the field of facilities managem ent in the field of Food and Beverage operations, etc.?
Speaker in its informative session explained about various skills like Legal knowledge, leadership communication, IT skills one should
have in the field management of both companies. The key skills mentioned were as follows :
IT skills : One must be proficient enough in IT skills so that a properly organized computer based management can be done in the KFC and
Burger King. Well acquaintance with technology makes employee more valuable in comparison to others.
Communication : Good communication and inter personnel skills are essential for maintaining good workflow within the KFC and Burger
King. This skills perhaps is one of the most important aspect. To be a good employee one needs to be understood and to understand others
effectively.
What are the importance of req uisite skills in KFC and Burger King as explained by Guest Speaker (please fill in as appropriate):
Some of many crucial skills were thrown light on by the lecturer which includes Customer service skills, cultural awareness, Communication
skill and professionalism of which customer service skills and cultural awareness were given more importance.
Customer service skills : The person explained that customer service is about being positive and proactive in the KFC and Burger King. It is
important to maintain calm and happy face unbiased of which customer one is dealing with. No matter how small the workplace or firm is it is
job of employee to ensure that customer has great time along them.
Cultural awareness : One must be culturally aware and adapt to all different attitudes and norms to build a successful career.
How has this Guest Speaker's Session impact ed on you r Knowledge of Food and Beverage Operations
From the session I got to know that one should not hire new employee aimlessly. One Properly train new recruitment, poorly trained employee's
results higher turnover and diminish guest experience. Always taste all the menu items before serving. Listen to guests' feedback and make
necessary changes. Include simple, fresh and inviting items in the menu. Another thing I have understood is never ignored cleanliness is the key.
Always maintain the place hygienic where the food is served within KFC and Burger King. s
Perform a self-a ppraisal of you r u nderstanding and key skills required in facilities management:
I have memorized a rule of never adjusting on quality standards when serving F&B. All the changes done in the menu, ingredients should be
well communicated in the entire team of KFC or Burger King.
Based on your self-appraisal, what would you do to improve on these skills?
Guest speaker changed my mind of relying complete on degree. It made me focus on learning things based on the experience and observing it
whenever on I visit KFC and Burger King.
