INTRODUCTION
Protecting people from dangerous products have been considered as one of the urgent
health challenge by world health organisation. Dangerous products are food products and non-
food products that are consumed by people and make negative impact on their health. Food and
drinks that, are high in saturated fat, sugar, Trans fat and salt causes health problems like
overweight, obesity, other diet based and related diseases. Along with this use of tobacco is also
a dangerous product for health. This is a country-based report on healthcare challenge or priority
and for this healthcare challenge is protecting people from dangerous products and country
selected is New Zealand. In this report firstly global health challenge will be discussed and
followed by discussion and implications will be carried out in report.
Global Health Challenge
Global health challenge of protecting people from dangerous products is concerned with
protecting people from consumption of food and drinks that are dangerous to their health. This is
because such products and their consumption can contribute to development of several diseases.
Other than this, dangerous products also include tobacco and similar products that are
harmful for health of individuals (Urgent health challenges for the next decade, (2020).
Consumption of such products can also give rise to different foodborne diseases. Cakes, biscuits,
sugary drinks and other junk food are high in sugar and fat and this is why are not suitable for
healthy eating. Increasing consumption of such food and drinks creates healthcare challenge in
which people are required to be saved from such consumption to avoid potential impact on their
health. Fast food is also a type of food that has very low nutrient value, however can be both
healthy and unhealthy, but it is mostly unhealthy and contains high fat and sugar.
