The Green IT aims to make use of the product for the manufacture of the computers that does not affect the environment. The production of an eco- friendly system is necessary for the reduction of the pollution that is caused due to the manufacture of the various IT products (Akman and Mishra 2015). The essay first defines the issues that is caused by the systems that is presently in use and then argues how the use of the Green IT will help to avoid these risks. The Green IT concept is largely in use in the various organizations for the reduction of the pollution that is caused by the emission of the harmful products. There are issues that may arise by the use of the traditional IT products or the IT computers that are presently in use. The use of the traditional IT products involve the emission of the various green house gases such as the various carbon emissions. The other threats that are involved in the use of the IT products are the more energy consumptions that is taking place. A large amount of poisonous chemicals is used for the production of the computers (Dastbaz, Pattinson and Akhgar 2015). Other than the use of the harmful chemicals, there is also requirement of the various fossil fuels. The use of the large number of fossil fuels may affect the environment in the later stage (Zheng, 2014). The old computers, which does not function has to be disposed off, which is not easy due to the emission of the various harmful gases after the disposition. The issues can be addressed by the technology of green IT technology. The idea is to use the raw materials that are not harmful to the environment. The use of the Eco- friendly materials should be introduced for the production of the IT materials. The use of the concept of cloud computing also comes under the part of green IT as the use of the cloud computing does not
2GREEN IT require the use of the resources such as the computers (Mishra, Akman and Mishra 2014). The cloud can be accessed from anywhere and thus does not require the use of the systems storage space. The use of the green IT products would not require the use of the fossil fuels thus making the environment safe in the future. It can be concluded from the essay that there are large number of environmental risks involved in the use of the traditional form of information technology. Thus, effort is being made for the shifting to the use of the green IT products for the protection of the environment. The essay presents the various solutions that can be implemented for the prevention of the use of the information technology products and shift to the use of green IT products.
