Success is a attribute that is related to accomplishment of purpose or aim set by a
individual. It is necessary to understand the importance of success as for each individual it is
defined in a different manner. For this there is a acquirement to understand the process of self
development that is related to the way self learning is taking place (Tricio, Woolford and
Escudier, 2016). Present report is based on the reflective writing of individual presentation
based on success. Reflective statement is indicating the various learning aspects and the areas of
further improvement. There is also application of knowledge in future time period for a
individual. All this information is further applied for development of an action plan.
TASK 1
Reflection
Present report is based on presentation to get insights of how success can be attributed for
a individual and achieved in long run. I worked in a group presentation with topic related to
success and how it can be achieved by a student in course of their academic progress. In this task
I will be got to opportunity to enhance the Present level of my self confidence. While working in
the presentation there were many instances that helped in learning some new aspects that can be
helpful in future professional development for a student. Some of these learnings, experiences
have been discussed in this report by use of experiences of the whole presentation.
Learnings: The main learnings from the presentation is the basic concept of success that
is it is related to achieving planned goals and the importance of success in context of a student.
Then I learnt the importance of success in life of a student that is being more sustainable, more
confidence in financial terms (Tutticci, Lewis and Coyer, 2016). There is also a need to focus
on being more healthy, active and helpful. For a student it is also crucial to be safe from illegal
activities.
The importance of communication skills that is applicable to academic skills. These skills
consist of managing of stress, listening skills, ability to enhance the non verbal communication.
Further I learnt the importance of emotion control and one of most necessary tools that is
management of stress for a student. I also got the insight of communication skills in a
professional context that is very necessary to maintain better eye contact, enhance the
vocabulary, presentation of idea and development of effective listening that is helpful in a
workplace.

The most interesting part of whole presentation was the way there was working on
different aspects in order to understand the main role of communication in life of a student to
ensure chances of success (Lam, 2018). For this I realised that success is just not limited to a
academic or professional achievements but more than that it is related with accomplishment of
personal goals of a individual. There are some specific strategies & planning that can be
followed by a student to avail the opportunity of success in both personal and professional
career.
Use of information: All the information that I learnt in this presentation is very helpful in
future context as a student I have to realise the importance of success and ways that can lead me
to the path of success. For this there are some skills such as effective communication skills.
Along with it something different was the role of listening skills to shape the personality of a
individual. Controlling of emotions and management of stress can be done by a student by using
straight talking (Mulvogue Ryan and Cesare, 2019). These are some of tools that can help in
development of outer and inner personality. Apart from this the role of developing non verbal
communication such as effective body language & gestures are very crucial in development of
personality. All this learnings will be applied in practical life in order to understand the positive
impact it can have for me in shaping my personality as a student.
Apart from the above mentioned information that were the main aspects according to
which whole presentation was framed. But there were some ambiguities that were related to how
to effectively implement these attributes successfully as a student. There are many issues that is
time management one of main problems because there are lot of roles such as to attend classes,
regularly do assignments that have to be performed as a student. So, there comes a need to
prepare a time table in which there is proper distribution of available time according to these
activities. I was very confused about all such information and way it has to be applied practically
in order to achieve success (Williams and Surakanti, 2016). Another issues was small internal
conflicts that arise on account of different views of each individual who were part of group
presentation. I had to deal with these issues where there was a need to focus on effective
strategies of time management. I dealt with this issue by making a time table in which a
particular amount of time was allocated to each activity that I had to perform during whole week.
I made this time table in the starting of week and then continued this for one week. Initially I felt
difficulties in following it regularly built soon I became use to it as it was not a one time activity

but I wanted to inculcate this time table a long time period. For purpose of dealing with smaller
conflicts I made sure that every individual realises that there is need to establish better
communication channels so that there is no scope for any type of conflicts (Wang, Liu and Cai,
2019). And in case of difference in views the majority view point will be considered. All such
efforts will help in reduction of the issues that were arsing in course of

Areas to develop further
According to my overall personal experience of the group presentation I have developed
certain academic and professional skills but there are some skills that had to be worked ion to
develop further (Coughter, 2016).
Academic skills:
There are certain skills that have to be developed in order to enhance the present skills
level. Such as these are skills that have to be worked on as mentioned below:
Academic skills: these are the skills that are having focus on enhancing the academic integrity of
a student and to increase the focus towards shaping the personality. Some of the skills that I felt
through this presentation that need to be developed further are discussed below:
Time management: There are approximate 168 hours every week. I felt that I am
spending only 40 hours towards my actual self study. So there is a need to increase it to 60 hours.
I will have to divide my time in such a manner that there is proper availability of time for each
and every activity apart from studies such as 10 hours for recreational activity, 10 hours for some
physical activity like yoga, meditation or cycling (Tuomainen 2016). I want to have some
specific time period every day for working on personality development that is enhancing my
walking style, sitting postures. This was a major issues that I felt through this presentation that
there is a need to focus on proper allocation of limited tome period for all activities.
Researching: Detailed researching is a skills that has to be developed with time as it
helps in maintaining quality of work. There are different attributes that are associated with the
way a person is able to research on aspects to draw a proper conclusion. I felt that I can do a in
depth analysis from all the sources that are available so that there can be proper researching on
all information for reaching of relevant conclusions.

Professional skills:
Professional skills are very crucial for the development of a individual. It helps in
enhancing the process of personality development that will help a person in reaching to their
long term goals. Some of the professional skills that I felt through this presentation has to be
improved and inculcated in personality are discussed below:
Public speaking: There are some skills that are very crucial to ensure that there is proper
articulation of information & views. Such as in the presentation I was not able to effectively
communicate with my audiences (Jolles, 2017). So, this is something that I need to work by use
of approaches such as regular taking part in public speaking, initiatives in classroom speaking
will help me in developing a habit of fluent speaking.
Managerial skills: When a individual is part of professional world there comes the role
of managerial skills (Van Emden and Becker, 2016). These are specific qualities that is helping
people in governing people and activities. A good manager is able to communicate properly,
have empathy and is well organised. There are some of the managerial skills that have to be
improved that consist of planning of projects, decision making skills, delegation of roles &
responsibilities, team leadership qualities and internal team communication.
Flexibility: In case of professional skills there is a need to focus on ability to adapt to
changes For this there is a requirement to focus on various perspectives such as contribution to
organisation, anger management, solving of problems, receptiveness and analysis. All these
skills have to be enhanced because business environment both internal and external is highly
dynamic keeps on Change very frequently. To deal with such changes individual has to be
flexible enough.
TASK 3
Develop an action plan:
For dealing with the weakness there is need to focus on skills of individual. For this there
is need to develop strength and weakness of individual. So, for this personal development plan is
prepared. This plan helps a individual in evaluating their present postilion and how can they
achieve a specific target after a specified time period. In present case from the above mentioned
topics it has been observed that there is need to work on some aspects and skills so that these
weakness can be overcome.

crucial to ensure that there can be individual development. Action plan is a personal
developmental plan that helps in understand the key areas where a individual is lacking behind
and then working on these weakness to deal with future issues.
