1ETHICAL SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE IN COMPLEX CONTENT
Introduction
Most social workers during their practice have to deal with difficult life situations. If the
situations were not so complicated to resolve, then people would often happen to manage on
their own without the help of a social worker (Trotter 2015). This paper mainly focuses on
the proposition of the difficulty of the situation of Skye that as a child safety officer had to
deal with the way, which contributes, to ethical and context responsive practice. The various
threads of this scenario emphasize on different phase of social work practice. They are:
Skye’s traumatic experience in the residential care, struggle of Janet while raising her other
three children, Skye’s issues with drug abuse and separation from her mother, struggle to
concentrate on her studies while having conflict with others and the wish of Skye to visit and
live with her mother. The above list of issues is not only comprehensive but it also tells that
the child safely officers have to assign in both creating practical preparations and emotional
and behavioral substance of the scenario. Social workers are a section of the official and
managerial systems and as a child safety officer it has to work. I have to consider the lawful
rights and responsibilities that are expert and official, and that my clients have parents and
citizens.
Key aspects of the practice theory
Practice theory is a feature of social work theory, which deals with ways to perform social
work where thoughts are developed to authorize models and theories of practice and the
means of practicing. This theory and model will aid in the investigation of the scenario and
resolve the issue of Skye (Dalkir 2013). The theory tries to create sense in the social work
that includes a formal and informal group of thoughts and ideas. For further clarification, a
formal practice theory is usually written, in print, confirmation and analysis properly worked
out in a balanced ordered form. It provides broad thoughts that can be useful deductively to
exacting practice scenario that means the ideas are practical to the circumstances quite

somehow than the condition creating ideas. Unlike, Skye’s residential care facility in
Queensland, who take have been taking care of her from the past three years, they do not
support her mentally or emotionally. My major responsibility as a social worker would be to
check on her physical health, her studies, and her day-to-day struggle with other conflicts in
the residential home, drug issues, injuries from fights, and the love and care that she misses
from that living with her mother (James 2017). I need to fulfill her wish of visiting and living
with her mother keeping in mind all the other aspects and protective orders. Informal practice
theory illustrates on thoughts and practice achieved in life and. It is useful inductively that
means the hypothesis derived from the specific scenario and is widespread to other applicable
put into practice situations. This would require making decisions about the similarities and
differences in this scenario and a generalized situation. The situation must be carefully
handled with relevant knowledge and ideas by analyzing the complex contents with people
and organization involved.
Identifies important practice relevant questions
The important relevant questions for exploring the scenario and possible complexities would
be whether Skye would be recovered from the residential home and live with her mother,
whether her mother could take the responsibility of Skye along her three other children
(Ridley-Duff and Bull 2015). In addition, whether Skye could continue her studies as she has
been doing well, whether Skye could be treated as other teenagers and lead a normal life
rather than dealing with the drug abuses and fights. These strong and relevant questions have
been identified to explore and investigate the scenario and various other contexts.
Relevant strategies for enquiring into the various contexts
Social workers tend to deal with different complexities with different individuals or some
official responsibilities. The Practice theory tends to stipulate measures that have taken place

with family, which is relevant to this kind of scenario. Many other practice theories like task-
centered, solution-focused practice or behavioral practice assume an accurate of behavior.
These systems or strategies would give ideas about this scenario and categorize a response
that Skye and her mother will understand and accept (Punch 2013). For instance, the task-
centered strategy would help the social practitioners and customers to spot a sequence of
tasks to be shared. Solution-focused practice generalizes achievement in their lives to other
problems, which Skye is facing in the residential care where she is facing difficulty. By the
help of these relevant strategies, it will be easier to enquire into various complexities of the
situation. I would have to deal with then complex relationship between Skye and Janet and
other family members, with a lawful term on some of the criteria’s of social welfare
stipulation, and the condition of post of kind service lies outside of most theories. As a child
safety officer, I need to come up with different strategies to handle complex situations like
this. It is required for the social workers to bring out the thoughts and strategies that approach
from practice theory and model jointly with additional feature of social work information in
which they work (Santamaría and Santamaría 2015, pp 22-42). Organizational knowledge
deals with government and agencies regulation that involves safety of the child and
residential care facility of Skye. Practitioner knowledge includes experience gathered from
practice, which is likely to be unspoken, private and context-specific. User knowledge
includes users’ information of their lives, circumstances and utilization of services, also
including the observations of children and teenagers. Research knowledge including
methodical investigation dispersed in information. Policy community including facts obtained
from managers, official certification and examination of strategy research (Hepworth et al.,
2016). The different knowledge and resources are given below in the diagram:
