to another to perform business. And now the people are travelling for various purposes, which
include the travelling for business, opening up a new business or industry at different country,
for living to some other place or country, for travel or leisure purpose, for attending a wedding,
for organizing a destination wedding and so on (Castles, 2013). Today, there are several reasons
for the people to travel and they enjoy that. And total the travel rate is increasing with the
increase with globalization.
Global tourism statistics trends and flow- There are several aspects in travelling. These
aspects may include increase in the rush of travelers, rush into the stations, generating income for
the place, increase in the development of tourism place and the so forth. All these aspects include
both national and international tourism. All these trends are described as follow:-
For national tourism: According to the 2018 survey conducted, it is concluded that
approximately 39% of the people has agreed on last minute booking. This show the craze and
eagerness among the people to travel. People are ready to accept the last minute transport for
their travelling. All the thanks go to advancement of the technology. Technology has caused
easiness into an individual life. Through technology a person can book its tickets, see the
availability for tickets and transportation along with their cost. Technology also benefited the
people as they do not have to travel to the station to book for the tickets. They just need to now
book the tickets online and have to reach at the destination where there transport will take away
(DellaPergola, 2017). That’s it. According to the reports of 2019, there are approximately 3.5
million people who are travelling with a motive to visit a destination. The traveling trend is
increasing in such a speed. Among these travelers they are travelers who travels to United
Kingdom and the amount with the people has spend is more than £2.3 billion. This clearly
concludes that the number is travelers into UK is getting on increasing with the increase in time
and from this the income for the state is also increasing as the visitors are spending their income
there.
For international tourism: According to the report there are around 671, 207,

the graph presented above there are total of 600 million people who travelers to the Asian and
Middle East countries. And apart from it there are a total of 1000 million people who travel to
USA and UK. From the report or graph it is very much clear that the people chose more to travel

the people whose country’s currency is greater than the others can prefer to travel to the country
whose currency value is low as it will be very much cheap for them to travel to that place.

LO 2

areas of the world.
Growth of the tourism depends totally upon how the state and nation does its marketing
worldwide. To attract the travelers every country tries to attract people from other countries so
that they can visit. The foreigners or the travelers will be like customers for that place who can
generate revenue to them. There are many factors from which the tourists feel very attracted to
them, these factors are as follows:
Geographical appeal of different tourism destination: People feel attracted to the
geographical factors such as beaches, mountains, hiking, and many more. The UK has many
different destinations which attract the people like wildlife, beaches, mountains, rivers, scenery
and many more. People get attracted towards and visit there. For example people prefer beaches
at summer because of the heat.
Historical appeal of different tourism destination: There are some people who have very keen
interest in history and always have the eagerness to know more about ancient things and
associated history with them. These people generally prefer to the place like Egypt, Middle East
and so on where there is so much for history.
The four A’s of destination: Every destination is categorized by four A. And they are:
Attractiveness, it refers to the different factors which push the people to make a visit or to travel
to that place (Horn and Fry, 2013). These factors may include the environmental factors, climate
factors, historical factor, and entertainment factor and so on. Another A is Amenities which
refers to the advancements or types of facilities available into that country. More advanced the
amenities, more will be the comfort level of that place. Access, refers to the medium or the mode

through which an individual can access to that place. There are some places at the mountain
which can be reached only through tracking; there are places which can be reached via bus, or
train, or airplane and the so forth. And at last, ancillary, it refers to the food and other lodging
facilities to the customers or guests. Every place has its unique food or drinks which the guest or
travelers are very much curious to taste them.
P3 Determine specific reasons for the growth of key global tourism generating and receiving
areas of the world.
There is a model called TACL which is developed with the concept of product life cycle.
This model is also used for attaining the interest of people with time. The explanation of this
been provided below by taking two examples:
Stages of TALC Edinburgh Castle Coca Cola London Eye
Exploration The caste has a huge history
into the country. It comes into
the category of royal house
where royal or elite people
live.
For cola Cola London eye
there is about 3.75 people
come visit to the place.
Involvement People who live near to the
castle provide the basic
facilities or amenities to the
visitors. They generate the
income via them. The local by
opening the shops or facilities
centers generate their income.
The involvement of the people
into this place is very much
seasonal. Therefore the people
generates income from them is
very much low as it is on
seasonal basis.
Development As more and more tourist are
attracted towards the place,
the government is more into
the development of that place
like maintaining it, providing
many facilities at nearby
places and so on.
The development of this place
is comparatively low as
compared with castle.
Consolidation The number of people has
reach to its peak at the time of
its season. At the time of its
season the rush is very much.
The excessive use has
electricity has raised problem
for the place. Problem may
include the social,
environmental as well as
economical.
Stagnation Continous efforts of the
government have successfully
made the place alive.
Tourism at this place has been
maintained through the
establishment of various
elements like electricity and
other for its functioning.
Decline Its place is very much far from
decline as it is considered as
an attractive point for the
tourist.
Tourist prefers to go to
another place or activity when
they have the option for it.

Factors which are driving growth of specific destination: There are many factors
which decide for the growth of the destination. These factors can be the historical or ancient
history attach with them. This also may include the cultural factor, environmental factor, climate
factors and many more. The growth also depends upon the efforts done by the government to
make or maintain that place for tourism purpose. The level of marketing done also consider as a
factor because tourist people does get attracted from such things. As in the case with Edinburg
castle, the government also puts the efforts to maintain and save it which is comparatively low in
the case coca cola London eye.
Future predictions and forecast: As in the case with Edinburg the tourism level will be
same as far and in the case for Coca Cola London eye the tourism level can get increase when
the government tries to market it and make it a better place to attract the tourist. Proper
marketing can do wonders. The people can get attract then by watching the advertisements or
marketing ways.
LO 3
P5 Investigate the role and responsibilities of key international organizations in the development
of global tourism.

the tourist would fell free and motivated in travelling that place. It also includes the number of
solo travelers because they feel safe. Apart from this the country also is facing from COVID 19
in which the whole world is at lock down state. This has stop the migration or traveling of people

taking the safety measures during this corona time. Safety measures may include maintenance of
distance, proper mask of people, proper facilities for sanitize, clean and hygiene environment
and the like.
Environmental: The environmental factor includes the climate or nay kind of dieses which is
spreading at current into the nation or region (Le, 2013). If that nation is prone to some sort of
disease or any sort of environment disaster then tourist would not prefer to go to that place

are very clever or cunning then also tourist people do not prefer to go there. Some places do face
the issue of corruptions and thief. To reduce or eliminate such issue the government has taken
the corrective actions or measures by employing the people who can take care of these tourist
people very well. This would reduce the risk of thief and corruption as the safety of that tourist
would be under the protection of government employees.
