INTRODUCTION
In today’s business environment, an event industry is growing at a very fast speed. An
event is refers to the planned occasions which is organised by an organisation or individuals.
Everyday the business of event management organisations is increasing and giving a great
contribution in the economy of country (Clark and et.al., 2017). There are many reasons for
organising events such as cherishing moments, celebrate happiness, success, etc. In the event
management industry, there are many different types of events on the basis of scope and size are
organised which include charitable, personal, corporate, etc. These events play an important role
in the country as they are becoming a strategy of international communication with other
countries. This will assists in better connection with different brands and peoples of different
countries. In this context, Excel Central London is undertaking which is an international
convention centre that organising events is undertaken. They are organising many types of events
such as Olympic, commonwealth games, etc. This report is focusing on the diversity of global
events and also includes the factors which give an impact on development of events. It also
covers impact and legacy of global event on the environment of country. There will be a
discussion of management strategies which helps to support event development.

In the business environment, event industry is growing very fast. Events are defined as
the planned occasion which is organised for the public gathering with the specified time and.
Some important objectives of event organising are business profitability, entertainment, celebrate
happiest moments, etc. These are the main reasons for organising events. In addition to this,
events include seminar, corporate event, conferences and exhibition, festivals, music and art
performances, trade shows and product launches (Ranasinghe and et.al., 2020). This shows that
event industry has a high diversity as there are many reasons identified. Event has categorised
into many ways such as form, content and size. In this event size is one of the important type in

which events are conducted on the basis of their size and scale. Event size includes local
community events, hallmark and mega events. These are the important events types on the basis
of events size.
It is identified that local community events are concerned with posting of festivals which
are targeted only for local audience. It is found that these types of events are very beneficial for
country as they are strengthening belongingness, engendering pride, and creating a sense of place
for the society. For example, Asian Mela-Waltham Forest as one of the important example of
local community events. Whereas mega and hallmark events are the important part of major
events which are targeted a large number of populations of different countries. This can be better

This type of events is focusing on the places which assist in awareness of games and

 Type A is considered as a mega events that includes large events such as the FIFA World
Cup, Paralympic Games and the Summer Olympics.

on the country. These are organised on a regular basis that means it is the part of annual
domestic cycle.
 Type C is one of the spectator and major competitive events that generate a great
economic activity such as Grand Prix Athletics.
 The type is D which comes under showcase events and they are the part of annual cycle
such as National championships.

These all events should follow a proper structure in order to organise as they are big
events which cannot easily manageable (Barkey and Morgan, 2019). It is found that some

Games 2010, it was found that there was a negative legacy as India won only one solitary
individual Olympic gold medal. That shows that’s not enough and competent in

development
It is analysed that Global events are not just impact on the economy but also provides
many impacts on different levels of environment (Jeyaprakash and et.al., 2020). It includes
cultural, social, environmental, etc. These are the major impacts which found in different levels

of environment. Organising events can be providing positive as well as negative impact so that’s
why it is necessary for country that they should use some strategies in order to manage and
deliver a successful event. Strategies include management strategy such as effective planning
with a deep research.
