Executive summary:
The study has two part or activities. The first activity discusses about Taylorism theory and how
it could be implemented in present days. What are the relevant changes for this theory to survive
in the present generation? The second activity discusses about globalization and the definition of
globalization by Professor Ghemawat. They believes that he has hi-lighted and how reality has
really proved our general conception to be wrong form his point of view.

Activity 1:
The workers in Australia, America or Europe will not accept the Taylorism in the present
times. The reason for this is the workers seek for security while working in an organization. They
have to consider the technology advancement and its implication in the work place. Thus if a
company is only target oriented and not giving proper security to the workers or are not updating
themselves with the technology advancement then the workers will also not work efficiently for
the company. The present generations in these countries considers this point and targets to meet
the workers security and safety for a better outcome in work. The theory has few flaws that
might hamper the systematic working of the organization(Giordano 2016). Thus, if the theory
has to be applied to the present companies then there has to be few changes need to be made.
The application of this theory can be considered in call centres however, there can be
some minor differences or changes required. As the work of the call centre is divided depending
on the workers capability and quality, thus the job role is assigned differently in that sector. The
use of this strategy might not be really of much help in that sector as the working pattern and job
style is completely different in this sector(Stoller 2015). The sector has a selection of employees
depending on their personal expertise on each matter. However, at few areas it can be considered
and used in a modernized way.
The mentioned strategy has a high scope even in the present days also. The strategy
basically defines the situation of strategic management and application of judicial ideas that
would benefit the workers and assure them a better work life. The foundation theory will have a
long last affect in later future also as it supports judicial management and affective use of ideas

and strategy that enhances production along with worker satisfaction(Witze and Warner 2015).
The theory claims for a better and sustainable work life that is very important in every work
place. However, few technology changes can be made in few areas that will help to create a
better environment in the work place and production. In any situation or generation if the
technology application and utilization are done judicially and efficiently then it assures success
and betterment from everywhere.
Conclusion:
Thus it can be concluded that if there is efficient use of ideas and strategies to help the
workers and make their work easier then it will automatically uplift the production and quality of
the work. The use of technology and latest ideas will further enhance the scope in the present
days. It is most suited for work areas where the workers are sub divided into sections and groups
that are specialized in different section, this helps to bring the best out of their quality.
Summary:
The activity has discussed about the theory of Taylorism and its implication in today’s
sectors. The present work sectors will not accept the basic theory as it is backdated, however, if
required changes are made then the same theory can be implemented in the work sectors. The
use of this theory in call centres might be accepted but not completely. Since the workers there
are appointed based on their qualification or expertise. The theory can be beneficial in present
days as they have the implication of judicial theories and techniques to improve the work quality
and benefit the company. There might be few technology change in this case to improve the
work place and production.

Activity 2:
The view on globalization has changes after listening to Professor Ghemawat as he
claims that the world is not totally globalised. Instead, it is semi-globalized and everyone only
considers that it is globalized. There are various things happening across the border which are
looked at domestically and taken as a percentage(Beck 2018). We often mistake it to be
globalization however they are not complete globalization. He states to look at the cross culture
as a percentage of the total. He gave example of international phone calls which is only 2% in
compared to the national calls.
I think the fear that people have regarding globalization is relevant as there are many
gaps in yet to be covered and are neglected by us(Dunning 2014). The fear that most people has
for globalization subsides with few data suggests something otherwise. The professor has given
an example of immigrants who are coming to new place to encourage the trade between their
native country and present country, this automatically increases the GDP with a 10% hike.
However, it is a controversial topic and has everyone’s considerations might not be taken.
Conclusion:
Thus, it can be concluded that we consider globalization from the upper crust, but there is
a huge gap in between the various nation or topography(Cronin 2013). The need for better
communication, understanding, and connection is required between the nations. Thus the
countries should enhance more connection between each other.

The activity is talking about the lack of understanding, communication and wrong
conception of globalization that is considered by most of us. Generally, we consider
