Gender Differences in Development Development in a person is related with overall change in personality includes height, weight, understanding and skills. The process of development among all is not same and totally depends over family biological traits along with gender. The main stage of growth is early childhood from 5 to 12 years when children’s basically going to schools for primary education. The main differences in growth among children’s is visible in their height and weight (What is gender differences,2020). Here, major role in growth of height and weight among children’s is played by the biological traits of parents. It is simple to understand, where parents have good physic and height then same will be ascertained by children in equal ratio. The one aspect that has some point of contradiction with this concept is gender of a children. The role of gender is also immense in the growth of a body but not similar as biological traits. It is visible in some cases where siblings have height and weight differences where development of girl child is lower as compared to boy. This clearly depicts that at some point hormones in body has impact over the development process. Other than these two, there are many factors that contribute towards the development of body like nutrition, diet, physical activities and environment. The effective combination of all has great role in direction of attaining good rate of growth or development where a person able to get personality which is effective in all terms. Ella faced the situation of tallest student in her year 5 class. This happened due to the quick growth during most of the current year (Santos, Roomi and Liñán, 2016). She is very uncomfortable about the variations happening to her physique. To control or cope from the feeling of embarrassment, she stopped running around the playground during the lunch time. She is sitting with her coat on all time. This situation became worsen when during the changes in her body, she was noticed about bleeding each month. The another instance that made her more embarrass was her mother let down the hem of Ella’s school dress that looks awful. This was done with the reason that only one year left before high school. On the other hand, Thomas who is 11-year-old always been the smallest in every group. The one whose named Harry is the best friend of Thomas from day-care and taller from him from that time (Cabello and et. al. 2016). Thomas doesn’t care about this at that time but now when he is in year 6, it impacts his thought process. Now, Harry is huge but still Thomas is smallest in class. When Thomas joined the nine-year-old brother’s soccer team, his mother cannot elite Thomas available in the gathering. Even the girls are taller than Thomas and to 1
compensate the same situation he became loudmouth and joker. Now, he starts beginning to wonder if he will ever grow taller. On the basis of above defined experiences, it is clear that such instances are not typical among 10 to 12 years’ child. They often face these type of conditions where they felt embarrassing. This has the direct negative impact over their thinking process where not able to polish personality in the manner as required at that point of age. Here, to handle the situation and promote the equivalent growth, teachers must intervene where they recognise and build the policies to control the stress associated with early stage of puberty. All the teachers must assess the growth and factors that impact the same positively and negatively. They also focus over determining instances when students feel embarrass due to the processofdevelopmentwithintheirbodyatearlystagesofpuberty.Forex.,onefeel embarrasses because of tallest and another because of smallest. In this regard, teacher must educate the students that biological changes in body is not in their hand also it depends over genetics and they did not have any fault in attainment of a particular kind of body type. They motivate them that these does not matter in future because where judgement is done on the basis of skills and knowledge. Also, the teachers build the rule that no one will bully each other on physical type and take part in all activities without hesitation. All these activities must have the positive contribution upon the mental state of child where stress will be released and confidence built that these are not the criterions to judge the effectiveness of life (Bleidorn and et. al. 2016). It will be great to take some steps for mental growth of children’s like Ella and Thomas because the pressure of being different from others in early stage has negative impact upon overall development of a personality. In some cases, they simply grew out of their problems by understanding that the one aspect where they weak can be easily compensated by the other points of behaviour and personality characteristics. The steps which are important to take for removing problems include dissemination of information about biological changes that are not in their hand, create perception that these not define the future of a person, provide confidence to focus over other important aspect that are playing important role in life for personal growth and removal of inferiority feeling by focusing over actual determinants of growth. It is clear from the overall description that any kind of issue related to the development among children has negative impact upon overall personality. Here, the one thing can be done as an additional effort by the teacher that take private sessions with Morteza and motivate to act confident with the knowledge what actually have at the time. In case, the person who born in English country but not belongs from it actually, then does not face the issues as faced by Morteza. This is so because language and culture is adopted by the person from the environment and surroundings. So, this simultaneously provides the support to be comfortable within academics where similar nature of environment exists. It is clear from the above description that major issues are faces by students to cope with new culture in new country. The teachers must focus over those students towards improving their confidence and understanding behaviour from their gestures (Saville-Troike and Barto, 2016). This not only help to get knowledge about features but aid in development of strategies where they do not feel embarrass in class. An Interview with Year 6 Student Interviewing is the best technique to get the information about personal interest and behaviour of a person. This will provide the opportunity to grab the level of confidence and other associated characteristics with personality. The benefit of this exercise will help in development of better strategies that adequately meet the personal requirements of a person. Here, interview is done with year student named Jay. It is ascertained from the interviewed information that Jay is good in project and have personal interest in that specific area. There is specific reason behind this ability of Jay that family environment. The elder brother is good in projects and parents have the habit of reading newspaper. Jay did not like the maths subject. The main reason behind is not able to understand and feel stressed (Larkin and Jorgensen, 2016). The above information clearly depicts about the self-efficacy of Jay. Jay is good in project because get inspired from the elder brother and also get the habit of research and reading from parents. It means Jay is good in ascertaining the characteristic through observations. On the other hand, maths is technical subject that requires concentration and technical knowledge that cannot 4
ascertained from the family routines observations. This would be the reason that Jay is bad in Maths and not even get inspired from his younger sister. The informationascertainedrelated to Jay clearlyprovide the sign of psychological feedback where he learns or grab the things from the happenings or habits exist in surrounding. The one thing which is must to fulfil this criterion is presence of informative and interesting aspects that does not have no link with technical knowledge. This would be the reason that Jay does not like maths (Keddie, 2016). The self-esteem of Jay definitely affected negatively due to the presence of such beliefs because he developed the feeling of hate and stress towards subject of maths where not able to generate the interest of learning. In this regard, classroom teachers must use the innovative and creative ways of teaching that can grab the attention of Jay’s personality characteristics. Also, they have to motivate regularly about the learning of new aspects. This will must provide positive impact over the self-esteem of Jay where he pursues the learning of topics which in which he is not good in actual. It is clear from the above information that interview is the best method to gain personal information about any person. Individuals always learn fast from the observation of aspects happens in surrounding. The teacher has the prime role regarding the improvement of student’s self-esteem in classroom (Othman et. al. 2016). 5
