to better patient care. In EBP, communication skill plays a crucial role by
ensuring proper gathering and understanding of information to provide better
patient care.

Social care
EBP is crucial for health and social care organization as it aims toward providing best care available
for the patient. The importance of EBP are mentioned below:
• EBP helps in providing the most effective care by considering the best available evidence in order to
improve the patient outcome.
• EBP support in promoting an attitude of inquiry among health professional that results into
improving the health care service quality.
• It ensures the use of finite health resources in wise manner and relevant evidence consideration
which making funding health service decisions.

Proposal
Aim “To identify the role of Evidence based practices (EBP) in Health and
social care
Objectives  To determine the importance of EBP for health care practitioner
 To identify the challenges that healthcare practitioner face while
implementing EBP
 To ascertain the role of EBP for current health issues faced by patients.
Methods used  Qualitative method is used for performing this investigation which
support in performing in-depth evaluation of data.
 Secondary source is used to gather information as it allow gathering of
authenticated information from published sources.

Own Skills and knowledge for conducting literature review
 The ability of critical thinking is my positive point as I belongs from the medical
background so I am having proper knowledge regarding the aspects of health and
social care. Therefore I am also able to determining their opinion of people who are
having similar sort of knowledge to conduct literature.
 My reading and writing skills are good which support me in assessing number of
sources so that accurate information can be gathered and over this I usually write
some notes to remember it for later which support me writing the literature review
effectively.

Communication is consider to be a crucial factor within health and social care which allows
the care providers to understand the patients and make best advice to them for cure. As by
communicating with patients effectively it become easier for the healthcare service provider to

then concluding the final outcome.

6Cs and ten commitments: nurses' understanding and use
of courage
An article is given by Barchard F, sixsmith J, Nall S et al., 2017 which presents information
regarding 6Cs and ten commitments by providing an understanding of courage, leading
change and adding value framework that are crucial for a healthcare provider in order to
deliver better outcome. This article presented several grounded and research theories which
state that the delivery of compassionate care is only possible with the courage, skills and
commitment that are consider as the highest priority of a health care professional.

Communication skills 6: Difficult and challenging
conversation
The current article is based on basic difficulties and challenges that an individual face while
conversation by focusing over the ways to approach people that are angry, aggressive,
confrontational or hostile. From the information presented by Rahum shah 2010 and
Harwood, 2017 it has been found that nurse that work for patient suffering from mental
illness are more subjected to threatening behaviour and abuse. Apart from that in such
situation patients get angry over the staff members. So at that time good communication skill
help in recovering from these challenges as by effectively interacting with patients it become
easier to cool them down.

This article contains an information regarding the survey from which it has been identified
that only 38% adults have worries regarding staying in hospitals or finding staff to speak with
them. It state that effective communication involves being embarrassed, environmental
issues, anxiety and information overloaded. But from the findings it is clear that these worries
or fear can be removed with proper use of facial expression and body language for effective
communication. As sometimes patient may not be clear with the terminology used by nurses
and they assume things wrongly. Hence by proper use of communication it can be avoided.

In the context of healthcare organisation, communication plays vital role in providing
subsequent facilities to the patients in respect to improvising their health conditions.
Effective communication is effectual in developing nurses self esteem and self confidence
and encourages job satisfaction, thus with the help of suitable communication channel an
individual can develop their skills and providing suitable health care facilities to the needy
people. A proper communication channel helps in implementing good relationship with
patients, which could be positively resulted in analysing the needs of people and providing
them satisfactory facilities which are effective in improvising their health condition.

From the literature review performed over the role of communication within health and social
care it has been found that communication support a health practitioner to develop an
effective understanding regarding the actual issues of patient and state of mind. This help in
ensuring better practices to treat patients by listening to them and then providing treatment as

When research is conducted with the help of evidence based practice, then it is easy

patients and actions has to be taken after understanding it.

With conducting this investigation, I am able to learn about evidence based study which assist
me to understand about ways to deal with patients. This makes me understood about ways to
deal with consumers and provide them best services. I am able to improve my research conduct
activities and communication skills. This research builds confidence in me to conduct
investigation and I am able to learn new research topic.

Contribution towards innovation and improvement in evidence
based health services
I have contributed towards innovation by accepting changing with are taking place in current
market. As in social health organisation, there are numerous patients, hence I am able to deal
with them with proper communication. Evidence based activities assist me to understanding
ways through which critical case of patient can handled. This makes easy communication
with team mates and patients as well. I am able to deliver best services to consumers and
discuss positive as well as negative aspects about it.

Conclusion
From the information presented it has been found that health care practitioner can improve
their practices by effectively acquiring, reviewing, applying and auditing the information
regarding patient's issue so that regular improvement can be made over practices. It support
in making better decision to provide high quality services and ensuring regular improvement
through evidence based practices.
