Evidence Translation Poster High blood pressure refers to a condition to force blood against arterywallsistoohighwhichiscommonlyknownas hypertension. It can be considered as a situation of human body when blood pressure is measured above 140/90 and it consist severe if blood pressure is calculated asabove 180/120. In context of this essay, it is based on the problem of high blood pressureandfocusonrelevantsearchstrategyandquality appraisal tool. Research Search Strategy •Cifu, A.S. and Davis, A.M., 2017. Tool of Evidence Translation This research uses the awareness to adherence model by considering several factorslike awareness, agreement, adoption and adherence. It is necessary to follow these guidelines to take cognitive and behavioural steps. In context of this research, the search strategy used is to review articles related to selected research question includes to consider them which are published from 2015 to 2020. It includes inclusion criterion to consider few of websites like Pubmed, healthline.com, mayoclinic.org, WebMD etc. The exclusion criterion is to avoid previous article that published before 2015. Background References Appraisal of Evidence Translation In case of this study, the biases can be address adequately with the help of following the guidelines. It has been recommendedthatappropriateguidelinesshouldbe followedtomakeresearchmorereliable, validand feasible so that findings can be applicable in clinical settings effectively. Clinical Question and Rationale Clinical question/PICO question: “Is medication is more effective than using improved lifestyle including balanced diet or physical exercise to avoid problem of high blood pressure among people having age of 50 years and above.” The high blood pressure is a condition when blood pressure increased to unhealthy levels. It includes various symptoms such as shortness of breath, nosebleeds, flushing, dizziness, chest pain, visual changes, blood in urine and headaches. However, this investigation has a rationale to understand the effectiveness of taking medications for high blood pressure or follow improved lifestyle to maintain better health condition. It includes several medicationslikebeta-blockers,diuretics,ACEinhibitors, angiotensinIIreceptorblockers(ARBs),calciumchannel blockersandalpha-2agonists.Moreover,thelifestyle improvement consist avoid using alcohol, smoke or any drugs, daily physical workout, balanced diet etc. to avoid occurrence of high blood pressure problem. P: People aged 50 years and above I: Use of medications C: Improved lifestyle O: Maintain normal blood pressure Quality appraisal This investigation is used the effective method of CASP tool which can be defined as critical appraisal skills programmed in order to carry out randomized controlled trials. It is designed to gain support for making sense of evidence attained by clinical trials about high blood pressure condition. Summary of Findings Considering the given information, it has been analysed that use of medication after occurrence of condition of high blood pressure is suitable to maintain better health of an individual. However, the use of improved lifestyle is much effective to avoid the occurrence of high blood pressure problem among people aged between 50 years and above. Overall, the improved lifestyle to effective as compared to intake medications for hypertension then people should focus on better lifestyle rather than in taking medications after suffering from disease.
