Health and digital literacy is an important aspect which would be helpful in the
assessment and the intervention planning of the disease. A nurse or a nursing student should
develop health literacy and implement the knowledge in the health care process. The health
literacy can be developed with by means of attending seminar, classes, workshops, lectures and
other programs that based on the health literacy. Course readings and scholarly journal reading
also help in the health literacy development. The health literacy programs needed to be attended
by the nurse in order to develop the knowledge about these verbal and non-verbal
communication processes along with the disease assessment and intervention plans of chronic
diseases (Beauchamp et al., 2015). The health literacy would also be developed with the help of
the reflective critical thinking which can be developed on the basis of the CRC model of care.
The reflection process of the knowledge would help in the development of the health literacy
along with the digital literacy (Marsh & Zarda, 2016). The critical thinking on the other hand can
be developed with the help of the practical experience gathering and reflection about the
knowledge gathered. The digital literacy can be developed by attending classes of the digital
platform usage and also classes about the electronic health record tools that help in the
knowledge development about electronic tools usage in the health care procedure (Asan et al.,
2015). Doing assignments, powerpoint presentations, web browsing would also be helpful in the
digital literacy development. All these literacy and knowledge can be developed with the help of
the attending specific classes and workshops and also reflecting about the knowledge gathered
from these workshops.
