowadays the importance of leader or coach is growing in the
business institution due to several reasons as and one of the main reason is that he will
acknowledge the employees about their weakness and different ways to overcome them. In
present time leadership and coaching together builds a set of good work culture in which

employees are more open towards leaning new things. In current situation coaching is not only
about transferring information to one another but it also connected to the motivation of
employees. By considering the necessity of coaching in leadership one can understand that he is
not that much efficient to perform the task in the company, and this could only happen when a
leader become a good coach. The framework of coaching prevails the message that if a person is
guided in a better way then he must have potential through which he can become an efficient
coach too. A leader can also promote the idea of better coaching by supporting his subordinate in
different way as per their requirements and needs in the firm. And in last there is model which
can utilise in the company who is involving the framework of coaching, it is about the deciding
the goals and identifying the appropriate options. After this is very much important to generate
the will power among the employees, in order to complete the task before the set timeline.
Coaching leaders is the process which involves recognised team members' weaknesses,
strengths and motivations helps each person to improve. Many company use coaching leadership
style for example. Tesco company use this style to balances the praise and criticism, because it is
important as a leader to provide feedback, so that employees are able to improve and company
also ensure that they choose good leader who are able to handle the tough situation. This
coaching leadership help the company to achieve their target efficiently. Marks and Spencer
company also use this style to maintain their working environment, they doing research through
leadership, because they believe that leader need to develop,their skills time of time, so that they
are able to perform well, they conduct professionals workshops, online tutorials to develop their
skills. Deloitte company always take time to analyse their coaching efforts and they try to
maintain good relation between team leader and employees, because coaching require the high
level of trust, if employees not fell that their team respect them, so they feel hesitation to share
their point of view. Sainsbury's Company believe in one- on- one sessions, leader always try that
employees feel comfortable to share their views and they learn something to their team leader
when they give one to one time, they offer many opportunities to them for improve their skills.
Because of this workers are free of thinking, they don't fell pressure which is good for their
performance. This thing support the company to increase their productivity and create positive
working culture.

CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be analysed that the leaders play a most important role in
the success of the organisation. They are the main component of the business organisations in
order to lead the operations of the business to achieve the goal of the company. Importance of
leadership have also been evaluated in this report to better understand the functions of leaders.
Role of entrepreneurial leadership theory has also been discussed in relation to the development
of the people, team and the ethical organisation. Various types of leadership theories have been
analysed that helps to better understand the different kinds of leadership styles. At last of the
report there is practical applicability of theories have been under taken which helps to find out
the various opportunities and challenges present in the organisation.
