INTRODUCTION Business functions are the activities that are carried out by an organisation to ensure the proper working as per the desired standards and goals (Srivastava and Mock, 2013). Each and every organisation have specialised departments for separate area of activity. The specialist in such department are assigned specific task and responsibilities as per their area of expertise. There are several functions which play an important role as Marketing, Human resource, Finance, Operations and so on. MAIN BODY Inanorganisation,severalfunctionalactivitieshavebeencarriedoutbydifferent departments. All these functions have their own role in organisation that assist to ensure sustainability of firm in its target market for long run duration. Major functional departments of a firm are marketing, finance, HR, operation and production. These departments provide their servicesseparatelyorbyfunctioningwithdifferentdepartmentsinordertoachieve organisational target goals and objectives easily. Marketing: This department of an organisation works to promote the business as well as to reach out potential customers, prospects, existing partners, investors and so on. Main objective of marketing department is to analyse market need and requirement in order to serve quality services as well as to promote organisational services in front of target audience with a reason to enhance business profitability. Major marketing processes are promotion, distribution, pricing and sales. Finance: This department carried out some major activities in an organisation related to funds, reserves, tax, payment processing and so on (Cui, 2017). Finance department also holds some major responsibilities as devising budget for all business functions as well as to execute new or innovative ideas as per business and customer’s requirement. Some other major activities of this department is to manage wages and salaries, recording of cash flow as well as identifications of some major areas for the instant improvements. Production: This division play an essentials role and work some prominent functions for manufacturing and production concern. The major objective of this department is to manufacture and produce quality of goods as per customer’s requirement and need. Through this, organisation
satisfy demand of their potential customers. In organisation, production of goods takes place in order to grab opportunities of business growth on the basis of quality products and services. HR: This department play a most important role in order to provide guidance to all the departments for the effective working (Ha and Jung, 2014). Management of an organisation have been carried out by HR department by analysing major requirements of business as skilled workforce, requirement of resources and so on. Other major role of this department is to conduct training and development sessions, performance appraisal and reward system, recruitment and selection etc. HR departments also provide its services for the development of organisational culture in order to retain employees for a longer period in the firm. CONCLUSION From the above report it has been summarised that all the functioning departments of an organisation play an essential role in order to analyse opportunities for business success. All the departments provide its own contribution by analysing requirement in the its specific division.
