INTRODUCTION
 Management theories have evolved from an increasing emphasis on authority and structure.
 It is concerned with efficiency of employees and organization based on management
practices.
 There are many theories regarding what motivates workers and knowing how these theories
and practices have arrived can help in dealing with the employees.
 This report presents the concept of evolution of management practice before industrial
revolution, development of management practices and growing management practice in
post- industrial era.

Analysing developing changes in the
current management practices
 There are several practices followed by organizations related to management. But organizations modify it based on
the needs. Factors that are changing the management practices are the pace of change, globalization, social
expectation, technology and diversity. Some important changes that are required in current management practices are
stated below.
 Operation management: It refers to the physical process involved in producing and delivering products and
services. It includes procurement of material and inputs and converting materials into finished products. Today, many
manufacturing companies are using computer aided device. Organizations also manages the supply chain of the
organization to find the high quality of materials at lower prices.

 Information management: Today, organizations are highly dependent on the accurate
availability of information in order to take decisions. The main purpose is to get the right
information at the right time. Organizations are having huge data and the recent development
in information management is the use of Big data. It comes with variety of resources like
government transaction, business transaction etc. It can be in any format like numeric,
structured, unstructured, social media etc.
 Contingency management: The scientific management theories are based on certain
assumptions and can be modified as per the requirements but contingency view rejects the
assumptions, for it every situation is uncertain.

 Engage workers: Currently, organizations are emphasizing more on employee engagement. Workers
working individually are mostly interested in the pay checks they get and are nit concerned with the
organizations. So, many organizations are implementing practices to increase employee engagement.
Engaged workers work more enthusiastically and productively which helps in achieving
organizational objectives and attracting fresh talent in the organization.
 Rewarding employees: It involves proper application of management theories and practices. In this,
employees are rewarded based on the performance. This rewarding system helps in motivating
employees which in turn improves their performance and productivity. Sometimes appreciating
employees in front of everyone works more effectively than any other mode. So, many organizations
are implementing practices for attracting and keep its employees motivated.

harmony among its employees. Working in a team is a big challenge and can't be done easily. It
requires patience and dedication and leadership skills. So, every team is given a leader to
manage the team. Being in team helps in solving the problems easily and efficiently.
 Simplifying decision-making: This the another area where management theories is being very
useful. By delegating powers to the employees on the basis of their performance and position
has helped organization in carrying out decisions that are quickly. This creates trust among its
employees and motivates them to improve the performance and achieve targets which will
result in overall organizational success.

Future development in management
practices
Future management practices is not only constant but also exponential both
in the term of scope or speed. These transformations resulted a radical change
in the business environment, change in the organization structure, change in
the emerging trend of economy and technology.
 Self management: Self management means a team of 10 to 12
employees decided whom to serve, how to allocate the tasks, where to
rent office, how will integrate with the prospects. They will monitor their
own performance and thereafter take corrective actions if it is required.

 Better deal with complexity: The future of management is more likely based on the extension of existing
management principles and practices to encumbrance high level of complexity. Management has to train its
employees regarding the complexity in the processes, how to deal in such situations. Organization needs to
provide motivation to its employees so that employees tackle the situation smartly.
 The future management relies on adaptation and flexibility: Future management requires a complete re-
invented management principle. Management innovation may not amount to a new management paradigm, it
may possess a unique capacity to create difficult to duplicate advantages. With increasing pace of changes in
terms of technology and adaptability, it requires implementing system that is flexible enough to such changes.
Most important is the technological changes and innovation which can be in relation to production process,
procurement system, logistics, automation etc.

 Managerial skill and work are evolving: Change in technology will challenge managers to
reconsider their roles and also redefine their operational principles. Technology may remove
employees but it will require highly qualified personnel to deal with technology. Employees with high
skills in technology management is essential as everything is now done systems which are interlinked
to one another so that everyone can have the relevant information.
 Transformative vision: The most important managerial skill is transformative vision. Transformative
vision means ability to predict markets and trend, make optimal business decisions. Management has
to be visionary in the process of management, it has to understand the changing needs of the
employees, business environment in order to survive and grow.

CONCLUSION
 It can be summarized that management practices have changed a lot with the passage of time.
 Before industrialization, what management meant to be, how it has affected the lives of the society.
 Many economists came up with the theories for development of management practices scientifically and
implementation of those of theories and its impact on the organization during industrial revolution.
 The growing needs of management practices post industrializations and the effect it has on the lives of
the people and organization.
 The development in current management practices and the potential changes in the future organizational
environment.
