This paper discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the account of strong objectivity in feminist standpoint theory, which argues that knowledge is socially situated. The strengths include the ability to attain objectivity through social awareness and the importance of inclusive knowledge production. The weaknesses include the potential for bad science and the view that knowledge production communities may be too weak to uncover social interests and values. The paper concludes that individuals are connected to their social situations and cannot be separated from the physical world.
