INTRODUCTION
Organizational culture refers to the academic study of how individuals interact with each
other in the workplace. In other words it is the collection of value, expectation and practices
which guide and inform about the actions of all team members. Amazon is the broad interest
based enterprise who sells goods like electronics. Books, music, toys, housewares etc. in direct
ways or through middleman between other retailers and their millions of customers (Lazar and
et.al., 2020).
This report will discuss the stages of group formation and its importance for group of
organization, it will focus on various theories of organization behaviour and its impact on the
organizational culture.
MAIN BODY
Developing scenario around the process of group formation
Group refers to the process when two or more individual work together for common goal
or objective. The members of group interact and interdependent on each other with the purpose
of achieving the particular objective. Team or group formation begins with understanding of
individual working with each other or all alone. Individual team members should know about
themselves well enough to execute how the task will be performed with other and act
accordingly. In similar way, for Amazon group formation would develop the effectiveness for
several of working people in organization. By developing the group formation it would help the
departments of organization to accomplish the important task in more suitable ways. Whereas
groups will be essential in increasing the organizational outputs as well as influencing attitudes
and behaviours of members. The group formation would be effective to develop the employee
interaction with others and it is essential to have positive work culture which encourages
individual or groups to work more effectively towards the goals and objectives.
Stages of group formation and its importance in formation process
Tuckman's model describes about team which develops ability and maturity, relationship
and leadership styles change for more collaborative and shared leadership. A group is formed by
collective practices of forming, storming, norming and performing. Moreover, adjourning group
complete the process of group formation (Bell and et.al., 2019). It articulates the group have
been successful in accomplishing its pre determined objectives. The fives stage of formation of
groups are :

Forming
It is the beginning stage of group formation in which member begin with planning their
work and roles with the positive emotions. In is essential for groups to conduct the activity by
learning about process in preparation and it is important to learn about terms of conflict
resolution, group decision-making, communication and time management.
Storming
In this particular stage individual start to push against establish boundaries where conflict
may arise between employee as their preferred methods of working surface and clash with each
other. If role and responsibilities are not justified they might commence to feel overwhelmed by
work strain or frustrated at lack of progress.
Norming
In this stage, group work through social and individual issues, and the group introduce
their own norms of behaviour and commence with trusting each other (Lavergne and et.al.,
2019). Thus, in development of interpersonal skills by group it adds more value to those skills.
Performing
Performing stage describes when group is ready to begin with performing the respective
task and assigned jobs. In this stage group become more familiar with each other having the
clarity with regard of what and how has to be done. Performing stage begins when group is
comfortable with work and ends with completion of jobs.
Adjourning
After performing stage the group is adjourned, this stage ends the prices of group
formation due to group is adjourned with assigned task that is completed.
In elaborating to the Amazon for being attentive with formation process for performing
the specific task will help to enhance the overall performance of work group. The effectiveness
would be driven by forming of better relationship among individual and develop the work culture
more pleasant and comfortable (Wacquant, 2019). Apart from this it helps and works as source
of supplying information in culture where individual get to know about what is happening in
organization. The groups develop the code of language for faster communications and reduces
psychological obstacles to communication. People may come up with new ideas and discuss the
problems aligned with working aspects and in groups they can provide new ideas to solve the
issues. In these stages of group development, the members address several issues and ways in

which such issues are resolved identify whether group will succeed in performing their tasks and
activities.
Focusing on organizational behaviour theories and its impact on culture
Organizational behaviour theory is study of human behaviour in the working culture. It
concentrates on attempts to find answers about why human behave in the ways within various
professional groups and settings. By following the organizational behaviour theory helps to
understand effective measures of change in order to gain profits (Ravasi and et.al., 2018).
Organizational behaviour theory shows how individual interact with each other in real life and
organization as well. Thus, it helps business utilize knowledge and inform groups about
enhancing the efficiency and motivation . The major theories relevant to such behaviour are :
Scientific management theory -
It is the oldest management theory, in which encouragement alone is not sufficient in
promoting motivation to employers and boosting productivity. For simplifying the task and such
procedures are required by employee to get the appropriate direction for performing better
outcomes. The scientific management theory concludes that employee and managers must work
closely as well as with division of big task into small and administrable ways. The theory also
describes there should be economic efficiency in which employee must be rewarded in line with
productivity levels.
Human relation management theory -
The purpose of developing this theory was the response to scientific management theory,
it states that human is complex having unique needs and expectations. There are various factors
encourages motivation of employee and workplace behaviour. It is crucial for organization to be
focused psychological and social needs. In terms of incentives, healthy group mechanics and
recognitions of efforts plays significance role in driving productivity in workplace.
In elaborating to the similar ways the organization culture is crucial for motivating
employee and boost their productivity levels (Sabatier, 2018). On the basis of following theories,
making the task easier for employee engage them in performing better outcomes in their task and
activities. In the context of Amazon, the culture of organization will have various positive impact
on employee performance and motivation levels. People working with groups in such culture
work harder to achieve the company goals by considering themselves as a part of corporate
environment. Group functioning is crucial for business by having awareness about such

phenomenon. The positive organizational culture concerned with well develop workforce and it
would be beneficial for group functioning, and they will interact with one another to form better
output. The departments of Amazon working in groups can provide better outcome for their
business operations. Thus, the positive working culture reduces the barriers and conflicts issue
among individual and groups. Overall, organizational culture renders effectiveness in functional
performance of group which also provide better results in company outcomes.
Recommendation on improving group performance
The organization like Amazon should implement the better working strategies by
assigning suitable task and providing organizational support to the specific group. The task for
team would be interesting to work than others. The outcome of working group have the impact
on the other people as well. Working on task generates the honest feedback about how group is
working. It is beneficial for Amazon to further improve their performance to indicate better
outcomes for getting better future outputs. The group formation strategy make effective
advantage for individual working people and thus it would develop more effective ways of
providing service. This would enhance employee productivity which carry outs the better image
for organization in providing quality service to customers. For better functioning of groups the
company should assign suitable people in group who can perform the task effectively. The
rewards should be provided to the excellent performance of people in groups and direct rewards
should be provided to the group rather than individual. Also, they should simplify the task for
employee so that they get the direction of work and easier for them to set the clear goals and
objectives.
CONCLUSION
From the report above it has been analysed about the stages of group formation as well as
what is the importance of formation of group in the organization. Further, it had focus on two
different theories of organization behaviour and articulated about its impact on the organizational
culture and it describes the organization should make use of group formation for enhancing
productivity and better environment at workplace. It has identified that it would positively affect
the behaviour of employees which influence them to work more towards achieving the goals and
objectives of Amazon.
