INTRODUCTION
Business environment is a marketing term that refers to various forces and factors that
affect ability of an industry to build effective consumer relationship. Global business
environment can be defined as a societal and task surrounding of the industry. The study aims to
evaluate business environment of Cameco at global level. Cameco is a fast growing energy and
chemical company that based in South Africa. The industry has also expanded in various
countries such as; Canada, Australia, Mozambique and Gabon and also planning to expand their
business more countries very soon. The study will evaluate the influences of globalisation on
organisational governance, structure, culture, leadership and on the overall function and provide
an understanding on ethical and sustainable influences on the functions. Lastly report will cover
further influence factors that can affect decision making and strategy for globalisation.

a) Evaluation of the influences of globalisation on the organisational governance and leadership,
structure, culture and functions
Globalisation of the business activities, enhanced use of information technology and the
impact and limitation of the activities of Cameco on various areas (Hamilton and Webster,
2018). The company is required to aware about the context in which they operate Organisational
culture is a pattern of shared basic assumptions that can be learned by the group or team to solve
the issues of external adaption and internal integration. Corporate governance refers to the
procedure, structure and various information used overseeing the management of the company.
Hofstede's Dimension of culture
This model is essential for understanding that how differences in national cultural can
have impact on the organisation. Under this model, there are five cultural dimensions; Power
distance, Individualism, Masculinity, Uncertainty avoidance index, Long-term orientation. This
model state that, national culture is diverse in terms of their value and beliefs. Company is
required to understand the power of various factors that can affect by the globalisation (Frynas
and Mellahi, 2015). The expanded business of Cameco go through various cultural diversity that
influence the workplace. For instance; power distance is correlated with income inequality and
individualism is related with the wealth of nation, uncertainty avoidance is related with legal
obligation in the developed countries and masculinity is associated to the percentage of the
national income that is spend on social security.
b) Evaluation of the influences of ethical and sustainable globalisation on the functions of
Cameco
The concepts of sustainability are used in several disciplines and it is required that
company understand it very well before entering into new global market (Amankwah-Amoah,
Osabutey and Egbetokun, 2018). Business ethics can be refers to a form of applied or
professional ethics that consist morals and ethical principles or problems that arise in business
environment. Sustainable globalisation represents a fundamental transformation on how people
are approaching of doing business in global world. Globalisation ethics and sustainability can
simply defined in terms of ecological and social responsibility of Cameco. Cameco is largest
publicly traded uranium company in the world. The ethical and sustainable challenges can affect
the functions of the organisation. They required to be ethically responsible towards the society,
their culture and towards the environment and if they do not follow the code of conduct it can

become worse to them (Aras and Crowther, 2016). In the globalisation, business ethics and
culture plays and important role.
The business ethics have positive and negative influence on the functions of Cameco. For
instance; the company mainly deals in chemical production and mining of uranium that can
affect directly or indirectly to the environment and to the society. The harm on the environment
can drive perspective of consumers, society as well as of the government towards the
organisation in negative manner. On the other hand, the ethical and sustainable globalisation
enhance the employees' attachment with the company and they can gain advantages from the
government of the different countries as well. The code of ethics is also appears as quality
improvement tool for the industry.
Ethical and social responsibility is continuing commitment by the organisation to behave
ethically and sustainably to contribute to the economic development and improvise the quality of
life of their workforce. Cameco is responsible towards the environment, society and employees
that are working in the company (Crane and Matten, 2016). By utilising effective CSR strategy
company able create competitive advantages in the global market. It can improvise the
organisational functions as with the help of this strategy, company able to create a comfortable
and valuable working environment for the workforce that result in enhanced productivity and
commitment towards the company.

A) Evaluate different ways decision making that can work effectively in global context
CAMECO decision making is depended on their goals and objectives. CAMECO can
apply three strategies in their decision making that help to the company to take decision that
make their operations effectively and smooth at global level that helps to increase the demand of
the company as well as enhance the productivity(Kuada, 2016).
Strategic decision making:
CAMECO is a chemical and mineral industry that need to use different decision making
for handling different contracts with investors and suppliers. This strategy helps to CAMECO to
take decision regarding system, marketing strategy and structure of the organisation that the
company needs to achieve their targets as well as setting up their business operations at
international level.

Operational decision making:
The decision making of the CAMECO, they should consider knowledge about local
market, culture and many more factors that are influence in the decision making of the
CAMECO. According to this factor they can make internal process for producing goods and
services. They can enhance their contract at global level that helps to make effective decision
making for the expansion of CAMECO.
Tactics decision making:
There are various factors that impacts the decision making of the CAMECO such as
marketing mix, external and internal environment of the company, competitors, suppliers,
customers and investors etc. but they also help to make an effective decision making because
they provide the current marketing position of the company as well as dimensions of the
company and helps to make an effective decision making that fit for enhancing the growth of the
company in international market(Nawaz, 2018).
The effective decision making helps to CAMECO to fit in different environment and
enhance the sales and profitability of the organisation. There are some factors they need to
consider in the decision making of the CAMECO such as political factors of the country. Some
times they implement some legal implications to the operations if the organisation that makes
difficulties for the company to work in foreign country.
B) The various routes to internationalisation and key barriers.
There are number of routes available for CAMECO to enter into international market such as
Exporting, partnering and strategic alliance, licensing and franchising as well as acquisition etc.
Exporting:-
It is the easiest way to enter into international market. According to the research, most of
the firm begin their internationalization by using this method. Exporting means selling their
products and services in international market that are sourced in home country. CAMECO can
use exporting method for the expansion of their market on international level. It is the best way
for CAMECO to distributing their products in foreign country(Minto-Coy, 2016). The
advantages of CAMECO is that method provide faster entry as well as low risk to the company.
CAMECO can also employ an agency who will sale its product in global market it comes in
indirect exporting and agency will handle all operations on behalf of CAMECO. There are some
barriers that may affect the sales of the CAMECO in foreign market such as in exporting, there is

a low knowledge of the foreign country as well as low control over the factors that effect the
sales of the CAMECO and negative impact of transportation.
Strategic alliances:-
It is another way of enter into new market and new country through strategic alliance
with the local partner of the foreign country. It involves contractual agreement that is arise
between two or more enterprises. This parties come into a contract for a certain period to
accomplish a common goal. With the helps of strategic alliance, CAMECO can develop their
routes at international market and that provides various advantages to the CAMECO such as that
helps to build the understanding of local market, culture as well as way of doing business in
particular market. There are some barriers is also their for CAMECO such as high costing rather
than other methods and integration issues between two corporate cultures.
Franchising:-
Franchising is the easier way of entering into international market for the rapid expansion
of CAMECO. Because it has strong brand image under producing minerals and chemical that
helps to made easy entry in new market and provides various advantages to the CAMECO such
as fast entry and low risk. There are many barriers for CAMECO for global expansion such as
organisation face currency risk, political risk and global product structure and many more. For
example, Cultural barriers can also be created because of different culture and language there
may be communication gap between employees(Hart and et.al.,2015). One more is the barrier of
currency can create losses for the organisation because of currency fluctuation.
Acquisition:
It means a transaction that can helps to can control over another firm by purchasing their
stock, exchanging stock. With the help of acquisition, CAMECO can enter into international
market because they provide quick access into new market and can examine the laws of the
foreign country that helps to provide fast entry as known firm in the international market.
CAMECO get the established operations in target market that helps to enhance their sales and
profitability at foreign market. There are some barriers is also their in the expansion of
CAMECO such as it consumes very high cost that enhance the prices of the product and services
and another one it creates integration issues with home country office.
Joint ventures:-

CAMECO can expand their operations in global market with the help of joint venture.
With the help of joint venture, CAMECO expands their business operations with other country
by distributing equal share and equal proportion of the profits. CAMECO can access to new
technology and adopt management skills by joint their operations with other company in
international market (Bruni-Bossio, 2018). It provides some advantages to CAMECO such as
gain local market knowledge and the company can get maximum control over their operations.
There are some risk is also their in the expansion of CAMECO in global market such as higher
risk due to unknown company as well as it makes slow entry due to taking setup time.
CONCLUSION
From the present study it has been evaluated that globalisation is an opportunity for
Cameco to expand their marketing strategy and grab consumers over the world. Globalisation
had drive the leadership, structure, function and culture of the company in positive manner and
enable the leaders to develop more styles to lead the followers. Ethical and sustainable
globalisation has been considered as the growth opportunity for the industry, if carried out
effectively. For effectively implement decisions in global context, leaders and managers of
Cameco introduced various ways.
