INTRODUCTION
Artificial intelligence is a broad area of computer science which makes computer
programs or machines learn, think intelligently in the same way as they have human intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is simply making computer system, software or any machine think
intelligently or machines which has ability to think, learn improve from their experiences (Cohen
and Feigenbaum., 2014). This essay will address importance and use of artificial intelligence and
will help in determining whether is a threat or an aid for future. In this essay various examples
and use of artificial intelligence in various sectors have been explained with their positive as well
as negative effects.

Artificial Intelligence can be described as intelligence demonstrated by computer systems
or machines. It can also be defined as ability of machine or computer programs to learn and
think. It is a deep learning by the computer system to process all the available information, use
that information to perform complex functions like face recognizant, weather forecasting, etc. It
has also helped human to store unlimited data, process and use it. Artificial Intelligence has
impacted human life in many ways.
Applications and its future Aspects
There are many examples of artificial intelligence which depicts its use in real world.
Automobile Industry in modern era owns self-driven cars which are developed with GPS
installed in it. Though these cars need a driver to control and for safety purpose. There are many
examples of driverless cars like Google has developed a Waymo, which stands a new way
forward in technology. Maybe in future this technology can be further modified so that no driver
will be needed for these self-driven cars. Today only small cars are designed for this maybe in
future other transportation vehicles can be designed in such a way that they can be driverless
too(Bond and Gasse., 2014).
A simple example of Artificial intelligence used by almost everyone is smartphones.
Today people can read news, articles, etc. from their mobile itself. There are many applications
which make smartphones more advanced like Apple's Siri application or Google assistant or
Alexa and many more, these applications does everything that they are commanded. People can
even interact with them and it display result on the basis of human instruction. . Artificial

Intelligence has also helped in development of software's like facial recognition or face unlock
through which mobiles can be unlocked only with the face recognition software. In fact,
nowadays social media applications can also be accessed without password with the help of
facial recognition (Russell and Norvig., 2016). In accordance with this, it can be said that AI has
boomed advancement and is aid for future humanity.
Artificial Intelligence is crucial part of medical field. Health care sector has advanced a
lot today because of advancement in technology. AI is used in medical field to diagnose many
serious diseases on time like Brain tumour or cancer(Applications of Artificial
Intelligence.,2018). It has helped doctors to detect and find the right treatment for specific
diseases. Nowadays there are also many vaccinations available for children to protect them from
many diseases in future like polio, etc. But it also has a negative effect on doctors as they have
become completely dependent on these technologies. Due to advancement in technology there
are many options available for correct treatment which has made it difficult for doctors to
provide accurate treatment to the patients. For example, there are more than 1000 medicines
available for treating cancer which has created difficulty for doctors to provide accurate dose of
medicines to solve this issue; studies has been going on in which systems can memorize all the
documents so that most effective combination of medicine and drug can be given (Zang and
et.al., 2015).
Artificial Intelligence has also shown its development in gaming which has given birth to
the virtual world where people can play games as if they belong to that particular world. It has
also generated dynamic proposal behaviour in non-player characters in video games i.e.
individual can play games with computer, they do not need any company to play games with.
With this advancement in technology many board games like monopoly or chess are also played
in mobiles or in systems with computers. However, the increase advancement of AI is affecting
younger generation as they have become more addicted to this gaming technology which is
affecting their health specially eyesight.
Artificial intelligence has also shown its development in Business world as well. With the
help of Artificial intelligence Companies can store their data securely on cloud they do need to
remain dependent on storage devices to store their data. Organizations can easily store, access
and use the data or information whenever they want. Companies can also make continuous
financial audit statements analysing possible. This has reduced the overall audit risk and

increased the level of assurance and time duration of auditing has also reduced. But this
advancement in technology has also increased cybercrime or data theft in organizations. In
contrary, companies need to remain alert with their security systems as hacking has been
continuously increasing (Azar and Vaidyanathan., 2015).
Today with the help of AI it is possible to generalize or predict the behaviour of
customers from their digital footprints in order to build relationship with customers. Many e-
commerce websites are using this technology for advertisement of their products or services to
increase their customer base and improve their relationship with their customers. Artificial
Intelligence has also helped organization to reduce their advertisement cost and reach as many
customers as they can.
Artificial intelligence has also helped in developing robots which are used by many
organizations or individuals for many purposes. Many dangerous or hazardous jobs has been
taken over by robots like bomb defusing. This technology has saved many lives by taking over
bomb diffusing jobs. Nowadays robotic welding cells are also used in order to prevent human
workers from toxic substances (Renzi and et.al., 2014). There are many other jobs for which
robots are used because it saves organizations time and money. It also has some negative effect
as it is taking over the jobs of employees working in the organizations as work which is done by
many employees and was time consuming it is done by one robot in fraction of seconds.
However, it has been seen that Increasing use of Artificial intelligence has created more jobs
than will be lost as increasing use of machinery and technology has created jobs for skilled
individuals for operation and maintenance of machineries, technologies and for the security of
organizational data jobs has been created. In modern era, robots are beneficial in many ways like
for older generation they assist in daily routine activities. Robots doesn't have and understand
emotions or feelings of human beings but in future robots can be used as a friend(Nourani and
et.al., 2014).
Artificial intelligence has also helped in solving many climatic and weather changes by
forecasting. Today there are many super computers developed which are helpful in weather
forecasting that prevents hazardous incidents which can led to huge damage to humanity. . These
super computers are used to store large amount of data or statistics which is further be analysed
to solve world's biggest problem of prediction of weather or climatic changes. With the help of

this technology people can be aware of any extreme climatic change or can be warned of any
hazardous weather condition.
Social effects
Use of artificial intelligence today has increased crime in various ways and has been
continuously increasing which has increased the threat of organization's data theft. This has made
companies to focus on their security systems more than ever to save their as well as their
customers data and for many more reasons like recently Twitter launched a Microsoft's Artificial
Intelligence chatbot which can tweet automatically without anyone's operating but within 24
hours it was found that twitter chatbot was being racist in its tweet about any topic as a result
many of the twitter users were feeling offended of those tweets(Russell., 2017).
Artificial intelligence has also been useful in communication sector. With the use of AI
there are many applications and software's which were developed for customers to make
communication easier and more effective like there are many language translation software's or
devices developed which supports translation of many languages which has helped people to
communicate and understand others language more easily. In-fact there are many software's
developed which can print any document or any instruction booklet in many different languages
simultaneously for organization's as well as customers benefit.
Artificial Intelligence has also made travelling and navigation easier and more convenient
for people and created huge impact on living style of society. There are many applications
developed through which location can be share with anyone or can receive anyone locations.
Further, with the help of navigation or online maps people can travel whenever and wherever
they want (Barile and et.al., 2018). Through this technology advancement like Goodge Maps
people can easily book a cab and can tract their location which saves time, energy and money.
Many AI devices are developed which can be installed in homes which learns user’s
behaviour and their timing and adjust themselves to make human experience as frictionless as
possible. For example, there are many devices through which people can adjust their room
temperatures their security systems, lights as per their preferences even if they are far ways for
their houses. They can even change and track light intensity of colour in their houses.
With the help of all these examples it is clear that Artificial intelligence has changed the
way of living and doing business. Artificial Intelligence has helped to bring transparency in
organizations working to help companies in monitoring their employees in a better way. It has

also assisted the workers to understand companies operations, functions clearly which has helped
companies in development of employee-employer working relationship in a better way(Miller
and Polson., 2018). It has also helped organization to speed up their work, functions and
operations in a cost effective as well as in a time efficient manner.
Artificial intelligence is playing a vital role in societies of humans and economies and it
is depicted that it will play even bigger role in the coming years. Artificial Intelligence has
replaced experts in many specialities. Similarly, robots nowadays can virtually carry out many
roles that were once done by humans (Makridakis., 2017). It has been observed that AI
intelligence has already exceeded human intelligence by continuously improving themselves
intelligently. It can be said that in future many sectors will be using AI technologies to expand
themselves. In some fields like in medical field it is an aid for future as there are still many
diseases which does not have any cure and cannot be detected in time, maybe in future there will
be cure and diagnosis of these diseases. In other sectors like military or individual privacy it can
be a threat as big data is being accessible to government, multinational corporations and as a
result personal information of individuals is continuously being compromised. In short, future of
AI is bright as it can be useful in many fields as it act as assisting tool in almost every industry
(Winter., 2018).
CONCLUSION
From this essay it has been summarized that Artificial Intelligence is used in various
sectors. Its use has been continuously increasing in organizations as well as in individuals
whether it is for translation, prediction, detection, etc. It has been replacing human experts in
various fields either with robots or with any other software or system. It has been summarized
that Artificial Intelligence can be an aid in future with some side effects.
