relaxing both.

techniques that are used to enhance the overall well-being of the old aged clients.
3. People concerned about the cultural norms- This is on considering the special needs of those who are approaching to get a
massage based on some cultural traditions such as Korean, Indian, Chinese, etc. Each of these massages consists of different
techniques and are apparent to fulfil distinct requirements of the client approaching for the same.

Assessment Task 2 : Reflection

Massage therapy is critical as it is related to providing therapeutic massages of tissues and soft joints. In accordance to my job
function, my goal will be to treat client injuries and order providing satisfactory experience and general wellness. Further, my focus
will be on getting in touch with health practitioners in order to reach maximum number of health clubs, naturopaths, acupuncture
physicians, etc. In addition, my goal to work independent in own therapy centre where my focus on will be on rejuvenating healthy
massage experience to service users.

In accordance with goals the major constraint will develop customer base for which I will ensure follow up calls, enabling schemes
and will be focusing on extra discounts. Further, developing contact is the another constraint because every health club and therapist
has fixed practitioners and already trusted therapist (Cady and Jones, 2017). Apart from this, visualizing independent journey and
licensing is another concern which is time consuming and costly.

Association of Massage therapist and Australian Natural Therapist association are the leading organisation which offers opportunity of
growth to new learners. AMT is a big time opportunity for building network because it offers range of workshops, meeting in which
the individuals get to learn and experience the therapist situation the association enable knowledge developing which will assist me in
overcoming constraint to my goals. However, coordinating practices of therapist centre with Massage Association Australia (MAA)
will help me in building bridge between health professional and massage industry (Why join a massage therapy industry association?,
2017). This will allow me to explore the options of my field with mutual respect.

In accordance with massage practices, my focus will be on treating client injuries in order to assist their health concerns. Health
strategy of my therapist centre will be to provide advocacy to service users on daily therapy practices at home. Moreover, the focus of
therapy session will be according to comfort of client and not according to rules therapy centre (Smith, Stallings and Burrall, 2010). It

will enable flexibility to customers. In addition, healthy strategy will also be providing nutrition feedback to clients which will help
the in managing healthy life with self care.

Nutrition feedback is the health strategy which will assist me in attaining my therapist goals because there are various people who
attends regular session but also requires additional advocacy on self care. For instance, old lady suffering from body main visit every
alternate day for 1 hour therapy session but she is unable to feel difference. According to her the day she takes massage is normals but
she faces acute pin every alternate of session. However, in accordance to this, therapist will diagnose her eating habits and nutrition
intake. On the basis of analysis the centre will provide diet chart which will comprise regular protein, nutrition and, vitamin and
calcium intake to lady according to her age and health.

disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, identity, age etc. In accordance with diversity key areas of difference it can be outlined
that there are various factors which makes difference in therapy practices.
 Culture, race and ethnicity: Culture, race and ethnicity it is based on marginalization or differences in languages and cultural
backgrounds which leads to diversity. However, Cultural diversity can be due to difference in lining and thinking style of two
people in therapy centre. Further, race and ethnicity shared ideology of common ancestral people which makes them different in
distinct ways.
 Disability: Disability is the situation of impairment where the person lacks developmental, intellectual, mental, physical, sensory
which restricts his or her inclusiveness.
 Religion and spiritual beliefs: Religion and spiritual beliefs are considered as diversity which is due to difference in spiritualism,
humanism and climate of two people.
 Gender, including transgender: Inclusiveness is differentiated on the basis of gender that is males and females or transgender This
is part of discrimination activity of society.

 Age and generation: Age and generational differences is the gap which represent difference of attitudes between people of
different generations or age which lacks level of understanding.

marginalized and are differentiated which restricts their inclusion due to societal negligence.

and has no relation to health services and therapies. In addition, inclusion of client and service provider will help in boosting
confidence of practicing together will be aid in improving health outcomes at centre.

 I can organise therapy campaign at aboriginal island in order to make people aware about the massage and its health benefits. This

service users to a specific extent which can reach to other people in society.

presentation demonstrates clear view point.
Assessment Task 3 : Case Study Reports
Part A
Case study scenario 1
As per the booking, it has been meant for a female adolescent. At the time of the booking, it has been clear enough that the
client requires a female therapist only. At the time of their conversation, it has been mentioned that they need a female therapist but
they did not make any discussion about her cultural identity that she is a Muslim. During their conversation, although the client told
for the request of female therapist but because of some reason, it did not reach to the clinic's end. As a result of this, a male therapist
was booked by the clinic for client. While completing the requirements of filling the information about the client, they did not mention
any of their cultural needs and also, as the fact of requesting of female client has been lost during the conversation, so when the client
and her fathered entered the room, they found that there was a male therapist who will be performing the massage. This made her
father upset. It is obvious that it will be disgusting for her father to know that after person request of a female therapist, the clinic has
set a male therapist for her. This can also raise various questions in her father's mind like about the image of clinic centre etc. For

addressing the issue, female client can clear the fact to his father that even after booking a female therapist, why did they choose a
male one. To this, there might be the possibility that the clinic can honestly reply that they were not aware of the fact that the client
need a female therapist. So, it can be considered that there was a fault of client as well as of clinic. It is because there might be the
possibility that if they had mentioned the cultural identity needs and requirements at the time of filling of customer's information, may
be the clinic has confirmed about the preference of therapist. Therefore, the clinic should also ensure to confirm the preference of
therapist once again before entering in the massage room. It is because this should be client's choice as it depends on the comfortable
level of the individual. So, these steps can be considered in order to prevent such issues and complications in the future.
Case study scenario 2
As per this, there are only two male therapists available and no single female therapist. So, this would be obvious that to every
client, one of them would have to perform the massaging. After two days, a concerned parent contacted the clinic and addresses the
issue of the fact that when their colleague's daughter went for massage, she was asked to get undressed and they don't find this
efficient. At that time, her parents and guardians were not present. So, in such case, the clinic can't be held responsible because it was
the choice of client to have a massage. If she would not be comfortable at that time, she could have left it. Also, before booking the
appointment, the family members did not confirm about the massage clinic because if they would have, they must be aware of the fact
that the clinic involves only two therapists and both of them are male. So, this is considered as the responsibility of client to ensure
properly about the centre where they are going for having massage. Therefore, for avoiding such complications and issues later, it is
better that the client and the guardians may ensure before only about the clinic and the therapists involved. Also, they can set their
preferences before only. If she had provided her preferences, then there might be the possibility that the clinic had informed her before
only that there are only two therapists and these are male. Then it is up to the client that whether they still want to continue the activity
or not. Also, as the girl was a teenager, so it is the responsibility of her parents to investigate properly about the massage centre in
which she is interested in. As she is a teenager, so she might not that mature. So, for preventing any further complications, parents can
ensure to investigate properly and these clinics should also ensure not to involve any activity that can make the client uncomfortable.

Case study scenario 3
In this case, the client is reflecting the issue that the massage clinic one's touched her inappropriately. The fact that is to be
ensured here is that after one week, she raised the issue. In such case, the clinic can reply to solicitor that if there was something like
this, then why did she raised this fact after one week. So, in such cases, the clinics should ensure initially in the list that what factors
they will be covering. IF it is okay with the client, then they can proceed and if not, can stop it at the same moment only.
