Introduction
Global warming due to the climate change has caught the attention of many global
agencies such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), Organization for Economic Co-
operation and Development (OECD) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA). There have been many several policies framed to address the growing issue (Lane 2017).
One of such concerns has been shown by the Paris Agreement, which took on the climate
change. The policy is continually focused in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions in Air
(Peters 2017). However, an effective outcome is still expected. What is more ironic was the
separation of the United States from the Paris Agreement. Meanwhile, it has become a matter of
serious concern because the greenhouse gas emission is expanding in its availability in air.
Transportation is one of the potential contributors in the rising natural gas emission. The growing
urbanization in China and India has fuelled this fact strongly. The coming future is expected to
see a rise in demand for the every kind of vehicles. Additionally, the Electric Vehicles (EVs) that
are supposed to reduce the CO2 emission in air is still way behind to capture the global market
(Fripp 2017). Moreover, it seems evident that there is a continuous increment in green gas
emission.
New policy statements by American President
The Trump decision to quit the United States participation from the Paris Agreement took
many with surprise. Experts believe that the decision could have two-fold objectives. The first
one could be to eliminate the entire polices made under the administration of Obama and the
other to remove any obligations, which cause the domestic energy development to suffer
especially the fossil fuel (Aldy 2017). However, as per the report submitted by EIA in 2017, it

does not look like a factual thing in the coal industry. Investors have not shown their utter
commitment to the establishment of more coal-fired power plants. Additionally, the global coal
consumption might face no growth in the next 40 years (Böhringer and Rutherford 2017). The
Trump decision to quit from the Paris Agreement does not look very appropriate as the
agreement has aimed at reducing at least two-thirds of the greenhouse gas emissions. This is
indeed a concern for the United States as well. The change is already in process. It is expected to
see the differences (Iea.org 2017). The United States president Mr. Donald Trump was
responsible for the consequences. It is being believed that president Trump will take an entirely
different route for energy policy than what the Ex-US president Obama had opted. However, this
will be interesting to see whether this is feasible to go completely against the thought process of
Obama (Ladd and York 2017). However, the decision to quit from the Paris Agreement mean
that the United States will have to depend on their strategies to control the rising content of CO2
in air. On the other hand, the different counter actions have produced no worth results yet. In this
regard, this will be interesting to see how Trump changes the entire climate related policies of
Obama. The main purpose of this assignment is to analyze the United States climate and
renewable energy policies. Moreover, this also analyses the difference in approach than what
Obama had opted. The paper also analyses the impact of energy policies on the different
organizations.
American President’s decision to quit from the Paris Agreement
Trump’s decision to quit from the Paris Agreement was because of many reasons that
also include the boosting of coal production and controlling the emission of CO2 by using
adequate technologies. On contrary to this, the industry is on a decline. It is failing to meet the
commitment made by Trump, which is to offer more jobs. The coal industry is indeed facing stiff

competition from cheaper resources of energy such as natural gas, wind and solar. Wind and
solar have been much in practice to provide renewable energy to customers. Additionally, the
trend is shifting from coal to renewable energy resources. On the other hand, one of the reasons
that have been cited by Trump behind the United States withdrawal from the Paris Agreement
was to support the coal industry. This is contradicting with the emerging trend (NPR.org 2017).
Climate Change Policy
The climate change policy in the Trump’s administration will observe numerous changes
from what it was during the administration of Obama. The first big change will be in the Clean
Power Plan adopted by Obama. Another big change will be in the form of an enhanced
production of energy on the federal lands. This has already witnessed a huge success in the
administration of Obama. The dramatic fall in prices of oil and natural gas was because of its
incremented production. Trump will further invest in producing more oil and natural gas.
Another big difference in the administration of Trump will be observed in the form of
restrictions that were imposed by Obama on the coal production. Coal production will have
restrictions as well but to a lesser degree. The demand for Natural Gas is very at the global
platform. The Obama administration had blocked the construction of any further export
terminals, so that, it could control the export of natural gas to the needful countries. It is expected
from the Trump administration that there will be more exports of natural gas to the needful
countries. More exports of natural gas will bring the much needed environmental relief to the
countries abroad (Forbes.com 2017).

Environmental Sustainability is huge in demand and it is much in talk because of global
warming. There is a requirement to reduce the content from air that increases pollution in air.
Moreover, renewable energy resources can bring the much needed changes in the environment.
This further means that there is a requirement to depend less on the non-renewable energy
resources such as the coal. Coal is extensively used for producing power and energy. However,
there is indeed the requirement to have an alternate option for satisfying the demands of power
and energy through its production from renewable energy resources (Ismagilov et al. 2017).
There were huge restrictions imposed on the coal production during the Obama administration.
However, Trump will bring notable changes in the coal production. Indeed, Trump will foster the
progress of coal industry in order to support more jobs (Tomain 2017). This is indeed up against
the beliefs that support an enhanced inclination towards the use of renewable energy resources.
The use of coal as a resource to produce energy and power might never let the expectations come
true. The numbers of vehicles are increasing year after year. The urbanization process in the
OECD countries is contributing to the fact (Cherif and Hasanov 2017). The Trump decision to
foster the growth of coal production is contradicting the fact. The Trump decision might not help
the country in supporting the rising needs of OECD countries. Additionally, CO2 emission will
be more as there will be an enhanced production of coal in the United States (Ma et al. 2017).
Switching to renewable energy
It is necessary to switch over to the renewable energy resources to help in reducing the
emission of CO2 in air. The urgency has been felt as there is expected more cars and other
vehicles on the road. However, the United States appears to be going the other direction. It seems
that Trump has decided to reverse the every single energy policy of Obama. Obama had
supported the use of renewable energy resources. However, Trump has been rude over the usage

of renewable energy. It has been further confirmed by Rick Perry who is the secretary of energy
in New York. Perry has admitted his opinion in an astonishing statement on the Trump move to
ignore the prospering of renewable resources of energy. Perry argued that the Trump decision to
reverse the policies on renewable energy is just an incredible degree of ignorance (Phys.org
2017).
Conclusion
It can be concluded that Trump has made some good changes. However, some of the
changes just appear to be contradicting with the one in the Obama administration. The paper has
supplied some information like ignoring the growth of renewable energy resources. Such
information just shows that efforts have been given to change the existing policies of Obama
without even conducting an analysis on factual things. The production of coal has been
supported by Trump, which is again contradicting with the mass beliefs. Coal has been found as
one of the potential contributors in increasing the content of CO2 in air. Additionally, the future
is expected to see a huge growth in the number of vehicles on the road. Emphasis was required
on the production of renewable energy resources to support the expected rise in vehicles on the
road. However, Trump has committed to foster the success of coal in the United States. This is
up against the Paris Agreement as well, which is aimed at reducing the two-thirds of the CO2
emission from air. The United States separation from Paris Agreement does not look like a good
move if the administration is not able to reduce the CO2 content from air.
