Abstract
As the population of the world continues to increase, the uses of energy are
consequently increasing. Also there is rapid rate of fossil fuel depletion on the basis of
worldwide parameters. This has probably necessitated search for alternative energy
sources in various parts of the world with Middle East included which will assist in
meeting the current demand. Alternative sources of energy including solar energy
have attracted the attention of energy sector since it can be used in the supplement
of the already existing energy sources. Also as the cost of fossil fuels continues to
escalate, the concept of conceptualization needs to be adopted so as tie ensure that
sources of energy are not only efficient but also sustainable through application of
hybrid systems. In this particular paper there is a proposal for the development of the
solar energy or electricity farm with the capacity of 500kW. It has been estimated
that the proposed solar energy farm in the middle east will increase the overall
output of energy, will attenuate individual fluctuations and reduce the storage
requirements of the solar energy very significantly. The proposed systems should be
adopted particular for the new establishments so as to assist in the reduction of the
emissions of carbon besides reducing the energy costs in Middle East.

Introduction
Engineering departments which deals with the sector of energy have defined energy efficiency as
the primary objective of putting relevant effort and resources together to reduce the quantity of
energy as well as the required cost to assist in the provision of services and products. Considering
the concept of sustainable development seeks to meet the current needs of the society while at the
same time remain mindful of the future generation, the type of energy sources must now take the
stage in the whole scenario (Akpınar and Kömürcü 2013). As part of the sustainable development
in the Middle East, the goal has been identified as powering neighborhood with energy sources
which are relatively cheap as well as sustainable. Sustainable energy must possess the
characteristics of being renewable for example solar energy.
It is common knowledge that wind energy and even certain sources of fossil fuels cannot be relied
upon alone annually without having an increase in either the cost of production or storage. In most
of the cases, one source will be low while the other is at its prime time and vice versa. The
unpredictability of weather directly affects the smooth processes of production as well as
distribution (Nematollahi et al.2016). As a result backup systems are usually put on standby
preferably diesel generators. Installation of the substation of solar electricity farm will be needed to
assist in the provision of the solution to some of these identified challenges.
Problem Statement
Middle East is primarily dominated by the fossil fuel energy sources that have since remained the
potential sources of environmental pollution. Also the research sources have indicated that these
sources are slowly undergoing depletion, experiencing fluctuation costs due to the varying costs of
production and distribution. Middle East cannot purport to be an active participant of the
sustainable development partners in the energy sectors in the whole world. The acute shortage of

alternative sources of energy apart from fossil fuels remains to be a major challenge to be solved so
as to increase the percentage of energy reliability as well as efficiency.
Aim
The main aim of this particular paper is to conceptualize as well as design a solar energy or
electricity farm in Middle East with the capacity of 500kW. It is expected that this will effectively
contribute towards sustainable and efficient energy in the neighborhood.
Objectives
This particular research work was limited to the study of solar energy in the Middle East. To
achieve this there were objectives identified. The design concept of the solar energy farm with the
capacity of 500KW was identified as the first remarry objective. The second aim will be have the
design optimized with the increasing demand.
Scope of the project
The activities of the project were as follows:
i. Investigation on the critical dimensions of the solar energy farms. This included
determination the possibilities as well as requirements to have the projected demand met.
ii. Design of the solar energy farm with the capacity of 500kW which will actually act as a
supplement to the already existing sources in Middle East.
iii. Determination of the optimal aspect of the design which will actually make the processes of
production efficient.
