INTRODUCTION
International tourism is define as the process in which individuals or people in group
travel from their home place to other new location with the motive to explore new place their
culture, way of living, diversities and many more (Theobald, 2012). Globalisation has
contributed in enhancing the market for tourism as countries are focusing on improving their
transport facilitates and services. The report is based on global tourism where focus is on
analysing the scale and nature of tourism in context of international environment. Moreover it
will help various industries to take corrective steps in order to improve their performance in the
marketplace. The topics covered in the report are strengths and characteristic of tourism industry
which help in attracting large number of potential customers and also help in identifying future
opportunities so that necessary steps can be taken in order to accomplish the desire goals.
TASK 1
P1 Determine the statistics and an overview of tourism in global marketplace
The nature of tourism is dynamic as it is never consistent and keeps on changing with
time and changes in the environment (Veiga and et.al., 2017). In the beginning tourism is
dependent on the taste and preferences of people visiting that is tourist. In present scenario the
nature and functioning of tourism industry is based on the trend which are taking place in
market. In context of tourism and travel industry the statistics regarding global trends are
explained below-
In context of tourism and travel industry it is influenced by various factors which are
revenue, number of visitors and many other related factors. The trends related to various level of
marketing are as follow-
National Tourism-
In the viewpoint of the survey conducted in year 2018 it has been determined that around
39% of the candidates prefer last moment booking as most of the plans are uncertain and
unplanned. People across the globe are able to plan their uncertain and last moment trip with the
help of advancement in the technology as it has made the process much easier and simpler. In
year 2019 it has been identified that approximately 3.4 million people has travelled and explore
various new destinations. The last moment booking has shown increase of 9% that is around 2.3
million people prefer oversea travelling that is number of visits in UK. The above describe data

has shown that there is continuous increase in the number of travellers and is good for tourism
and travel industry. In UK there is approximately 15 billion revenue is been generated from
travel and tourism across the globe.
In International Tourism-
Regarding international level, in year 2017 it has been identified that number of visitors
in Europe are increasing that is an increment of around 671 has been identified (Coca-Stefaniak
and Morrison, 2018). With the growing market trend there is need for educational and ecological
tour has taken place with the motive to develop and enhance the international scale for tourists.
In present scenario tourists are visiting new places and exploring them as it leads to better
experience and helps in increasing knowledge. Moreover the tour operators are influenced and
are arranging funds for ecological projects with the motive to support and develop the natural
habitants. The tourism industry in year 2018 has able to earn revenue of approximately £ 1.45
million with its ecological and educational tour factors. Gross domestic product (GDP) from
Tourism industry in USA, UK, Germany and Japan is approximately 47%.
From the above graph it has been identified that international arrival in context of tourists
is increasing that is currently it is in billions. From the graph it can been seen that there is
