Introduction
The Australian Construction industry is one of the largest growing sectors in the country
with along with the commercial construction projects which has increased with almost more than
18% in the recent years. Along with the rapid growth of the industry it can also be said that there
will be a demand in the large share of the overall GDP, employee more and more people in the
industry. Thus it will also contribute more to the larger economy of the country. According to the
author Deegan, Rankin & Tobi (2002) the Australian construction industry is known to get the
influence from the huge amount of population growth, housing , technology and the increase in
the availability of the labor force across the country. The author also says that more than 1.6
million are employed in the construction and home building industry. Therefore it can be said
that the construction industry is not only the GDP producer in the country but it is also the largest
employer of the country.
Brickworks Limited is one of the most popular Australian owned or based group which is
engaged in decision making, developing, manufacturing, distributing the raw materials and the
sales of variety of building and construction materials across the country. The organization
Brickworks Ltd was founded on June 21, 1934 in NSW. The organization was formed in order to
protect the Australian Brick Manufacturing industry during the time of Great Depression. In the
year 1939 the organization changed itself from a public to private company. As because the
organization used to deal with the construction materials it eventually started dealing with the
sales of property, property trust and other types of management in waste that was issued by the
government of Australia. However this led the organization to manage the development of the
land in Australia which became the second main part for the company to work on. Whereas the

first focus of the company is still on the building of Product Group and the third focus of the
company is on the Investment group of the construction building group (Deegan, Rankin &
Tobin 2002).
The organization is headquartered in Horsley which is in NSW, Australia. The
organization is known to operate in most of the states throughout the country. The Corporate
structure of the organization seems to be like on three main groups which are the Building
Products Groups that is a branch responsible for operating under 11 brands maintained by the
company. The operations of this branch range from warehousing to logistics. The second branch
is known for developing The Land and Development Group which is known to make use of the
surplus land brought by the company in Australia. The branch is mainly known for dealing with
the land scales, property trust, and waste management. The third branch or the group is known
for making the strategic decision regarding the business. It seeks the business opportunities,
making judge mental calls, and generating various types of projects. Additionally it also serves
the tactical planning for the business organization.

worth 45% interest in Washington H . Soul Pattinson. It has also provided a stabilizer to often
