Tourism is attracted at several destinations that are present across the globe. In the
process to attract tourism and enhance tourism improvement needs to be made to develop new
destinations in the country in order to attract more and more number of visitors. Generation of
new places in the country leads to growth and development of all the other factors that are

relation to generation of more and more amount of tourism among different countries and in this
relation various growth and development activities are conducted in this relation. Countries
which are full of natural beauty and good weather attracts lots of visitors. Together with this
technological ad infrastructural development of countries attracts more and more amount of

particular destination (Liu, 2014).
TASK 2
P3: Specific reasons for growth of key global tourism generating and receiving areas of the
world
Development of tourism industry is one of the important concern for government of each
nation as per current market. Tourism is growing and serving as a grate opportunity for
economical growth in terms of revenue generation, employment opportunity, removing poverty
and providing improved quality of life. So in order to achieve all of them each possible actions
are taken under an economy for enhancing its infrastructural development, maintaining natural
beauty, establishing new amusement parks and establishing historical monuments. All these
factors acts as a key attraction point for interested visitors to certain places. Europe, China, UK
Dubai are some of the most attractive destinations for tourist that leads to generation of more and
more tourism across national boundaries. Several reasons that leads to generation of tourism to
particular destinations in the world are as follows-
Heritage and Culture: Availability of a well renounced culture and some well
developed heritage leads to attract more and more amount of tourism to a particular destination.
Some of the well known culture in places like India, China, Greece and other countries generate
interest of targeted tourist group (Mendola and Volo, 2017). A culture defines life style, values
and beliefs and history in relation to a particular country and this is one of the reason for
attracting tourism to a particular destination. Monuments, historical buildings, parks, holy places
serves as a heritage for tourism purpose. As culture and heritage leads to attracts more and more

Availability of several tourist sports: A destination become more attractive when
number of spots are available to visit in the near by places. For example- Paris is selected as a
destination because of its archaeological infrastructural development, Louvre Museum,
Cathedrale Notredame and many more places. A visitor find it suitable destination to visit
because of the availability of number of places and travelling will be worth the money expended
for same. India is another destination which attracts more tourism because of historical
monuments and one of the seven wonder is their The Taj Mahal (Mohsin, Ramli and Alkhulayfi,
2016).
Natural beauty: Individuals in their daily life are very busy and surrounded with
buildings and innovative technologies. Destination for family vacations and other trips which is
full of natural beauty and some good experienced attracts tourists. Europe is a beautiful where

a maintenance program is introduced so that maintenance can be done and growth in tourism is
achieved to generate revenue in economy.
P4: Compare and contrast emerging global tourism destinations
Destination life cycle explain development and successive stages through which a
particular destination moves. Through this life cycle series of stages are defined for a destination
to move. In this life cycle development of the successive stages are defined that goes over a
period of time. Destination life cycle defines stage of a destination which is going as per current
market situation. Destination life cycle is elaborated with different stages that are as follows-
Exploration: At this stage destination was a unknown place to visitors. Initially few
number of individuals starts visiting such places to make access and generate knowledge in
relation to such destination. Words spread out of mouth about this destination and more and
more amount of tourists starts visiting such places and improved amenities and services are
provided their (Rogerson, 2015).
Involvement: Local people starts noticing that number of visitors are coming to the place
and they starts serving them with various facilities. This leads to start of a business for providing
food, transportation and and guide services.
Development: Involvement of local people is noticed by big organisations and then they
starts emerging that particular area into tourist spot by investing funds for development. Hotels,
transportations, roads, restaurants are developed and job opportunities are created at this stage.

Consolidation: At this stage negative impact is created on local economy. Industries
such as farming and fishing conducted at that place will be modified into tourism industry and
people needs to earn form tourism industry only.
Stagnation: At this stage destination is available with various facilities and services
demanded by tourists but lost its original or raw nature (Ruan, Li and Liu, 2017).

due to emergence of some new destination to visit and profitability is effected in negative way
with this.

TASK 3
P5: Role and responsibilities of key international organisations in the development of global
tourism
Tourism industry is growing across the globe and in order to maintain its growth and
development various roles and responsibilities are played by tourism organisations. Technology
and social media made tourism industry as centre of attraction and improved will of each
individual to visit places around the world. World Tourism Organisation is one of the biggest
organisation which considers all the actions at global level in relation to tourism industry. At
present WTO is considered regarding growth in the industry and also generating a positive

impact over other industries with tourism industry. Role and responsibilities of key tourism
organisations are as follows-
Minimising all the barriers: International Tourism Association, World Tourism
Organisation and some other organisations plays important role in minimising all the barriers
that restricts scope of tourism at international level. For this all the facilities that leads to growth
and development of tourism in different geographical boundaries are promoted. Growth and
development is made in such manner so that sustainability can be achieved in the industry for
future benefits.
Increasing tourism: Tourism organisations possess responsibility to enhance tourism in
each possible manner by initiating safeguard of interest to travellers. Policies and rules in the
tourism industry by these organisation are established in such manner so that no barrier is created
towards increment in tourism. For consumers policies in relation to packages which are pocket
friendly is introduced so that each individual can acquire tourism services and industry grow and
develop.
TASK 4
P6: Threats, issues and challenges to the future development of global tourism
Tourism is growing at a fast rate and generating high amount of revenues in the economy
and also leads to economic development of a country. Despite of multi-pal benefits and
opportunities that tourism industry possess there are number of challenges, issues and threats
faced by the industry at global level. Some of them are as follow-
Threat of terror: Tourism has minimised barriers for moving form one destination to
other and this is one of the greatest threat to an economy. Less barriers means more opportunities
for terrorists to enter into any country (Waseema, 2017). This leads to hindrance in the safety and
security of general public. For example- Attacks in Mumbai, France, America has created
negative impact on growth rate of tourism industry in several countries after such attacks. On an
average 200000 less tourists visited such places after these attacks takes place.
Climatic Conditions: Increased tourism has provided a threat of adverse climatic
conditions. Facilitating tourism services leads to growth and development of economy but this
growth and development sometimes takes place at the cost of climatic distraction. Growth of
infrastructure leads to deforestation and development at forest side and near water bodies leads to
9

high amount of pollution. All this situation provides adverse climatic conditions for general
public over that destination which leads to poor quality of life. Tourism organisations needs to
provide their concern in these situations so that effect can be minimised.
CONCLUSION
This project report is summarised as global tourism industry is growing and statistical
data in this relation provides evidence to this growth and development. Increasing trend in the
industry is noticeable over a decade and in order to maintain this trends needs to be noticed and
followed by different countries to increase tourism. Generation of required characteristics needs
to be made so that more and more tourist can be attracted towards a particular destination. Each
destination moves with destination life cycle and all the stages must be considered to make
improvement. Organisations available at international level plays important role in consideration
to development of global tourism. Their are huge amount of benefits for tourism enhancement
and despite of these benefits certain challenges are available that affects further development of
tourism industry at global level.
