all the aspects of how to gather data and the way to analyse it is included. A good methodology
9

of research administers scientifically sound findings (Park and et. al., 2021). It is a systematic
procedure that includes techniques utilised in identifying, processing as well as analysing the
data related to the topic. This section enables the return to evaluate validity of the study. The
analysis and information about the research philosophy, approaches and key strategy used to
undertake and carry out current project has been provided as below along with supporting their
selection with valid justification:
Research Philosophy- This section of research methodology tends to provide and reflect
about the broad topic of the study which tend to deals within the development of the knowledge
as well as also supports effective engagement of researcher to gather and analysis data. The
different types of the research philosophy that are applied by a researcher to carry out a project
consists of the realism, positivistic, interpretivisim and pragmatism. It has been seen that the
realism philosophy is based on use of both qualitative and quantitative work thus it is complex
on nature (Harris, Taylor Jr and DiPietro, 2021). While the pragmatism also based on mixed set
of data collection that is more time consuming in nature. Further, positivism supports objective
review of facts thus, lack of generalisation of data. Therefore, with respect to the nature of the
current study applying and making use of the interpretivisim philosophy is appropriate and most
suitable. The main reason and the justification for the use of the interpretivisim philosophy is
based on the fact that it helps and supports the better integration of human thoughts and
behaviour in a detailed and theoretical manner to ensure and lead to better analysis and
achievement of set objective.
Research Approach- It forms out a significant part of a research project that supports a
descriptive plan to have better data collection, analysis and its interpretation. Deductive and
inductive are two main types and forms of the research approach out of which one is being
selected by the investigator as per the nature of the study. The use of inductive approach is
seemed more suitable and appropriate for current project as it supports emergence of new set of
theories along with better generalisation of facts (Beretta and Søndergaard, 2021). Beside this,
the application of inductive approach within current project also tend to supports and enables the
researcher to effective understand the set research objectives along with successfully determining
the valid outcomes based on theoretical and in-depth data.
Research Strategy This section of methodology tends to supports and provided a
sequential plan in order to render and provide direction to the thoughts and understanding level

of the investigator which allows and implicate them to conduct a project in more systematic
manner. There are various forms and types of the research strategy that includes of the
undertaking of the action research as well as experiments, case study, interview, survey,
observation, etc. With respect to current study, use of the case study strategy is being made for
the purpose of collection and analysis of the relevant data. Along with this, the use of case study
strategy is seemed to be appropriate and justifiable as it focuses and supports an in-depth

the qualitative and quantitative set of the research design. From these two the quantitative design
of research is tending to be objective in nature and emphasis on collection of data in the numeric
terms. In the other hand, the use of qualitative nature of the research design is based on
conducting a detailed and in-depth process of investigation based on theoretical collection of
data (Fjendbo, 2021). Thus, with respect to current study making use of the qualitative nature of
the research design is seemed more appropriate and suitable to effectively understand and
explain the behaviour and experience in order to properly investigate about the fact which are
leading motivated employees within food retail sector of UK.
Data Collection Methods
Primary and secondary are two main methods of the data collection out of which the
primary tends to comprises and includes of the gathering of data directly from participants while
secondary is based on pre-exiting data. Thus, making use of primary data is not seemed suitable
for current project as it involved collection of first hand data that is more time consuming and
complex in nature. Use of only secondary source of the data collection has been made within
current project that is suitable and appropriate to supports a cost and time efficient way of study
(Selimović, Pilav-Velić and Krndžija, 2021). The use of the secondary source of the data
collection tend to comprises of analysis of the data from the pre-exiting set of literature that is
easy to analysis and review and also supports a better base and framework for generation of
knowledge. The current research comprises of the making use of the online form of the articles,
book, journals and other literature to carry out and conduct current investigation.
11

Reliability and Validity
To ensure and maintain the reliability and validity of the current research project selection
and use of only authentic set of data has been made. Therefore, use of the inclusion and
exclusion criteria has been made for the selection of appropriate set of article and journal for
current project. The inclusion criteria comprise of selection of the articles that have proper date
of publication, author name as well as proper copyright that endures the reliability and validity of
the facts. Along with this, the articles which are older than 2015 are excluded to use for current
project as it seemed to provide obsolete and outdated information. Thus, only lasted set of
articles and journals which are having proper copyright are selected for current project to have
higher authenticity and reliability of facts (Ahmed and et. al., 2021).
Ethics
While undertaking and conducting a research project implication of ethical principles are
vital and essential to ensure the higher efficiency and reliability of project. The ethical
consideration comprises of maintaining honesty in the work along with supporting openness as
well as ensuing confidentiality and privacy of facts has been effectively adopted and implicated
in current project. Beside this, BERA code of ethics are also being applied to ensure undertaking
of current study in an ethical manner (Belas and et. al., 2021).
Limitation of the research
The limitation while undertaking current study comprises of the issue of access to only
limited source of data. Along with this, time taken in selecting and analysing the appropriate and
relevant set of the articles and data is also quite difficult and time consuming which is also a
main challenge faced during current project.
Chapter Four – Data Analysis and Findings
It forms out a vital section of every research project that tend to provide and supports the
analysis of the research findings. It has been seen that the data analysis tends to includes and
comprises of the process of the systematically applying to the logical techniques in order to
effectively describe as well as illustrate the collected data and facts to create and generate better
understanding level (Khukhia, 2022). The current study is based on the qualitative set of the
research method thus use of the thematic analysis has been made to have the analysis of findings
of current study. The thematic analysis tend to comprises of the method for analysing the
