Summary of the article
Enterprise resource planning system is considered as a most effective system that helps in
meeting the needs of the organization. With the use of an ERP system it becomes easy to
facilitate the organization to develop the business process effectively. The article has focused on
evaluating the importance of ERP system within an organization. The public sector organization
has decided to implement ERP for the purpose of enhancing the business performance (Shah et
al. 2011). The paper has been divided into four sections for the purpose of providing a better idea
about the enterprise resource planning system.
Enterprise resource planning helps in aligning the business process with the business
performance. The main aim behind including an enterprise resource planning is to improve the
working process that is carried out within the organization. However in order to improve the
business functions it is important to ensure that proper methodology is selected for the motive of
integrating ERP system within the public sector. The factors that has the potential to influence
the ERP system performance includes change management, lack of proper support from the top
management, gap in business requirement and lack of vendor support (Shah et al. 2011). Thus it
can be concluded that for the purpose of successfully implementing an ERP system within an
organization it is important to ensure that proper analysis has been carried out for the purpose of
meeting the needs of the organization. Moreover it is important to ensure that the top
management has the potential to maintain the system properly.
The paper has provided a brief overview of the public sector understanding the
functionality of the organization. With the help of an ERP system implementation it becomes
easy to manage the IT costs and also helps in staying focused towards the goal. The aim reason
