PROJECT SCHEME SUMMARY In this report roles of different departments of Zara such as- marketing, HR, finance and operations & production department are discussed. Further important of working together by these functions are analysed to find out the effectiveness of firm in achievement of business objectives INTRODUCTION Business functions are defined as the processes that ensures proper functioning and operation of business firm to reach effectiveness in the goal achievements (Business Functions, 2020). These are divided into two sub-categories that is core functions related with day-to-day activities and supportive that helps in proper functioning of core activities. ZaraisaSpanishretailerfoundedin1974anddealinginclothing,accessories, swimwear, shoe, beauty and perfume products. MAIN BODY Marketing This is an important activity of management that plays important role in identifying and analysing the needs and expectations of customers, communicating important informations about goods or satisfying the requirements of consumers(Shinde, 2018). Zara uses selective targeting strategies to fulfil the needs of customer and focuses on pull customers in rather than push 1
marketing out. For instance It's stores are located in big cities globally thus, people can aware about brand without promoting them on a broader place. Finance This department is responsible for allocation and effective management of funds needed for accomplishment of tasks and activities. With respect to Zara financial department is responsible for ensuring activities like- day-to-day recording of business transactions, measuring quantitative position of firm, monitoring & controlling cash flows, taking financial decisions for company based on comparison between estimated budget and actual results(Pearce, 2016). HR It plays vital role in planning, organising, staffing, training & development of personnel within the organisation. HR department of Zara co-operate with designers who are expert in their filed for provide training to company's designers in order to increase their product quality. In order to boost customers service in each store Zara gives proper training to its employees to prove better service such as- professionalism, attitude, hard-working and having a sense of belongingness within stores(Raduški, 2017). Operation productions It plays crucial role in successful implementation of all activities related to producing and manufacturing of goods & products. In terms of Zara operation department conducts proper markets research about competition, trends, customer requirements etc.(Sandhu, 2017). then production or manufacturing department develop outputs with the ability to push boundaries of fashion trends. It helps in attracting customers. How business functions kins With respect to Zara all these functions are interlinked with one another and plays crucial role in huge success and brand image of company(Chan, Wang and Ybarra, 2018). For instance operationdepartmentconductsresearchaboutfashiontrends,demandofproductsthen manufacturing department produce goods as per the research. Marketing department frames the plan including objectives, budget, resources, marketing analysis etc. required for successful development and launching of goods. Then financial department allocate the required fund for implementationofplanandaccomplishmentofmarketingobjectives.Humanresource department is responsible for performing well in front of customers to increase sale. 2
