General Impression
On having gone through the essay, the first impression that one gets is that of the poor
sentence construction. The style used for the framing of the sentences are not at all academic in
nature and does not give the impression that the individual who has composed the essay is
pursuing higher studies. Though the topic is something which is appropriate for students
pursuing higher studies. The essay on an overall basis is very much generalized in nature and
tends to beat about the bush rather than coming to the focus of the discussion. The issue of drug
abuse is a broad topic and the focus has to be narrowed down for providing a holistic piece of
writing, however, in the essay, there has been no attempt to choose a specific issue and discuss it
accordingly. Much of the discussion is very generalized and hence not at all academically
oriented.
Most effective aspect
The most and the only affective part of the essay is that it has used quite a lot of statistical
data which shows that there has been attempt to research on the topic and then provide the
inputs.
Concept highlighted in the essay
As such there is no concept in the essay, however the topic of discussion which focuses
on the issue of drug abuse, has been tried to explain as a mental disease and a social issue. There
is a confusion as drug abuse is not a mental disease as such hence there is a lack of conceptual;
clarity reflected in the paper.
