Demand and Supply of Medical Tourism in Malaysia

The practice of people traveling to another country to receive medical treatment at lower prices and high-quality medical facilities is referred to as Medical Tourism (Meštrović,2018). Individuals have become accustomed to traveling abroad for medical treatment (Deepa, 2020). In the graph below, 25 percent of individuals prefer to seek medical care within their own country, but 35 percent prefer to seek medical treatment overseas, while the remaining 40 percent are classified as emergency cases (Deepa, 2020). In Asia, Malaysia is considered to be among the best and most attractive medical tourism destinations (Ayob&Masron, 2014).
