products, software as well as online services such as, Air pods, laptops, I pads, phones etc. The
variants that Apple offers in terms of memory or storage comprises of 16,32,64,128 and 256gb.
MAINBODY
History of company
Apple is one of the leading company which was founded on April 1, 1976; 43 years ago
by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. It's headquarter is located in California, U.S.
The key people of the organisation are Arthur D. Levinson (Chairman), Tim Cook (CEO) as well
as Jeff Williams (COO). The company offers vast number of products & services like, Apple
music, news+, Tv, I-pod, etc. It design as well as develop the gadgets in such a way that it
becomes easy for the user to use them. iPhone has been Apple's biggest product in generating
revenue since many years. The company officially launched and released its first smartphone for
public on June 29, 2007 after a lot of trial & errors. It was known as iPhone 2G. Six weeks after
release of the model, plastic screen was replaced with a glass one. As of now, the latest releases
are XS max as well as XR model in September 2018. The best considered models were 6 & 6+
launched in November 2014. There has been an immense development in iOS processor i.e. iOS
1 in 2007 to 12.1 in 2018. Earlier, earphones were used by people which have been upgraded to a
better version i.e. wireless ear pods (Daccord and et.al., 2017).
Structure of company
A vast business structure is followed by companies that includes, corporation, a complex
structure with certain rights, privileges and liabilities. These can yield tax or financial benefits,
that can be offset by other considerations such as, increased licensing fees or decreased personal

losses equally (Albusays and et.al., 2016). They are usually not involved in day to day operations

where they can reach to a common goal and achieve profit targets, and an individual
entrepreneur is a single owner who is the boss of his/her own company. Apple follows
corporation business structure as it is a large firm, authorised to act like a single entity and is
recognized by law. The main objective of Apple is to satisfy customer's needs and generate high
revenue.
There are a number of organisational structures such as hierarchical in which employees
are grouped with every member having one vision for the overall growth of an organisation.
Vertical is one that relies on managers to command and control their employee's work. A matrix
structure involves setting tasks as a grid. It joints people with similar skills and pool them for
work assignments, and in divisional every firm has it's own department that contains necessary
resources to support their product line. Apple follows a vertical structure, where decision are
taken by top level executives and they allow employees to take part in decision making process.
Every manager has it's own unit that comprises of team members who are assigned with number
of responsibilities (Organisational charts, 2019).
Stakeholders of company
Stakeholders are those individuals who are having similar interest in a company. They
can affect or be affected by an organisation's action, objectives and policies. It includes creditors,
employees, government, suppliers, shareholders, customers as well as unions. Apple aims to
create new version of it's products for their customers to satisfy them. The company intends to
achieve profit targets and keep an edge over competition. The stakeholders of Apple are
suppliers, consumers, regulatory authorities, subsidiaries and press etc.
Challenges that are currently faced and take place in future for the company
The biggest challenge faced by company is of Apple pay as the entire digital payment
segment is controlled by Alibaba's Alipay and Tencent's WeChat pay (Marks, 2014). Both of
these allow transactions through their own commerce level. Hence, if customer wishes to buy
any product using these applications, they will have to follow a complex process. Amazon has
also launched it's own payment platform in which usage of Apple pay will be prevented. The
products made by company are on expensive side which makes it difficult to push the users to
buy them. One of the major challenge for organisation is to launch fresh designs as well as
develop new models with different features so that clients are attracted towards them (War
payment challenges faced by Apple, 2019).
